Manchester United Thread

Yes, Vann has been there from the get go.

Join him next time on Arjen Weekly, when he'll show you how to fart just like the Dutch youngster, using no additives!

Hurrah!

This lad is fast I hear, not seen much of him but he's meant to be a good prospect.

Fergie will play his kids for that tie, which is good for us! Save the 1st team for the Championship and C.League . . .

Nah Fergie will play the strongest team available cos he wont be direspectful to the clubs as they will no doubt have a full house and it'd be good for either clubs finances.

I don`t know about a full-strength first 11 for that game. I think Ruud will be rested, as will Keano and Giggs. Fergie will probably treat the crowd to Howard, Scholes, Ronaldo, Forlan, Kleberson, Butt/P.Neville, G.Neville - C`mon, he won`t waste Ruud + co - I really can`t see it. Its Man United at the end of the day! ;)

well, i dont think the likes of bardsley or tierney should see action though, and bellion, sigh, i just dont really like him, but i guess we ll just see...

ps when is ole back?

Crunch match of the season for Man Yoo with the unpredictable Bolton. Should be a good game, can't see Man Yoo losing but a draw is certainly on the cards, match of the round for mind fuck Chelsea v Scousers.

Inter President Morrati (sp) admitts to United contact regarding Vieri!!!!

Now this I like the sound of, Its reported that Vieri has had enough with the underachieving Seria A club and I think he might be on a free soon.

him and Ruud up front, would be

Fergie, sign him up.

It was great to see Wes Brown playing again at weekend, bit unlucky for the goal but other than that he had a great game.

"It was a good game to watch with a great atmosphere," Wes told MUTV.

"But we found it hard to pass the ball around in midfield and Villa took an early lead. They were pressurising us and closing us down very well, but we played our way back into it and got the victory in the end. It was great to be back but I know I can still get better and I've got to keep training hard. It was another game under my belt and the more games I play the better, whether it be for the first team or the reserves. I felt I fitted in okay at the back and my fitness was good but unfortunately I scored another own goal! But thankfully we came back very strong in the second half and Scholesy was there again to put the goals away."

He's a great defender, not as classy as Rio or Silvestre but he gets stuck in and will run all day. He's United thru and thru and comes from the same place I was born, and they dont raise you to be soft there, and that shows in his defending, barring injuries, he will more than make up for the loss of Rio.

As you've probley read, PSV chaiman isnt too happy with Fergie's methods of luring Robben to United, but the player seems fine with it..

"It's very clear that United are one of the biggest clubs in the world. I was quite sober about the visit beforehand, because I wasn't really obsessed with United. I knew it was a great club, but I wanted to see it with my very own eyes. But what a club! The stadium, the training ground, the staff - everything's so extremely professional."

It appears that Robbens family are responsible for arranging the trip to OT but the PSV instead choose to blame Fergie (not United though strangely) but I s'pose thats how you get your name in the papers ey.

Pull the other one Vann! Fergie is the tap up king!!! I suppose the Robbens just turned up on his doorstep and poor old Fergie (not knowing who this strange dutch family was) took it upon himself to show them round OT and the training ground!?

As you say so well:

Big game at the reebok for us tomorrow, very difficult game there last season, that was after a big away game against Juve but Bolton we're the better team.

So with a few players being rested for the Villa game im hoping we can stamp our mark on the game early on, Bolton also made it hard for us on the opening day of the season until Ronaldo ripped them apart.

As far as im concerned we still owe them for the two back to back victories at OT so i fancy us for the win.

Im a big fan of Big Sam. top quality manager and speaks alot of sense.

SAM ALLARDYCE believes his Bolton team will be facing the best midfielder in the world in Paul Scholes tomorrow night.

Allardyce said:

“Thierry Henry was supposed to be disappointed not to get one of the awards. Well, Paul Scholes had equally as good a shout. The fact that he was not even in the top six in Europe is a disgrace. There is not a better midfielder in the world."

“Before Scholes gets the ball, he knows where he is going to put it. You cannot really set out a plan to mark him because you do not know where he really plays. He might start in one position but then he just drifts without anyone noticing. But he can appear in the box all of a sudden.”

IMO scholesy gets overlooked alot cos he shuns the limelight (and maybe the ginger factor :) )but he's a legend at OT and is adored by the supporters, there isnt one coach in the world who doesnt rate/fear him.

He doesnt need any individual awards to tell him that...

Maybe hes over looked coz he aint as good as Zidane,Henry and Nedved

What, like Crespo and Vieri were?

Inter have A LOT of players on their books that are very well paid. I don't think Vieri is too happy about the way the club is run (President continually appoints people then sacks them very quickly), and the President wants shot of him pronto.

He's a great, great player but he's far too similar to RvN I think, Man Utd need someone Saviola, Tevez, Larsson or Saha, that type of player.

I'd like to see him at OT, we need another senior world class striker with all the youngsters that are coming in, Ruud, Ole, Vieri and Saha would be ideal for me and there games would blend well IMO.

Vieri and Crespo didn't exactly hit it off is what I'm saying, and I think it's because they are too similar. They are great players but I don't think RvN and Vieri would work as well together as say RvN and Saviola.

I get ya,

I dont think Vieri and Crespo got that much time together, but its hard to say with Vieri cos he's not been happy for a while so you dont know how much thats effected his game.

Who knows, but I reckon having two strikers like that in your squad cant be a bad thing.

Don Domenico said:
I actually think Vieri and RVN might be able to play together.

Me too, the defenders wouldnt know what do.

With RVN being such a better player than when he arrived I could see him playing alongside anyone, his teamwork has increased 10fold.

Vieri is known for letting other people score, when he was playing with Ronaldo he often let Ronaldo get the goal. Also when playing for Italy Vieri often gets an assist.

Vannizzlefashizzal said:

I agree, they would be helpless against the battering ram Vieri and the the greatly balanced RVN. Entire defences would fall over.

Agreed!!...Vieri would be the one stayin up in the box while RVN can roam like he used to...superb,Vieri in that number 9 jersey would be legendary at United.

Fergie on FA cup draw:

FA Cup draw

"It is quite a while since we have had a lower-league team in the cup. Nevertheless, it's away from home so there's alway that thing about an away tie in the FA Cup where the neutrals in particular are looking for a shock. But, when you see some of the other draws we've got to be happy. There are five premier division clashes. So, there is going to be a few casualties from the premier league there. Hopefully we can do our job properly which will take us on to the next stage."

Mohammed kicks off!!!

"I am fed up with Sir Alex Ferguson trying to disrupt my club and constantly trying to unsettle my players. Ever since Fulham beat Manchester United at Old Trafford so convincingly he has been showing signs of increasing desperation. Obviously he needs a top quality striker urgently but he can't have mine. I have a clear message to Sir Alex and anyone else who is interested: 'Read my lips, Louis Saha is not for sale'."

Well Al maybe if your player didnt come out and say it'd be a dream to play at OT we wouldnt pursue.

I don`t rate Vieri - don`t get me wrong, he can be class - but its just his lazy attitude towards the game (reminds me of Anelka) or is that just because he is sick of being at Inter?

The best strike duo in the world is Raul and Ronaldo for me, by the way - sublime.

Nah for me he's sh*t hot, after watching forlan for 2 seasons i'd love for u to sign Vieri..

I don't think Vieri plays lazy at all, and Vieri is in a whole different league then Anelka. Ronaldo is great, but i think Raul is a tad overrated. Raul 's still great though.
