Manchester United Thread

Wouldn't it be in the clubs best interest to have them appear to make up publicly? All this fighting is only pushing down his price tag...

I think Vann's right, Ruud just needs to accept that he might not know the whole picture and trust Fergie. And Fergie needs to stop treating his players like crap, and show them the respect they deserve.

I`m starting to think it`s about Carlos...because Ruud`s seems to be in the dark.Players are much different then coaches,I think coaches quirrels are much more sentive political speaking.Image Carlos and Ruud are at each others throat both running to SAF,He have to side w/ Carlos no doubt.....and Saha playing like a mad man making Carlos claim justifiable and SAF hoping Saha fails to prove he`s wrong.....Shite I have a movie script...it might be off a bit,but Ruud`s claims to be in the dark makes you think(media doesn`t help either)

Who actually likes Carlos? I mean fergie's not an idiot, the guy must be good at something. Seems like we never hear about those things.

IDIOT!!!!

Hahaha, thats great.

Speaking of strikers and newcastle - kuyt heading there? I rate him, surprised he'd want to head to toon land. Guess partnering Owen's a good touch, but I dunno, think he could do better.

Alright well Ruud's spoken out, lets see if Fergie takes the bait - tearful reunion anyone?

Why would Chelsea sell him? They've shown before they're willing to hold players against their will (Crespo, trying with Gallas, now maybe Drogba) and they certainly don't need a few million. The only way they'd let him go is if we offer something better in return. And hopefully we wouldn't be stupid enough to do that.

Alright SAF and board, today is the day dammit, sign some new talent!!

Well we aint getting Diarra for now as hes waiting for Madrids president elections first.

Don't know if you guys have heard the story about ronaldo and ruud, so sorry if this is already posted, but this is what i heard.

Apparantly a training ground row happened between ronaldo and ruud,

ruud: why don't you go tell you're daddy (i think refeering to quieroz)

Ronaldo: i haven't got a father (runs off crying)

thats what iv heard and thats why SAF said ruud was bad for team morale.

Again, sorry if thats already been posted.

RUMOURS APLENTY!

If you got through the posts in EVERY club thread between May and August of every season it's the same. This player is going there - that player has said this etc.

A nice piece of deal done by the Goons today.Rosicky will replace Pires nicely in midfield. No news for us in the transfer market today and this sucks....

We should try and get Mascherano from Corinthians. He is only 21, was nominated for young fifa player of the year and he can play that holding role that we desire. Fuck Diarra if he doesnt want to join United, we dont need that lanky fucker.

I've heard macherano is a bit of a battering ram, lacks any real finesse and technique. Good at holding up play, but not of the same quality of Diarra. That's from someone that likes their S. American football, personally I can't stand to watch the stuff, makes a mockery of the rules...

Rosicky wouldn't have been a bad signing for us either, oh well.

Nice to hear Ruud is still hopeful of staying, he's definitely taken the high ground on this one. Maybe that's a PR trick, but hey, it worked on me :)

Yea & go all out for Carrick.

The thing with Diarra & Madrid, it all depends on the elections. The guy that was there said no but he resigned so the new guy(which could be ex rally driver Carlos Sainz) nay say yes & than that it, he'll be off to Madrid.

To make matters wore evrything has been agreed between him & united.

Why have we lost appeal to players? Could it SAF treatment of players?

If we have another crap season i can really see a new manager coming in.

In my opinion.....It`s important For SAF support Ruud and squash all differences,I`m sorry to say it especially from ME:) No one want to play for a Boss that openly talk to the media (club morales)and doesn`t uses discretion.Players see Ruud (top scorer)getting treated like a villian.

SAF is a smart Man,but only he can clear this up.I don`t care about ManU,but it`s important for ManU to take Pts. off all teams excluding us to bring down chelski

Well if SAF doesnt buck up his ideas, I wont be sad to see the back of him. These last few seasons where he has treated players unfairly and sold unjustly, made Beckham cry lol, bought shit players, messed up transfer(who i know btw kenyon played a key part in some of them) and at one stage completely lost the plot in employing tactics that didnt suit the team. Which have all been frustrating for fans and hav resulted in us underachieving for the last 3years.

If you think about Keane never really had any special technique. He just would be persistent in running round the field battling for possesion. The guy is 21 and can still improve drastically.

Well if he does go, i wanna see either Sparky or O'neill.

Anyway we need players. Whats annoying is that the money he is using to get Diarra could probably get Nolan & Carrick.

Yeah Hughes would be my choice. I like what he has done at Blackburn. He has class and honestly, he isnt one of those politician managers who want to say the right things all the time. SAF is like that to an extent.
But with the blackburn team they play some really good passing football but also they a very physical and agrressive no nonsense side, much of the attributes you need in the premeiership. Hughes never buys pussy/pansy players which is another thing I like about him.

O'neill would be a disaster. Why does everyone rate him? He won a two horse race (not every year) and a league cup with leicester. Watch his touchline antics. falling over when they miss, etc. He's got passion but he's a prick. He'd get rid of Ronaldo and buy Muzzy Izzet. Swap Rooney and Rossi for Hartson and Heskey.
Hughes is another matter, but not yet.

I dont get why people rate O'Neil either. Once Gordan Stracten wins a few titles with Celtic and makes a few shit players look good in the scottish league, people will be suggesting him as manager for every vacant position at their club.

Sadly we STILL need him...

Good point.
If we get another manager, I dont think getting someone like Sparky or O'Neill would be any use. They're too old fashoined. Guys like Mourinho and Benitez are master tacticians like Sir Alex. If we replace SAF, it needs to be someone who is similar to him, not just another Man Utd legend or someone who gets picked just because he's British.

I hear you on that, but the thing is with Hughes he does know his tactics. I dont think what he has done at blackburn is fluke. He was very unlucky not to get wales to the Euro 2004, and had them playing some good football. Im not to keen on old fashioned managers myself and selecting someone just cuz their 'british' ro legend. In fact i hate that idea its illogical, but hughes is intelligent. Dont get me wrong I wouldnt mind a european guy liek mourinho or Benetiz. Only downside is the boring defense tactics these guys like to employ, like sitting back and soaking up pressure and then ultilising an attack only on the counter when the opposition shows gaps in their defense.

Christ we don't want to guess who is gonna be good at United - we need a READY-MADE midfielder who can slot in straight away. We cannot afford another Kleberson-style affair. We need an Essien - and NOW.
