Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Why shouldn't they be, they have a decent side now with a great up and coming English manager who has given them someting they have been lacking - belief in themselves.

is that how you'd feel if it was your derby with spurs??

There are reasons why they havent won at OT in 30years...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Spurs actually do have a more than decent team this season and I think its gonna be a very hard game.

From sky sports:

Carlos Tevez has caused a storm in Brazil by appearing for a press conference wearing a Manchester United shirt.

The Argentinian only joined Corinthians in February but has complained that he is being harshly treated by referees and opponents because of his nationality.

In an act seemingly designed to make his point clearly, the midfielder sported a Red Devils jersey after previously commenting that he was not happy with life in Brazil.

"I'm thinking of leaving Corinthians," the 21-year-old commented cheekily to the assembled press.

When asked whether he was disrespecting the Brazilian club by wearing the shirt, he scowled: "What I get from Nike [the United shirt] I use, I do not see any problem."

Corinthians officials reportedly asked Tevez to remove the shirt before commencing with the interview.

The former Boca Juniors star won the Intercontinental Cup with the Argentinians before moving across South America rather than heading for Europe.

There have been suggestions that he could end up at Chelsea due to Roman Abramovich's links with the MSI group, who own Corinthians.

He's a right one is this lad, some of his exploits are pretty funny!

You could argue Utd have lost some theirs. I just think it will be a more even game than previous years. The difference between City and Spurs is that I seem to remember City stuffing you 4-1 a couple of years back. Spurs haven't beaten us in any shape or form since 1999.

My point was that Arsenal have lost a big player in the MF, and spurs have gained some quality in vital areas.

our team is pretty much the same, just a better keeper and city havent really added in positions that they really needed, (MF DF)

Yes they have beaten us twice in the last few seasons but our home record remains and they are the only two games we've lost to them in 18 years.

In this the 144th encounter, we lead 61-36, both clubs are looking to continue their excellent start to the season with a new 'record'. If we win it's our best ever start to a Premiership season, and if city get their first reverse for thirty years it would be the first time they've won four Premiership games on the bounce - though it straddles two seasons.

I am hoping for a good game, why isn't it on Sky??

its not unusual for a big derby to be a 3pm kick off, the police we're fine to let it kick off at 3 and they are the ones who have the final say in these things...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

i cant beleive you guys cant get the game in england, but i can get it in America, thats just crazy!!!

Well Im looking at it this way, if we cant be confident now when were on the best run in the league for twenty odd years, unbeaton, and Pearce newly crowned manger of the month when can we be... 30 years without a win its got to end sometime!

Good stuff! :) I wonder if that will mean Smith in for his first real test, that will be some battle with Barton.

yeah Keano's never lost a derby so I prefer him to play but we'll need him fit for Villareal...

Yeah we reckon Smithy will start if Fergie plays the three in MF but with that system there to benefit Keane (and him not playing) he might go 4-4-2 with Park on the right giggs on the left and Scholes, Fletch in the MF....

either way it should be more than enough to overcome you berties!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Ah full of optimisim, i did read a article earlier in the week where Fegie was pretty much poninting out the downfalls of your 4-3-3, so a switch could be possible, prefer it to stay the way it is at leat for one more game. Some good odds on Andy Cole to score, 9-1 first to score and 11-4 on him to score in the 90 mins might be worth a few bob eh Vann..;)

lol yeah worth a few bob....if your a bookie lol

siddy didnt score one goal against us last season, the only team they failed to score against!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Easy goal for him! Was it offside, who cares?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

78' [1 - 1] J. Barton

JJJJJJJJJJOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

This derby was a bit too culculative, both teams didnt took any gamble.Quite the right result for both teams but i felt if Keano had been introduced earlier,we could still have our clean sheet intact.Nobody gave city a chance before this match but I did cos I knew this city team looked somewhat different from the past and they had Psycho to inject some steel into them.Next up,flight to spain, its Villareal.
