ha ha!!!!

Have a read of this from BBC today RuneEdge, and unlike yourself these are from fans who actually go to old Troughford:

BBC News

Fans not won over by Glazers' vow

Fans' group Shareholders United remain deeply dismayed with Manchester United's new owners despite Joel Glazer's pledge over transfer budgets.

Joel, son of United's billionaire owner Malcolm, says the club will have money to spend and will keep its big stars.

But Shareholders United chair Nick Towle told BBC Sport: "They are just warm words to appease the fans. Where will the money come from?

"Now the banks have their hooks into the club, they will say what happens."

Towle's comments are tame in comparison with those other fans - and some of their protests have enraged United chief executive David Gill.

He said: "Quotes from various people calling the Glazers repulsive are not right.

"Those kind of comments by supposed fans repulse me and it makes me wonder what they think they are achieving."

Glazer borrowed heavily to finance the £790m takeover of United and fans have been furious with the way their club has been bought.

It has been reported that Glazer will rise ticket prices and cap the amount of money spent on new players.

You have to move forward and understand that things have changed
Man Utd chief executive David Gill

Towle believes it is inevitable and has dismissed Joel's claims a transfer cap will not be imposed.

"The takeover is based on a massive level of debt - the club is no longer in control of its finances, the banks are," Towle added.

"The Glazers' two-year profit plan for the club is very aggressive and I can't see how they are going to achieve it.

"They will just milk the club all they can, hike up ticket prices and possibly try to negotiate a new TV contract or some other drastic course of action.

"I've already given up my season ticket and I hate to think how the atmosphere will be at Old Trafford when all the true fans have disappeared."

Happy days!!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Is that why loads of fans on MUTV supported him?
The people against him is actually a minority cuz even though people dont like Glazer, we all know its in the teams best interest that we support him.

Plus Glazer has the backing of our Chief Executive and Bobby Charlton.

And I saw Joel Glazer's interview on MUTV which looked very convincing too.

You're mentally instable BroodjeGras.Do you miss your childhood days or the lack of it? Some people have all the time to get sumthin off the net and post it here just to make themselves happy, you should celebrate by wanking, while at it too.

Meanwhile, this is what Edwin and Timmy gonna rock next season,a tribute to Peter Schmeichel perhaps?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

A great player to add to the Utd ranks would be Julio Baptista, who would be great for us in midfield, if he transfers from sevilla because he's a prolific goalscorer (20 goals in 30 matches- 2003/4 season) and is like Heinze, a hard-man with fantastic physical attributes. If Glazer sticks to his promise of allowing us to break the transfer budget, to bring players like "The Beast" Baptista, I wouldn't be too against him, as long as we don't go down the same road as Leeds.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Man Utd and Arsenal both want Baptista but I thing the Gunners are gonna get him cuz they're taking their interest in the player more seriously.

Its kinda weird seeing someone else in green. Only the Great Dane famously wore green. And in recent years, our keepers have mainly wore black and other plain colours like white and grey.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Short stories from "What The Papers Say" @ ManUtd.com
Alex Ferguson has been given the green light by the Glazers to make a £17million move for Lyon’s attacking midfielder Michael Essien. The Ghanaian, 22, has become a top target for Manchester United’s manager after new owner Malcolm Glazer’s son Joel insisted money would be made available.

Alan Smith has no intention of leaving Manchester United. The England striker will fight for his place despite renewed interest from Newcastle. Smith, 24, has struggled to win a regular place since his £6.5m move from Leeds. But his agent Eric Black said: "Alan is committed to United and is not interested in going anywhere else. This is a big season for him with the World Cup coming up."

Malcolm Glazer is keen to know when Rio Ferdinand will sign his new contract at Manchester United. The new club owner wants Ferdinand to end the doubts and put pen to paper when the players return from their Portugal training trip. But the Glazers may have to wait a little longer. With chief executive David Gill on holiday for ten days from Monday, no immediate progress is likely.

Arsenal face competition from Manchester United and problems over a work permit in their bid to sign Seville's Brazilian striker Julio Baptista. Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein has been in Spain this week to discuss a deal for the 23-year-old. But Baptista has not played the required number of international matches to meet UK work permit criteria, and the buy-out clause in his contract is worth a prohibitive £28million. Should Arsenal succeed in striking a deal at a lower price, United, who are also keen, are likely to make a counter offer.

I read today that after the signings of Van Der Sar and Park Ji-Sung, we're only looking for one more or maybe two signings which means that along with Glazer's tranfer money, we might be able to go for a big signing. Essien still prefers a move to United so maybe we could still get him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Vann has contacts? With who?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

I know but Glazer is now willing to pay that much if he's an important signing.
But IMO, if Essien desperately wants to come to us, Lyon would have to lower the price cuz nobody wants to keep a unhappy player in the squad.

And speaking of unhappy players. Kleberson wants to be reasured that he has a place in the team or else he wants to move. And he'd be happy with a move to Benfica.

no its not a tribute to Schmeichel. its green because green is the colour of money in the US. also the new away is the colour of the US flag (blue, red and white).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Why do people always associate Glazer with the US?
He only lives there thats all. He wasnt even born there.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Kleberson's problem is that he's wouldn't be a good 'squad' player. I have no doubts that he's technically more gifted than O'Shea, P. Neville and probably Miller, but those three are willing to do bit roles for the team. He's out to be starting in the Brazilian first XI, so needs to playing game in game out. Personally, I think he's shown some good stuff (great one touch pass to Rooney against Charlton if I remember correctly) and exhibited high energy levels, but he knows there's so much pressure on him to do the spectacular to win over fans (and SAF?) that he plays a little 'tight' and makes mistakes. Pity, because he does have talent, but I don't think its talent he's ever going to be able to use at United.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Completely agree with you. Theres also the pressure of being the first ever Brazilian to play for Man Utd.

He still has a chance but IMO, its not worth risking a important result when someone like Scholes could have been playing instead.
Loaning might be a good idea but we need some money for the club right now so we might need to sell. I dont wanna see him go though.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

You know, after all the big talk from the Glazers about the signings, whats left to be seen is the new signings themselves.A couple more should do just fine and if it happens,it means them Glazers kept their word and we should back them up for that.About Klebs,I read somewhere, that hes quite popular with the lads and most of them dont like to see him leave.I wouldnt either but having said that,I heard that the deal with Benfica involves Miguel as a player exchange plus cash.If it happens like that,I wouldnt mind as Gaz Neville isnt getting any younger plus Miguel and Ronaldo down that right flank? Damnnnn...thats gonna cause some serious damage to opposing teams.

yeah... miguel and ronaldo on the same wing is going to be amazing i tell you... to sprinters overlapping each other...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Id love to know how Klebo is popular with the lads when Carlos Q and Ronaldo are the only ones who can speak his language! :)

One thing on the Glazer issue hes never said anything about big signings just that if the opurtunity to by another Rooney comes up he do it! And we all no Rooneys dont come along that often, Its all pulicity spinning and for once i have to agree with what thhese shareholder united tosseres are saying "whatever you do dont mension the debt!"

I've got one...Steven Gerrard :)

I can't believe he'd ever come to United, but if he has any interest, lets see Glazer put his money where his mouth is. The nice thing is, even if he doesn't like it, Gerrard will only go up in value for the next couple years, so is a fine 'investment'. Plus, Having G. Neville, Rio, Rooney, W. Brown (maybe), A. Smith (again maybe), and Gerrard all playing club football together would be great for England. Pity the Owen thing didn't work out, I bet Gerrard woudl like to hook up with him again. Though I guess those the combination of the two would be out of our fianncial league...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

You cant just ask for Steven Gerrard. Being able to afford him is one thing but actually convincing him to play for United is almost impossible.
I still think he'll play for us at some point in his career. Its just a weird feeling I have.

Apparantly, Gerrard's contract talks have broken down. Maybe its time to swoop in...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Buy Stevie G and you'll calm those fans down, Mr G
If Malcolm Glazer is really serious about his ambition for Manchester United, then perhaps he can find the cash to allow Sir Alex Ferguson to sign his favourite player. Fergie reckons Steven Gerrard could be the ideal replacement for Roy Keane. So, come on Malcolm, put your money where your mouth is. Then you can really win over the fans.
Staff reporter, Daily Mail

I agree! If Glazer wants to win the fans over, nothing would do it better than bringing Stevie G to Old Trafford.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Call me what you like, but I really wouldn't want Gerrard.
Having 2 scousers in the United side just isn't right. I hope Gerrard stops at Liverpool to be honest. When you're playing the scousers, you want to be playing actual scousers.
I just couldn't be doing with someone like him in my team, who's heart you know is with the enemy.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

hahahaha..nice one hutch.I love the passion in you...but football is much more business oriented now...but i respect guys like you but I wont mind Stevie G in our team either.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Its a fair opinion but like Phrase said, its all about business and success.
We need to see Man Utd where it belongs which is at the top. A club of our level should have won more than 2 European Cups.

Regarding Stevie G, the time is now or never!

Can we possibly see a sneaky Man Utd bid? Out of Real, Chelsea and Man Utd i'd see the last one as the best move as i hate the first two :D

I prefer Man Utd out of the top 3, always said that :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

As much as hell turn you down, you should make a bid anyway without a doubt!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

I think we have a secret bid planned. This Glazer deal has made it easier for us to do business cuz now we dont have to make reports for shareholders and the public and we dont have to reveal our finances to the stock exchange. Everything happening at United now is gonna be behind closed doors so if theres a deal planned, we probably wont know.
David Gill said on MUTV that they're looking at a player to buy but dont want to reveal who he is yet and Glazers have said that if another important player arises (like Gerrard), we'll definately make a bid cuz he believes most of the money to pay the debts will come from success on the pitch.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Owen wants move!

Hopefully Chelsea won't get Gerrard, but if they do (why if you were liverpool would you sell to another prem club, and if you're stevie g. why go to Chelsea? Go to real madrid or AC Milan, get a taste of different things) we should definitely move on Essien. I think he's got his heart set on United, and won't be worth the absurd amounts of Lyon are trying to get for him if Chelsea don't want him. Plus with Gerrard you'd always have to wonder whats in his head when he plays against liverpool, esp. at Anfield.
