Manchester United Thread

What happened to Richardson? He really looked good towards the end of last season. Had pace, a strong shot, decent dribbling. This season he's just terrible. How can that happen?

Signing Adu makes a load of sense, not just for his playing ability. If United have the chance they'd be stupid not to. He wouldn't cost the world, wants to play on loan somewhere else for a season or two, and we'd recoup his signing fee on merchandise alone. Plus attract a bigger US audience, which can't hurt. Hoping it gets done in January. (Similar set up to Dong perhaps? - actually, whatever happened to him, he didn't seem terrible and I think can come to the UK soon).
 
Richardson was never really that good. He scored a few goals but he looked just like all the other 'nearly made its' like Ben Thornley and Keith Gillespie. He won't be at Utd for a long time I think.

Adu and Dong would not be good for shirt sales as their names are too short. van Nistelrooy was a much better option. :D

Clever signing really. We need cover. It gives Smith and Solskjaer time to recover as well as Rooney and Saha a bit of space for a rest. Rossi will be back in January and Larsson can only be good for his development. If we bought a world class forward, it would change out style of play to the same as last year maybe and also push Rossi down the pecking order.
 
Fantastic signing for United. He will be a great player to bring on to replace Saha, Ronaldo or Rooney. Teddy Sheringham is 40 and look at the damage he does at West Ham when he comes on for the last 20 minutes.
 
Larsson has got so much in his 'locker' to offer United. Experience, sharp finishing and has played on the biggest football stages. Look at the damage he done when he played against Arsenal in the Champions League final! :lol:
 
The transfer makes perfect sense and i feel hes going to have a good say in the short time hes here.
On another note it seems United are not going to follow up their interest in Adu. Any reasons to think why?
 
Poor signing by United with larsson, he needs to prove that he can score goals at the top level before going into a squad of Uniteds caliber.

:lol: You are a funny man! I still don't see these 'cracks' appearing you keep going on about? The only cracks seem to be at the Emirates so far this season! :lmao:
 
I wonder if he'll get many games in. Would SAF choose him over say Smith (who needs the games desprately for fitness) or Ole?

Know that team that Ronadinho plays for that isn't Brazil? He used to play with them just last season (again, not Brazil).

What was it that Henry said about last seasons Champions League final ?

I didnt see Ronaldinho or Eto'o in the game, what I saw was Henrik Larsson, something along those lines

He will be a good option to have even though its only for a short while

rooney will be waiting if he didn`t need to help the mid so much your attacking is lethal on the wings I`m thinking SAF was looking for strength and a solid header(larsson)I think he lacks pace to reach the ball.

yes! you do but the moment you compare to other clubs you lower your standards to theirs.You don`t predict losing players due to injuries it`s not a dig I feel yous are playing great but the mistake Chelsea is doing waiting for shev they`re being effected.Can it happen to ManU waiting for Larsson(ManUtd is leading the league surly there`s more Opt.)

But thats where Rooney plays best, other than that you think Larsson lacks pace fair enough just let Saha do that job and let Larsson stick to what he does best (3 forwards, 3 differant jobs cant harm anything)

When Larsson joins I dont think United are going to rely on him so much, Solskjaer will be back by then and maybe Smith will be alot more sharper. Larsson will be there just as another option with Rooney and Saha still first choice. I can see Larsson maybe starting a few games but mainly he will be brought off the bench for the last 20 mins or so if things arent going to plan.

Other than that if you havent already, start thinking about the club you supports' problems ;) Theres quite a few!

Fantastic surprise signing.Honestly didnt see this one coming but Henke Larsson is the best available forward for a loan deal.Vastly experienced and his stats shows.Played for 4 top clubs from each country before signing with us.Do some google search before you shoot your mouth off,you plastic yank gooner,you know who you are...

i think this is a great signing he has the abilty to change games ask celtic, arsenal and barca fans and they'll agree with me.

man utd are a squad that obviously lacking depth and cover but with getting "henke" on loan it can only benifit united to the fullest, even if it only is for a few months!

sure hes getting on a bit if u look at his age. but compare him with other 30 somethings, he's still got the abilty, is fairly fit still and doesnt play like someone in the twilight years on their playing career!

im happy we've been able to snap up H.Larsson! i bet he gets the number 10 shirt! im happy fergie got him, i wosh it was a few years ago though :) oh well...i welcome the swede with open arms!

i wonder if Henry will back Man Utd to win the title now we have "the game changer"?
 
Have you heard the talk of Fegie recalling Rossi and Bardsley? I wonder where Rossi will fit in if we're bringing in Larsson.
 
Rossi for me is a direct replacement for Rooney,more of a forward.Larsson is a natural Striker/Target Man and will provide cover for Saha.Phil Bardsley is not a question,he did shut the critics when he showed that he was more than able to cover Gaz when he was out for quite some time last season.Those two coming back will increase our depth for the coming matches.I bet Larsson will take number 17 as number 10 will be reserved for someone special.
 
I wouldnt say Rossi would replace Rooney. Both are very different players. Rossi's more like a David Villa type player.
