Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If both Rooney and Rio are in the team today, is there anyone else left that we need to be waiting for other than Gary Neville?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Only saha. So we should be at full strength but i dont think rooney will feature.

My opiniion is that djemba djemba should be played as a right bk coz i remember fergie saying when the player first joined that he can play in that position. also djemba is good at battling and tackling for the ball, just not a good decision maker nor a good passer at that.

smith and rvn should do well tonight although only second game playing together.

Gary Neville is a better crosser than Djemba and we need something like that. And with the form Djemba is playing at, do you ever want him in the team again?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well its the big one tonite, gotta see a big improvement, this is probley the best LFC side to come to our place for a few seasons, dont think they'll be as defensive as GH used to be but it wont be very open either.

Great to see Rio back, no news on Rooney tbh, not sure whether Fergie will put him on the bench, make the mickeys abit nervous.

All I can say is thank fuck Murphy isnt playing.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'm more hyped up for this than I would be for a Man U - Arsenal game.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I really hope Fergie puts Rooney on the bench.

I'm also really looking forward to the game.

I've never really been arsed about the arsenal games, LFC are our biggest rivals, thats probley equal to the derby with city, but Arsenal....nah

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Its true what vann said, this is probably one of the best ever LFC side to face us for the last few seasons. They are a solid team these days, should be a cracker of a game. Its been said that this match might be our turning point of the season, hopefully it would be,fingers cross.A win would also bring us higher to the table with 9 points bearing in mind Chelski and them Goons managed only a point each for their respective last games.C'mon United!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Should be a good game tonight, hopefully this will be the turning point of the season
It will be a great atmosphere inside Old Trafford tonight for Rio and Rooney, but its the 3 points thats most important so come on United!

I agree. It won't do a lot of good if Chelsea and Arsenal keep dropping points and we keep failing to take advantage.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Is Ronaldo better than Giggs at the same age?

Good question dont ya think?

1-O and loving it!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Good half. Still having problems finishing, O'Shea's header was open from 10 feet, should've had that one. Ronaldo deserves a goal. Really encouraging stuff, Liverpool aren't in bad form, United just looking very good.

But...without a big goal cushion, i'm still eagerly awaiting full time whistle...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

oh my goodness, I'M GOING CRAZY !!! GOOD DAM LIVE TRACKER AND THE MU RADIO....;-)

HAHAHA, 11 TO 3 SHOTS (6-2 OFF TARGET) IT SEEMS LIKE WE ARE ABLE TO PLAY OUR FOOTBALL FROM 2002 !!!!

HOPE THE 2nd PERIODE GOES THE SAME WAY...

HOLA !!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well deserved win, but no real confidence in the last 15 mins. Ronaldo was great again, Giggs looked alright. Defence is still shaky, and I don't think O'Shea was all that useful at all. Also, any neutral supporters, did you think Graham Poll was seriously keen to give fouls to Liverpool around the distance they scored from? It got a little ridiculous there, anytime there was any contact he'd whistle, but when Hyypia tried to drag down RVN, or pulled Giggs back, nadda. Normally I like him as a ref cause he lets the play go on unless its a serious foul, but I thought he seemed to want to see it even out.

Our defence just needs to play 2gether longer but hey the gaps closing!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

what the hell kind of set piece defending was that. no man marking and no zonal covering. i couldn't see you guys scoring from open play unless it was from ronaldo. he had a really good game tonight. :(

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Congrats guys! This win plus Rio's return will hopefully mark a rise in confidence for the team. Hope the wins keep coming.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Heinze the main man he was fantastic, ronaldo getting better and better,Rio was just amazing if only fergie realises to put rio and heinze together it would be a great partnership, also brown done brilliant as right bk tonight.

I still think smith should have started tonight ahead of scholes, but otherwise happy with performance and hopefully wayne rooney will be next to return to give united a boost like rio did tonight.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

very happy tonight
first half we looked awesome, second half we were shaky and were unlucky with the own goal, but we won so who cares
absolutely great to see rio back!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Great result (always nice to beat the scousers), superb first half performance, bit shakey 2nd half, but we conceded a sloppy goal, kept our heads and scored the winner. Also a big "FOOK YOU" to all the Silvestre-haters, 2 goals, solid performance from both he and Rio (who won man-of-the-match). 3 points, lets move on, and win the next.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

boy, i dont know where to start here. i really dont know if i should be glad or not silvestre bagged two tonight

i really just wished he would be more consistent, looks like you lads were right, rio & silvestre were awesome, they clearly feed off of each other
