Sorry to say fellas you're going out of the Carling Cup at the first hurdle. Must pain ya'll to be playing the mighty Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road. The smell of fish 'n' chips will waft over the hallowed turf while the mercurial skills of Kenny Lunt rip athunder the reserve team defense as Jonah nips in to score and Deano blasts it in from 30 yards. Of course we'll then immediately concede equalisers like we've done in our past two games against Sunderland and Leeds. Two rather big teams or so they thought... before they played us :)

But seriously, hope there'll be a full ground, couldn't manage it for Leeds first team in the league so Man Utd yoof in the meaningless cup could be a stretch especially if its on the telly, ooh.

Rossi > Crewe. ;)

I personally would go after Maniche in he summer he is young dynamic and has all the right qualities we need!

What 10m should do and also buy Sneijder for the Left!

Maniche is more of a CMF. Althought he played in that pot several times already, is best position is surely CMF!

Positions i've seen him play in -> CMF (mostly) DMF, LMF, RMF, OMF!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

But he's still a good defensive player which is why he would be a great buy for us.
I personally think he's overrated. He's good but not as good as people make him out to be.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

"Soccer star at seven

He stands just 4ft 6in and started playing football seriously only a year ago. But at the age of seven, Jack Higginson is already one of the hottest properties in the game. Five Premiership clubs Manchester United, Manchester City, Bolton, Everton and Liverpool - all approached Jack's parents after scouts spotted him scoring 37 times last season for an under-eights team in his home town of Rochdale. In the end he opted for the junior squad of United, where he has scored seven goals in two games.
Andrew Levy, Daily Mail"

First Ronaldo, then Rooney, then Rossi and now Higginson. Man U's new signings seem to get younger and younger.
7 goals in 2 at a young age is great. But we'll be waiting atleast 10 more years before we actaully see him in the first team squad.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

haha yea, even if the lad is scoring like that now, you never know what's gonna happen in the future. we can only hope he keeps this up till his premiership days

and speaking of rooney, he was involved in a vehicle incident today:

from soccernet
Rooney guilty of motoring charge

Wayne Rooney has been found guilty of failing to produce driving documents, it emerged today.

The 18-year-old England and Manchester United striker was driving a BMW X5 in Liverpool on May 6 when he was pulled over by police.

He was ordered to attend a police station to produce his driving licence and insurance certificate but failed to do so.

He was summoned to Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Monday this week but did not attend and was found guilty in his absence.

He will be sentenced at the same court on October 4.

Rooney's agent Paul Stretford declined to comment.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

cudicini has been one, if not THE, best keepers in the last few years of the prem
i would be very happy if we could sign him, but i cant see it happening

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Tim Howard makes some stupid mistakes and everyone's screaming for Cuducini.
Have you guys forgotten the similarly stupid mistakes that he's made. He gave Thierry Henry a goal when he let an easy ball roll under him after catching it, don't remember it really good but I do remember it was really stupid. And how 'bout when Ruud got lucky against him last season, looked pretty stupid and also gave us the equaliser.
Fergie usually doesn't buy big-name players since he's always looking for younger talent and looks to the future of the club, but when it comes to GKs I wish he would have a different view. We used to have the greatest goal keeper in the world (at the time).
I think that, offered enough, we could get an awesome keeper like Toldo or maybe even Buffon, I wonder if someone like Cassillas could be convinced of coming to OT in January?
Now personally, it would be a dream to have Guanluigi Buffon in goal for us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It was time to give Tim a rest, we've got a decent keeper (and a nutter) in Caroll. Howard is young for a keeper, look at Friedel its only the past few seasons that he's come on and he's played over here for a while now. A few reserve games will be a good education for the fella.

Big game at Spurs for us tomorrow, after beating the kopshite on Monday we need another win to get the season going, we've done well at spurs recently but spurs look different now, yeah Santini is probley gonna park the team bus infront of the goal but they have enough talent up front to do us some damage if we give them the chance, tomorrow wont be as easy as Monday for Rio but Fergie wont wanna change the back four so he'll play.

Hope he playes Ronaldo but with CL game next week I can see him resting ar' Ronnie.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Oh and fingers crossed he plays with two strikers up front........

God fordid........

I know im not the only one who remembers what it used to be like when we played a normal 4-4-2, yeah I know in big away games playing one up front is sometimes necessary but c'mon Fergie tomorrow, Ruud and Smith upfront, Rooney on the bench!!

yes because Buffon doesnt make mistakes either? every keeper makes mistakes cudicini is a very good keeper

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think, the thought is finally setting in that Tim Howard's career cant last very long due to his illness(No disrespect).Thats why United secretly are still looking for a new goalkeeper. :(

It's not a matter of Buffon not making mistakes, it's just that he's plainly the better keeper IMO.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuud!!!

spurs 0-1 man utd
v.nistelrooy (pen)

sounds like silvestre is having another strange match.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Silvestre knocked heads with Carroll, if that's what you mean.
Could this be the true start to our season?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Great result today, against an in-form (and unbeaten) Spurs team. Before the debate DEFINATELY a penalty, Ruud converted it with quality, Silvestre and Rio marked Defoe out of the game, and Ronaldo was spectacular at times (which is a big FOOK YOU to all the piss-takers last season who said Ronaldo was shite, eat ya words suckers) 3 points, 2 wins in a row, lets move forward to Tuesday and beat the Turks . . .

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Always a difficult game against the Londoners, especially this season. Not a great win but 3 points nonetheless.I'm still fuming about O'Shea playing in midfield,he does not contribute enough in attack,Scholes,Kleberson and Flecther would fair better there.Smith was quiet today,I thought Cristiano looked tired at times and Spector should play at RB instead of Brown.4th place and lets march on,C'mon United!!!

The feeblest attempt at stirring up controversey? "I do not understand this shituation"

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I hope Fergie doesn't take Fenerbahce for granted and play a weakened team. We need to win our home games.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

this is getting ridicuolous now.

why do manchester united cheat there way to scrape a point or a victory near enough EVERY single game they play?

i think the FA should seriously look into this, as they really shouldnt have had a penalty today

never should have had the corner or free kick against liverpool

never should have had the extra minute against blackburn

never should have been allowed saha to handle the ball and put it in the net against bolton i think i cant remeber

but every game i have seen of them its disgusting, and i think ferguson has a lot to say in the ref's decsions
