Against Charlton? I highly doubt that. Especially with Charlton's poor away record and everything.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rooney played very well!! He's good for man. utd.

yeah hopefully we can get rid of djemba djemba in january,i thought we should of gone for scottt parker when he was available at charlton. We also need cover for giggs, thats why we desperatly need to win something big this season so we can get some real money to spend in the summer. Its such a big season for us,but i love the whole drama and pressure thats on United, its just amazing that we are such an exciting club on and off the pitch, we never fail to impress.

should parker stayed at charlton last year he must have been 1 of the contender for scholesy's spot in england. now he's challenging with smertin and duff for a spot in the bench. next thing you know hes sold to wolves or sheff utd or QPR.

on another note, c.ronaldo should be a great cover for giggs when he retire, we have fletcher and kleberson on the right doing all the magic.

2-2 bolton
1-0 man.c
1-1 rosenborg

not impressive at all.. goons going down this week!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If Robben comes back for Chelsea, he'll definately hold on to the left wing position so should we then make a offer for Duff again?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Its left to be seen,if we could buy a left winger in january. Its been said that we must sell,in order to buy again, which i truly find, bollocks.

We dont need a winger, we need a defensive midfielder. Ronaldo can play on both wings, so can Giggs. Fletcher, Bellion and Kleberson can ALL play on the wing.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Boro up next at OT. I expect Keane and Ronaldo will be back. Maybe Rooney on the bench.

My team:

GK) Carroll
DR) G.Neville
DL) Heinze
DC) Rio
DC) Silvestre
MR) Ronaldo
ML) Giggs
MC) Keane
MC) O'Shea
FW) Smith
FW) Ruud.

With Rooney coming off the bench someway through the match.

hmmm we could do with competition for Giggs, we get the best out of him then, I like see him and Giggsy swap during the game, defenders dont know where to go.

Ronnie is best on the right, the others you mentioned arent good enough for a variety of reasons:

Bellion is getting better but as a forward his defending is woeful

Fletcher is a CMF, on the right in the final third his decision making is poor,

kleberson, maybe, but ive seen him out there a few times and he looks lost, but then again he can look lost in his natural position.

For me with such a strong left foot and good pace Saha could slot in at LMF/LWF, especially now we've got such a good LB in Heinze.

All in all we're seeing improvements all over, yeah the defending still needs to get tighter and the midfield is still short of abit of steel but compared to a few weeks ago the future is brighter and I dont see why we cant reclaim Our Trophy, all this arsenal hype, is just that, hype. We'll see if they can keep there nerve instead doing there usual trick of bottling it when they get a decent challenge.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What i dont get is why AF is persisting with O'Shea in the holding role, when Phil Nev seemed assured there a couple of seasons ago?

i would like to know exactly the same thing tbh
phil neville does the simple things well in the middle of the park and gets 'stuck in', i for one would prefer to see p.nev in the CM position

any site where i can download the goals?

Check the Video Goals thread by HASSAN. IT's stickied to the top of this section. It shold be there cuz Hassan is da man.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rooney's performance was not magical. It was downright sexual. :D

I was stunned by what i saw in his first game back, his first game for ManU and his first Champs League game.

:applause:

Anyone able to post vid of the goals? Stupid Fox Sports World News didn't have them, neither did the earlier Sky sports. Grrr I hate stupid liscensing crap...

CHeck Video Goals thread in this section.

Also, think about joiing uefa.com for $40/year. You can watch all the games on a delayed basis on the same day if you want, or just highlights from each game.

You get live audio of alot of games, to.

Best $$ i have spent.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ghazi, it's the quality any good? meaning video and audio!

not that i need, i already have a channel where i can see any game LIVE!
just curious...

But this a problem every successful team has. I'm sure Chelsea and Arsenal have the same problem. Every single United fan gets labeled as gloryhunters when its only a select few.

i know mate, im not blaming the clubs at all. these people would latch onto who evers succesful which is why it gets my back up.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ghazi 3 posts in 4 minutes? good job!

phil neville made a not-so-subtle reminder to SAF about playing him ahead of sheasy. i dont remember what it was exactly he said, but it was something playing experience in CL. meaning him instead of oshea, kleber, djemba and bellion perhaps?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

SAF Is looking to sign Jaaskalainen (sp?) in January. Is that a good move?
I know he's a good keeper but how old is he?
He'd make a good replacement for Carroll if he leaves cuz Carroll's contract runs out this summer.

whats your point, there was a stretch of 10 games where ruud was utter shite, howard is still young and progressing, he will makes saves carroll cannot, if they work on the mental mistakes howard will be a bad ass once again

Exactly. One thing I notice is how much more atheltic Howard is compared to Carroll who normally can't jump higher than 1 foot. Howard just needs good defenders to help him out with his confidence and now that we have Rio back, Fergie needs to play him. [-o<

Where was the Roy Keane interview you was on about Vann ?

Part one is in the summer edition of UWS and the second part in the latest edition.

You can get United fanzines in pretty much any newsagents in Manchester or if you live outside of Manchester you'd have to find a shop that specialises in that sort of thing failing that log on the site and get yaself a subscription cos there a great read, even players read them to find things out lol.

Ey Saunders why so touchy about Howard, he's got a future at the club dont worry!!

If there's one thing about American sportsmen, it's although most are not very skillfull they make up for it with their athleticism. Americans are great athletes. I think this might have to do with the popular sports in the US (football for instance requires more athleticism from a player than creativity or skills).
They also have very good mentality, which is why they probably are good athletes to begin with.

Tim Howard seems to have too much pressure on him and looks like he's under stress. I don't remember him being like that before he started to concede goals after our defense got fucked, he seems like the kind of keeper that blames himself a bit for every goal (I recall him saying something like that in an interview).
