Well mate i'll be honest I love banter and piss taking but it doesnt always come across the right way in this format, and I think people just think im a twat.

Scousers and city fans i'll ripp alllllllll day cos I do know quite alot about both clubs.

But speaking to some of you I realised how much I base my opinions on other supporters/clubs on everything but the actual supporters/clubs. And tbh most of you know fuck all about United aswell.

So i'll admitt that my general knowledge on footy has improved 10 fold since coming on here, so I hope I can give something back.

I actually spend 98% of my time on these forums in this section, I think I should be a mod in this MOFO!!!

CWright, sign him up, CWright, CWright sign him up!!

Whoa

The big names are rolling in now!!!

We're signing Dong Fangzho from China...

Dont know much tbh apart from the deal wil be done in a few days and it'll be for about £2mill.

In August, 18-year-old Dong Fangzhuo emerged as the cream of a crop of youngsters sent by China's top clubs to England for trials.

Ninja, do you have your location as UK cause you don't live near Manchester and you don't want to draw people to this fact.

Not that I have to explain myself to ANYONE on this site, I will. I lived in Salford until I was 11, my parents got divorced, I left with my mother, as my father was an asshole. I was going to Old Trafford with my uncle when I was a kiddie, as he is a hardcore Manc. My mother moved to Swansea, so I have been here since I was 11, although I do stay with my uncle once a month. So my point being I can, and will support Manchester United forever, whether I live in Swansea, Manchester or Barbados.

You living at Dagenham, then? Familiar with the bowling/pool place? With a McDonalds, Pizza Hut etc by it? I used to go there with my dad (he lives in Aveley, Essex) its West Ham capital down there - strange you are an Arsenal supporter!? You gotta be in North London to support them. Thats what your attitude is like. Sheesh.

But no, if you support Manchester United these days, you`ve only been doing so since May (thats the general attitude of some assholes on this site)

Its ABU's in general mate, never mind that we've always had great support (even in div2) or that the vast majority of supporters live within the boundries of the city, the only things they can throw at us are usually non-football related, that says more about them than us mate so dont sweat it.

Wow chill those boots Ninja fella. My turn to explain. Technically I really shouldn't be a gooner but I am second generation. My Dad was the youngest of 3 brothers the eldest of whom was forced to go to West Ham as a youngster. He decided when 18 to get his dad back by supporting Arsenal ( Ithink this coincides with the 71 double making him a glory hunter). His brothers ie my dad followed with the Arsenal thing and have been ever since. Few, glad thats cleared up, had to explain this to a new bloke in wok the other day and he was all for rebelling against the hmmers and he's an addick.

As for the the Goresbrook leisure complex you refer to, I have been there but you may have noticed the pub (Spoofers) has no windows mainly cause they kept replacing them when people got put through them. That is the main reason I stay away from there.

That's what we said about Inamoto

Well the Dong deal is far from done:

'United officials are sceptical over the claims of Lin Lefeng, general manager at Dong's club side Dalian Shide, that a deal in the region of £3.5million will be completed within the next couple days, as there is a mass of paperwork still to sort out. The major problem for Old Trafford chief executive David Gill is that the 18-year-old is not eligible for a work permit because he does not fulfil the criteria of appearing in 75% of his country's international matches over the past two seasons. It means Dong is almost certain to be loaned out to one of United's worldwide network of 'feeder' clubs, possibly Belgian league side Royal Antwerp.'

Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has finalised a pre-contract agreement for midfielder Liam Miller from Celtic FC. Liam will join the club on 1st of July 2004 on a long term contract.

Liam Miller said: “As a young boy I only ever supported two clubs, Glasgow Celtic and Manchester United. I am honoured to have played for Celtic for six years and now I look forward to joining Manchester United. It’s very exciting and is going to be a challenge to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

Sir Alex Ferguson said: “We recognised the potential of Liam, he has had a great season at Celtic. He is very much part of our progressive thinking of developing a young team over the next few years”

David Gill, Chief Executive of Manchester United PLC, said “I am pleased to have Liam joining us, it focuses our continued commitment to bring in young players for the future”

Miller fact file:

Born: 13 February 1981, Cork, Ireland
Position: Midfielder
Height: 5’. 8”

Liam joined Celtic in June 1998 aged 16. This season he played in all but one of Celtic’s 19 SPL games scoring three goals. He also played in all the clubs Champion League matches, scoring three times.

But one deal that is done is the Miller deal, not suprised at the levels of bitterness wafting down from the border like a bad smell.

Everyone involved rates the kid, Miller, and I for one am looking forward to see another (future) Ireland captain wearing The Shirt.

Tons of stuff floating around from people involved with either the player, celtic or United, and suprisingly not a hint of bitterness :D

Ireland Under-21 coach Don Givens

“Liam does everything Roy did as a young player in the way he influenced the game. He has that same energy and can play high up in the midfield or further back. He can cope with the physical side of the game and can also score important goals, as he has done for Celtic this season.”

"I've coached many great kids but I would have to say he's one of, if not, the best. Liam is just so composed in possession, he never panics and very rarely wastes a pass. He's got a great engine and he can be a real tiger at times."

Teamate, Henrik Larsson:

“Liam is one of the best young talents I have ever seen. He really is tremendous. He has shown amazing maturity and confidence. Right from his first game he looked like he’d always been playing at the highest level. At the moment it is impossible to say how far he can go — but he obviously has great potential.”

Lou Macari:

Former United star Lou Macari feels that new signing Liam Miller has shades of Paul Scholes about his game.

Macari, AKA The Player, scouts players for Republic of Ireland boss Brian Kerr, and says that Miller has put in exceptional performances whenever he has seen him play.

Lou did admit surprise at the move, though, saying: "I'm a little bit surprised that he's coming because it's one department where we've got plenty of cover, in that midfield area.

"On the one hand I can see why United would sign him, because he is a good player. On the other hand, the fact that we've got a lot of midfield players, that's the strange side."

Macari was quick to underline what the Irishman could bring to United, though.

"He gives you legs in that department, young legs that can get about the pitch. He'll pop up here, there and everywhere.

"He's in the mould of a Paul Scholes - obviously not so prolific in scoring, but certainly in that mould where he likes to get forward, likes to get in the box and he's a non-stop player.

"He's certainly somebody that will not fail. He's forced his way into the Republic of Ireland side and he's forced his way in on his performances for Celtic. He's in there on merit.

"He's in there because Brian Kerr's been to watch him, and I've been to watch him and he's played exceptionally well when either of us have seen him."

So all in all everyone but a few sad celtic fans are raving about the kid in a similar way people raved about Keano,

And that cant be a bad thing

Hey vann have you read the praise you got in the warning and bans thread in the site comments section. The only liked manure fan.

The Saha saga rumbles on:

Saha to French paper

“I already see myself at Old Trafford. This stadium gives me luck. It is there that I began in the Premiership with Fulham.”

Saha's Dad/Agent throws in his 2cents:

“This matter is not over. Louis does not want to miss out on the chance of a lifetime. He is still determined to join United and we will not yield. I hope to have a meeting with Mohamed Fayed in the next few days. Louis did not cost Fulham a lot of money and has always acted in an honourable manner. We are not giving up. We believe a solution can be found to keep all parties happy. Louis is an honest boy but I’m not sure he can give 100 per cent when his mind is not right.”

Well we're trying so Louis, Dad, be cool.....

From the Times

'Despite the supposed intransigence of Saha’s employers at Fulham, Ferguson is confident that the French forward will become a United player before the end of the month. After the player’s protest at seeing United’s £8 million offer rejected, it is thought that a compromise in the region of £10 million will be reached.'

Pretty much what I said yesterday.

Well that is a suprise

I made an effort to amend my "flaming" ways, seems to have paid off.

Cheers gents!!!

Fuck Saha is pissed, this guy has gotta be the most determined player to come to OT since Ruud.

"I know he [Coleman] did not like what I said - he told me.
We have not talked to each other since Wednesday. Against
Middlesbrough I performed one of the worst matches of my
career, maybe this was no accident.

"I will not do anything stupid out of respect for my team-
mates, who I really like, but I will do everything possible
to leave. An offer like the Manchester one, even Coleman
would not turn it down.''

If for whatever reason this doesnt come of he may have shot himself in the foot, but his determination to be the best cant be denied.

Good for you lad.

Larsson said that when he first burst onto the scene, it's amusing how you lump it in with the other comments that have been made since his move has been announced :D .

Of course Celtic fans are annoyed, when a player says "I want to stay" then does the dirty by leaving the club, it leaves a sour taste in the mouth of fans.

And the kid is hardly making it better for himself when he says he's proud to have played for Celtic for 6 years, he's made 16-odd appearances in half a season, he has a real cheek to say that. He doesn't know the meaning of the word fan, that's already evident when he says he supported two clubs.

Hope you're prepared for a very unfit and low on morale and match practise player come June.

Well I never said when the comments we're made, or cared really, just that there was alot of stuff floating around about the kid.

lol at his poor morale, yeah he looked gutted yesterday.

Give it a rest

Who can blame a Celtic player for wanting to come to United? I can`t stand some Celtic and Rangers fans, they are so up their own arses, just because their teams usually win a domestic trophy or championship. Put them in the Premiership! Please! Cardiff, Wrexham and Swansea play in English divisions, why can`t they!??

Up our own arses?

God forbid we should be annoyed at a player who gives it "I'm happy here, I want to stay" then does a Judas on the club.

It's not about Celtic or Rangers, I'm talking about Liam Miller being 2 faced in all of this. It's the way he's done it that wrankles with the fans.

Larsson leaving at the end of the season, too. Its not happy times for the Celtic "Bhoys"

Yeah I for one aint turning this into another pointless spl thing.

I just think that losing players to bigger clubs is a part of football to be so shocked/appalled by it smacks of naivety, it happens to Us, Madrid, everyone, its probley the kids dream to play at OT with Keano, as it would be for most Irish players (bit shocked how easily you dismissed the celtic/Irish/United connection Classic) yeah im all for club loyalty but that starts and stops with the supporters/fans, players are sold/bought/cast off/loaned out /sacked against their own will all the time, soon as player looks out for himself every cunt wants to have a dig at him.

Talk about knowing nothing - who's talking about Larsson? This is a Man Utd thread is it not?

It's more than happy times, still in Europe having spent no money, the Orcs are 11 points + 30 goals behind us, and we have an automatic CL spot wrapped up for next year. Not too bad for a team who play in a shite league, we don't all have the luxury of Premiership TV money.

I`m sorry, but I watched C5 last night, with the highlights of the 2003, and I felt sick when L`pool played Celtic - the "You`ll never walk alone" anthem before the game, I just can`t stand Scottish football, I don`t care about any United-Celtic connections. As for Celtic doing well in the SPL - YOUR OPPOSITION IS SHITE!!!!! Even Rangers look like a Division 1 team over here. I`m sorry to put this in the United thread, but I`m just pointing something out. I`m not having a dig at you, ClassicD because you have to stick by your team, whatever division they are in, wherever they play.
But as Vann pointed out, there will always be a bigger club waiting to snap up your players, whether you`re a Oldham supporter, Celtic supporter or United - there is always a bigger club with bright prospects waiting to get a bit of your better, gifted players.

It probably is his dream to play with Keane yes. You're still missing my point though, you cannot expect Celtic fans to be happy when he publicly says it's all nonsense and he wants to stay, then he legs it! That's all I'm saying.

On the United/Irish/Celtic connection, anyone who actually supports more than one team is a glory-hunter, they are not a true fan. Fair enough if one is your 'second team' in that someone you like best from a country, etc (for example I like Newcastle, and I've always liked Barcelona), but you should only support one team. Any 'fan' who doesn't is a fan I don't want associated with the club.

Maybe you're more used to glory hunters, I dunno ;).

I don't like this whole 'United-Celtic' connection thing either, it's a lot of pish. Our league may well be shite, not much we can do about that, but it's as competitive as yours, and that is embarrassing...

I`m sorry, I disagree. The Premiership is very competitive - c`mon when Celtic play week-in, week-out you know 3 points are in the bag, BEFORE the game. Doesn`t this bore you? At least with the Premiership there are FAR more upsets - like when the Saints beat us this season, when Bolton put on a show against Arsenal - thats the beauty of our league. When does the opposition ever beat you? They don`t (in the league)

Its a 3 horse race, when one of the horses (Chelsea) has picked up a bit of flu :D
Just admit, its a far more interesting league.

Oh no, i dont buy this connection thing with celtic either but I do understand why people in Ireland follow more than one club, and when someone is prepared to travel along way to watch, Utd, Celtic ot lfc play then its unfair to put them in the same brackett as someone like zico. Especially if they dont have top class (or at least spl) footy in their country.

But anyway thats enough of celtic talk we've signed the lad, everyone but the club he's leaving are happy (which is a good sign IMO)

We've got a big game this weekend....
