Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

RIO!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday is the day our fortunes change

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

RUUUUUUD!! It's was so great to see Ruud get those two goals. That header was really something.
I've got a feeling we'll be doing much better after this match....Hopefully

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Jeeez...thanks to Ruud,we were saved today. We kept making silly mistakes and giving too much of the ball away. Not in the premiership, never in champions league,we'll get punished for that as shown tonight.I thought we finished the stronger team as we played much much better in the second half.Heinze,Giggs and Ruud played well tonite and hope they will continue to do so in the coming games as we welcome back on Monday, next a certain kiddo named Wayne.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

bloody, almost had a heart attack... i was surprised djemba started in place of smith. scholes should never play at attack because he loves holding the ball up, and sending the strikers. he should have been in the midfield, where djemba was, and smith shouldve started

cant wait for monday, but i ll be sulking over this draw against lyon for a couple hours

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

well, happy that Van Nistelrooy is back to shape with theses goals, and it's a really big boost of confidence in the attacking side when we play at Anfield monday....but on the other hand...the first goal against us will leave the "already weak" defense with less confidence between the goalie and the players...

i didn't watch the game, but saw live commentary and we really did play bad...

on the other hand, Rio is back monday? so hope that he can help lead our defense back to what we should have!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can someone explain to me why Alex Ferguson seems to select players' postions out of a hat? Thanks.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ive got to agree, djemba should have never started tonight... like i said earlier. the only way i see him starting ever again, is if in fact he draws names out of a hat for the starting positions.

and im quite sure the venue will be OT, and white hart lane the week after that (to goku)

i agree, but there's nothing more i want to do but to move on. soo let's look at the other fixture in our group stage, Fener 1-0 Sparta (van Hooijdonk 16')

pierre is riding a streak of good games, that's three gols in two (the other being WC qualifiers against the czech). now by looking forward, i mean seeing how we 're gonna tackle fener at home in a fortnight

personally, i think several prem wins should fit us fine

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Fenerbache tonite has also shown us that they are game enuff for Champions League football. With star players like Alex,PV Hooijdonk and Rustu,I'm sure they are a tough nut to crack. They won 1 nil too against the supposedly 'always difficult' team to play against,Sparta Prague,in the CL.Our group is not a weak as the media thought it would be.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

hellas,

wahts wrong with us ? since the CL qualifier we didnt won a game ? that's bad, REALLY bad !!! we must come on track otherwise we get a very disappointing jear again !!! i was really scary to watch the game last night...i hope the things will change....we need a fantastic game, where we able to score some 4 or 5 goals...like the other jears....

come on mancunia......

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Heinze is looking like a top signing but i think he should be playing in the centre of defense,he is also very strong and determind a bit like Stam but more agile.

Djemba Djemba is just a joke. the amount of times he lost the ball last night was not good enough ,maybe for a team like wolves but not Manchester Utd. Ive got to say i will be pleased to see fish-faced Roy Carroll in goal for once although i do miss the shady and crafty Barthez.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I cant believe Silvestre isnt coming in for any stick, he was feckin' awful last night, the mans form and confidence have taken a nose dive, he's been rank all season , following on from a shocking Euro 2004, where he conceded two penalties and numerous mistakes and bookings. Did Rio really make him look that good? The defences lack of form has started to affect Howard as well now , so we have a Keeper with no confidence ijn the men in front of him , and now a defence with no confidence in the keeper, thank feck rio's back for the dippers on Monday.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So much pressure is gonna be on Rio to perform next game. Hope he's still got it after 8 months of not playing a single match.
Heinze is a solid defender, even as left-back he's giving a good defensive preformance that would be expected of a CB.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

have to agree with some of the comments on here regarding silvestre and o'shea
both have been very, very poor so far this season. silvestre has his dodgy moments and he seems to be having them far to often. I am gutted about o'shea and his poor form, he geniunely looked a 'class act' in his first season in the first team but over the last year he doesnt seem the player he once was, which is a real shame. Hope both get back to thier best soon and i cannot wait for rio's return

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

...i hope the pool game comes in the right moment....agree with Lumlum with the rio thing, hope he can stand the man !

my back 4 (from left!) at the moment --> silvester - heinze - rio - phil (or djemba, why not ?)

have to disagree, the goal against howard in last nights game was a mistake, but then again he prevented a goal with a spectacular save in the early moments. Sir Alex should stick with howard. The goal for bolton was not his fault, not sure why sir alex blamend the keeper on that one, ither then the bothced goal against lyon howard played fine

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Phil Neville - Rio - Heinze-ah or whatever they call him - Silvestre
Thats the best back line we can have at the moment. One of the possible causes of the defensive problems was that we had 3 left sided defenders out of 4.

Anyone know what the chances of Rooney playing on Monday are?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ask djemba to fack off back to where ever he comes from! nantes, france or africa!!!!!!
i have neva seen a player give the ball away so many times in a match... and his shooting... what the hell? why did Phil Neville not play in midfield, like he did so well 2 seasons ago!!! remember how he kept vieira quiet when they met 2 seasons ago????

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i think the team should be:

----------Howard

Spector Rio Brown Heinze

Ronnie Keano Scholesy Giggsy

-------Smithy

--------------Van the Man

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

sorry, i agree with ur line-up, yet, i would change a few things...kick howard out for Caroll, i know, Howard has been trying really hard, but two mistakes in two consecutive games? i think he needs to sit down and realize that those mistakes can't happen to the man between the Man Utd pipes...so i would put Caroll on...

as for Spector, i still feel that Phil can do a better job than Spector...so i would put Neville in...

as for Rio, i love this guy, even though he was banned, he still practised almost every training session to keep himself in shape and so that he is totally fit for his first comeback (monday)...so i have full confidence in him, and of course with the magnificent plays of Van Nistelrooy, i am sure that we will win against Liverpool monday!!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Could it be? We're coming close to a possible semi-complete first team?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Actually,we all should spare a thought for Howard. The man's never fully fit in my opinion, hes playing with a disease for God's sake.Did you guys see that he twitched more than usual under pressure especially during the Lyon game? I came into thinking that his eyes twitching hindered his concentration. To be where he is now,is absolutely phenomenal.Howard will still be my number 1,and if anyone has forgotten, hes still only 24.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

...as I say, fergie rebuild a new team and we need patience !!! howard is form me too our n.1 !

i think we need a run of dame good games....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Stop giving Djemba so much shit guys! He aint that bad - Howard fucked up last night, Silvestre is starting to become a liability, and we are yet to see Ferdinand. I would play:

Howard

G. Neville Ferdinand Brown Heinze

Ronaldo Scholes Keane Giggs

Rooney

V. Nistlerooy

Its a totally different picture when we have these boys, in this formation IMO.
