Isn't he a Belgian player????
I know that the brother of Anderlecht player Junior is at Man Utd and that he would be in the squad for a ligue cup match...could be him...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Tomorrows game is another must win or we truly are out of the title race considering chelsea;s squad and arsenals. seein robben perform so well for chelsea is making me bitter! if only we wernt so cheap trying to get him for only 6m. Psv were only after 12m. Now our team looks bleak considerin we have no top player fightin for the left side position aswell as the right side which will cost us this season. ronaldo is automatic first choice and i can see him getting burnt out.

We wont sign anyone in january as we spent most money on rooney. I agree emre and scolari would be top class buys but we would have to be success this season in league or champions cup. Or sell some of our shit players in midfied who i dont think ne one would want to buy bcoz of old age or inexperience or just plain old shit.

Can anyone convince me that there is hope if we dont win tommorow which i think will be the case.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

after such a convincing performance by chelsea this afternoon, i am 99% confident that tomorrow is a make or break match.

darren fletcher is the man youre looking for on the right. he's no world beater yet, and his confidence has taken a big blow due to the fact that he has not started once in the league this year. however i feel after his 20+ starts last year, he has something else to prove. this way if ronnie gets burnt out, theres someone there to come on for him.

as for the left side, may emre could help, but he isnt the youngest left winger we can find, stewart downing has caught many eyes, and i dont know how many english clubs are after the lad.

cant wait for tomorrow

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

we need some world class players PERIOD! yes, Djemba and kleberson are POTENTIALLY good players. But those POTENTIALLY good players beat portsmouth??? The arsenal match is a one-off, yes i'm very happy man u beat them. but imagine the side with GIGI BUFFON and Emre in it? My god... we need to get rid of dead wood like the 2 so called midfielders we have. Atleast HIENZE is really something.... i say we are going to struggle against Newcastle. But i hope we can beat them... as long as i don't see Djemba or KLEB....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I can see Alex ferguson and man utd on a downward spiral. Our board is in a shambles,we now have to cut players wages because man utd have to change it to performance related. Im sure alot of the top earners in our squad are not going to be happy about that, consider were one of the richest clubs in the world. I think SAF lost the plot when he decided to buy djemba, bellion and kleberson

it only pisses me off to think that these were the only players around the world who could play for united that summer considerin misses out on plarers like Duff,Parker,Kewell,Scolari and Guttuso, proven high potential players not no name fringe players that cant cope in the premiership.

Today we are facing a strong newcastle team as good as ours in every department accept defence,so it should prove interestin. Kluivert and shearer is a masssive threat,if we are to win today we are going to have to put in 110% i think. We will have to play as we did against arsenal.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ryan giggs has turned down a contract that could see him at OT for an extended year. giggs, like north ireland international roy carroll, feels that he deserves a better deal and one that could possibly see him retire at manchester united

i agree that we need to pick up some world class talent, however, would you rather deter these attentions to keep our manchester united icon ryan giggs? or continue to try to buy players like gigi buffon or emre

Sorry mate, I`ve been away on holiday. Yeah, my girlfriend really loved the game (it halped that we won 4-1!) and she has followed United since she was about 9, so it was a great night for her. We got drunk as fook! Then made love afterwards!

Come on United! 3-1, another win at Newcastle, and when you look at it, look at the teams we beat this season - Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle - if we could just get results against teams like Portsmouth and Blackburn!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Did Ronaldo have a really poor game or what? I don't think he was able to contribute that much to the game at all.

Yeah and when he DID get the ball in good areas he was very greedy, seems his form has dipped somewhat. Also what was the deal with Rooney playing wide left? seems very strange to me?!?!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ive got a feeling ronaldo was feeling jaded. im really worried at the fact that giggsy was benched, i feel ronaldo shouldve started on the bench with fletcher on the right and giggsy on the left. i said im worried because that could be signs that he may be leaving soon.

stay giggs stay!

great result any way you look at it today

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

very disapointed with Ronaldo today, he was crap and was guilty of being extremely selfish. he will learn though.
Rooney was very good even on the left wing (whats up with that?!) and Fletcher really impressed , apart from his poor miss when he really should have scored. Nice to see him back in the team and with something to prove, and to be fair he did himself justice today

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I really hope Giggs stays. If he leaves there will HAVE to be a quality left winger to replace him. I'm sorry, but Miller and Kleberson are not wingers and can't fill in for him permanently. That also leaves Ronaldo as our main winger, and even he has been poor.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

yeah would be a real shame if giggs does leave
the guy is an absolute legend and has been so loyal to the club
imo he deserves to end his great career with us

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

and he wants to too! its not like he wants to leave. bloody "performance related" rubbish... giggs should be offered a contract that will see him hang up his boots at the theatre of dreams

miller will replace keano when the time comes, and i truly wish either fletcher or ronaldo will do the same when the welsh wizard calls time on his footballing career.

our midfield seems to be our only concern, im sure we will come out of this issue with the best possible result

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

tbh honest the only player around that i can see replacing giggs - as a genuine left footed winger - is Downing of 'boro. he looks a great prospect

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I say try to develop Saha's crossing. He's fast, has pretty good vision and could definitely cut in, plus he's played pretty well on the left wing already this season. Also, that would mean that at some points Ruud, Rooney, Saha and Smith could all be in at the same time, and that's just frightening :)

I disagree. Saha is a striker, not a winger. The first thing that goes through a winger's head is to get the ball into the box. The first thing that goes through a striker's head is to get a shot on goal.

I also think Saha is better as a striker. We need a natural left-sided winger.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah probably right, but if we can't sign anyone til the summer (after selling), then should SAF just keep letting giggs go at it?

Well Giggsy hasn't been THAT poor this season. People expect him to produce man-of-the-match displays every week, but no player can do that. And he is certainly better than Miller or Kleberson in that position.

If we have to sell players, I'd rather we sold Kleberson and maybe Djemba-Djemba. If we can get about £10 million between them, that should help.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

we played good against newcatle fletcher was great the only thing that bother me is wes brown the minute i saw him get in i knew he will make mistake and newcatle will score.
but anyway good game good win.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If I was SAF, I would buy Joaquin and play Ronaldo on the left. Problem solved.
What annoys so much is when we miss out on these big signings and then they go on to play really well at their new clubs. Robben would have been such a great replacement for Giggs. And he’s only a year older than Ronaldo.

We can thank ever-loyal Peter Kenyon for the Robben mess up. Joaquin is more than likely going to either Real Madrid or Chelsea, unless United break the bank (which we can't).

Don't worry - we professed we had no money and pulled out Reyes. I'm sure there is some kitty for January for The Devils.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

And we can always sell Kleberson and Djemba so theres still hope. I could imagine Kleberson playing for Real Betis.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Klberson could play anywhere for as long as it not old trafford! i hope he goes to mexico or peru or something like that. Just one world class keeper and 2 midfilders will complete the squad.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i have heard a lot about us looking for a new keeper but tbh i really hope carroll signs a new contract, he has looked really assured as our number 1 and i would love to see him stay

Whats wrong with Carroll and Howard? Both of them are great keepers. Maybe your standards have been set too high by Schmeichel but Carroll and Howard are arguably 2 of the best keepers in the premiership.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Carroll has been fantastic lately. Against Newcastle, everything that came near him he delt with superbly. He also orders his back line (like a certain Dane).
