Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Kleberson seems to be another Forlan - plenty of potential but just don`t cut it in the Premiership. Forlan`s career seems to have kick-started since he left Old Trafford for sunny Spain. It`s a different game, as we all know, in the hotter (and colder) climates.

Kleberson was bought as a bait for ronaldinho to come over to man u. belive this... why else would fergie buy a guy whose wife is just 16? Ronny did not come and now man u are stuck with a so called World Cup winner...

Kleberson was bought AFTER the Ronaldinho deal broke down. Ronaldinho was being hyped as the first brazilian to play for United but once Barca robbed him, we bought Kleberson and Ronaldo instead.

How many of you think Bellion should play on the right while Ronaldo rests?
I thought Bellion was great yesterday. Some of his passing was good, he has loads of pace and on top of all that, he has 5 goals this season.

Nope,Sir Alex did tried that, didnt he,it didnt worked well.Bellion is not a good supplier of the ball but he finishes off chances well...he is a forward in my eyes.He could be a second striker thou,as a foil for either of our forwards.

Yeap,Phil is definitely wearing Red Pulses....does this means that the Neville brothers are changing their boot sponsors from Diadora to Adidas? Highly likely,i think.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

jason88... he isnt "so called", he IS a world cup winner.

good result, cant wait for the clash against chelsea, hopefully we ll be riding a wave of confidence into the bridge and get a smash and grab win

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think Bellion could be used as a late sub for Ruud sometimes. If the defence is getting a bit tired, his speed would be a serious threat, plus if SAF played rooney, ronaldo and bellion at the same time, the counterattacking potential would be great...

Plus he's only 21...!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I couldn`t give a shit if the Nevilles were sponsored by Gola, as long as they defend well thats all that matters! ;)

Anyone know how long Gary is out for? Apparantly he had a virus which was spreading throughout the club.

Toon want Giggs
Newcastle are lining up a £4million New Year swoop for unsettled Manchester United star Ryan Giggs. An approach has already been made and the Welsh winger is aware of their interest.Toon boss Graeme Souness is ready to make his move during the January transfer window.
Neil Custis, The Sun

Not another devil joining the Toon Army!!..and this is just not any devil, hes a legend! Now I'm unsure if Giggs will stay or not, lots of clubs are after him and its about time we cash in on him,but then again, that leftside berth will leave a gaping hole to our disadvantage.Darn it.

This rumour has been building up for awhile, and to tell the truth...I'm not too sure its a rumour anymore. :(

The sales of Beckham and Butt were ok because; Beckham was getting bigger than the club and most United fans felt that it was time to sell him. Butt was mainly injured and was also not in the team that much.

But Giggsy is still a vital part of United's setup (in my opinion anyway). We don't even have a replacement lined up either. I really hope Fergie comes out soon and tells us whats really going on.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It looks like Fergie will play Ronaldo on the left and Fletcher on the right.

They're both not wingers.

I think we need someone in the mould of Joaquin, Vicente and Downing.

i didn't think he done that well.

suprised ronaldo didn't celebrate when he scored his first goal of the season.

scholesy was immense yet again.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i ll tell you why ronaldo didnt celebrate, he was upset throughout the entire match with his efforts. he couldve done miles better every time he touched the ball (even if everything he did, he did it magically). i think he was also crossed about missing the sitter, i got off me couch screaming when he did that.

anyhow, giggsy wasnt spectacular, he didnt touch the ball as much as scholes did but when giggsy did have the ball, it was reminiscent of his good old days and no one can argue about that chip to rooney who smashed it to the back of the net... top drawer

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ronaldo has now scored, Rooney and Scholes now have 4 goals each. Once Ruud is back next monday, hopefully, we'll be scoring as much as Arsenal. For the first time in the season, we've started going into games KNOWING we'll win it.

The only thing I'm concerned about is will Arsenal beat Chelsea. We better hope they do cuz realistically, Arsenal along with us are the only teams that can get points off Chelsea.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

we can always hope for some fluke draws here and there for chelsea. results like when we beat charlton but the arse tied west brom and when bolton held chelsea were good for us.

anyhow, great result against s'oton and probably couldve been more. rune is right, we are confident enough to walk into each match knowing we can win. we ve got fener away to close off our CL and a win can put us through tops, regardless, giving us a chance to play a weaker CL team.

fulham away is the second last league fixture we ve got before aston villa at home to close off the calendar year. we can finish off with a bang and like fergie said, we ll have a new year push for the league by no time.

CMON UNITED!!

Ronaldo didn't celebrate because minutes before Keane and Gary Neville had given him a right bollocking for chipping it over the bar from 3 yards out. Ronaldo looked like he was about to start crying.
A bit later, Keane passed it to Heinze who mis-controlled it, Keane started to bollock Heinze but he was having none of it and started to shout back at Roy in Argentinian or something. Needless to say, Keane shut his fucking mouth.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

A lil off topic, can anyone tell me why United, during Cantona's era back in the 90's had a Yellow/Lime Green away kit which looks good actually with black short and socks?....Anyone has a link to a site that I can see classic united kits?

1992/1993 season home kit. Umbro had taken over from Adidas. First time we (or any team) won the new Premiership.

1992/1993 blue away kit. Fookin` stunning!

mufc-kit92t.gif
1992/1993 3rd kit, which celebrated 100 years Newton+Heath. Bad memorys of Bruce missing penalty against Sheffield United in the FA Cup in this kit.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Thanks ninjabreakz...I still have that first Umbro United kit...classic,strings below the neckline, hahaha.Aint that Clayton Blackmore with that blue United away kit,it still looks 'dirty' to me.I had the green/yellow kit,but I gave it away I think, darn it.Looks good rite?....Imagine,nike remaking that kit, lime green, dortmund yellow....damn,we'd look 'fresh' in away games.....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I still have the white Umbro one that they used a few years later. I remember the green and yellow one but I can't remember that blue one. Was that like a third kit?
Personally, I like their current home one the most. IMO, it looks nicer.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

That blue kit was indeed the third kit.I think last season's kit is a classic,I'm not too sure about this seasons kit though,it is kinda plain. The Vodafone logo aligned in the middle below our crest was horrible, not to mention that its bigger than our crest!! Check this info out,do you guys know, why our kit design for this season is unlike any other nike kit template you see other teams wearing? Its because, its specifically designed in the US.

Nev's rant works wonders
Gary Neville's rollicking for Cristiano Ronaldo had the desired effect. Neville could claim both a physical and mental 'assist' as Ronaldo ended three months of frustration by finally breaking his goal duck for the season. He had run 50 yards to bawl his disgust at Ronaldo after he had casually frittered away the easiest of several chances when he tried to lift the ball over Kasey Keller but landed his effort on top of the net. Neville's blunt message was along the line of 'stop fannying around and give it some welly.' Three minutes later Ronaldo scored with a sweetly struck volley from 15 yards. He dared not miss because it was put on a plate for him by none other than his harshest critic.
Tim Gray, Daily Star

 That has made my day.
