Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Ronaldo's dad past away this morning. The heart of every portuguese is with CR7 today.

He said he still wanted to play against russia anyway, but it isn't certain yet...

This is pretty sad. It must have been a long illness cuz Ronaldo took time off during our preseason tour to be with his dad in hospital.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Just goes to show, no matter how much money they earn, they're all human. He should take as much time off as it needs.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Never a good thing i lost my dad when i was 18... Heard hes out for the Derby! By the way Do MUTV show the premiership matches live?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

As much as I wouldnt like him to, he should be given time off and rested for the derby.

Must be mentally strong if he insisted on playing against Russia.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

I think being a former footballer himself, his late dad would be proud of his child not turning his back and play for his country in this crucial game.Arguably,as a footballer, football is life.I hope Ronaldo stays strong and keep his chin up.

Other news, finally the Obi Saga seems to be settled. Its great news that he will finally be ours come january.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Yeah. Maybe the midfielder we need. He seems to be kind of a holding player.

But that could mean bad news for Smith.

Well usually i have all the lads round for the trip to the OT but with it not being on Sky were struggling to find a neutral pub! The one we went a couple of years ago for the derby are splittting the pub into two rooms!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

wait a sec, you cats live in manchester, and the game isnt on TV? whats up with that?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

I heard the Milan channel show every game live including training sessions.

Shit, i'd forgotten his dad was ill. Poor guy, and poor Cristiano. The fans need to help him next match. RIP

not %100 why, but it is...

I'll find out....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

Is it actually due to the law or is it just so they don't encourage heavy drinking in the afternoon or skiving off work- you know like an agreement between the TV networks on 'moral' grounds or something?

Its to do with it effecting attendances at other clubs. If live Prem games were shown in this country at 3pm every Saturday, then they reckon the smaller clubs (League 1 and below) would suffer. That is the reason its not allowed.

However as Vann says, a lot of pubs in the country pick up European TV (where it is shown) and do that.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

What about bums like me who dont do anything on weekends?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Derby Week, Dont ya Love It!!!

That what live streaming is for...!

Hark now here, The City Sing, United ran away, And we will fight for ever more, Because of Derby Day.
