Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

my line up was for the match against liverpool.

i would choose to field a different set of players if they would have been fit to play.

sorry, i agree with ur line-up, yet, i would change a few things...kick howard out for Caroll, i know, Howard has been trying really hard, but two mistakes in two consecutive games? i think he needs to sit down and realize that those mistakes can't happen to the man between the Man Utd pipes...so i would put Caroll on...

as for Spector, i still feel that Phil can do a better job than Spector...so i would put Neville in...

as for Rio, i love this guy, even though he was banned, he still practised almost every training session to keep himself in shape and so that he is totally fit for his first comeback (monday)...so i have full confidence in him, and of course with the magnificent plays of Van Nistelrooy, i am sure that we will win against Liverpool monday!!!!!
howard did not fuck up at bolton, it was silvestre, ITS ALWAYS THE KEEPERS BALL, any good defender knows that

C'mon dude he's as culpable as Silvestre, and as an American you should know better than most that there is rarely an excuse for fumbling a ball, its just not on.

I anticipated Howard having a "dodgy" 2nd season, IMO fergie should have put him in the reserves for a year (last year) just to get used to certain situations and have a better feel for the English game. Dont get me wrong he's got all the right tools but its difficult for most "young" keepers never mind a keeper from a lesser footballing country. Fergie will know what to do though, it took The Great Dane a good few years to turn into (at the time) the best keeper in the world so there is plenty of time for Howard, changing him now is just gonna bring more disruption to the defense.

why is he as culpable, i dont see it..... howard had the ball, silvestre basically stole it.....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Shouldn't Howard have left that ball for the defenders in the first place? There were two defenders with Les Ferdinand. Heinze looked like he would've gotten it anyway.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

no communicating, because after the play, everyone had their hands up. like *WHAT ARE YOU DOING*, usually if there is a clear cut culprit (like walter samuel on berbatov's gol in CL play recently, where i think casillas couldve saved the ball), he (samuel in that case) would be the one looking down at his boots

Always makes silly mistakes?? Stop being so stereotypical.Mistakes are easier to spot than bravery and saves..

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Anyone got stats for Man U for games that Rio hasnt been involved in? And those that he was playing in last season?

Cheers.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

How they missed Rio

----------------------With Rio----Without Rio
Games--------------21-----------22
Wins---------------- 15-----------9
Win %--------------71%---------41%
Draws---------------2------------7
Defeats--------------4------------6
Goals for------------39-----------30
Goals against-------15-----------25

there you go

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Who would you guys play at the back?

(1)Ferdiand / Silvestre

(2)Ferdinand / Brown

(3)Ferdinand / O`Shea

(4)Ferdinand / Heinze

(5)Ferdinand / G.Neville

Or other? Personally, at the moment I would play Ferdinand / Brown.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

hard to say, im sure SAF would not play ferdy/silvestre purely because they used to to work well together; not that im saying hes not gonna start him. basically my point is that fergie is gonna start whomever he feels comfortable with

tbh, im not sure who should start

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

isnt brown injured though?
I think rio has to play against 'pool, a half fit not match ready rio is 10x better than silvestre
tbh if o'shea was in good form i would play him left back and put heinze and rio at cb, but i suppose we could always put silvestre there anyway

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I believe Rio will make it for the game on Monday. The question is,whether from the start or the bench.Brown and Silvestre from the start for me and Rio to come off the bench sometime during the game ala the Messiah,Eric Cantona.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The Mancs are oncourse for the worst season ever, they were lucky to scrape a point last week. Should have walked away with nothing, the return of Van Nistelroj and and the future appearance of the roonstar won't be enought to save the ship, whatch the rats abandon Man United as they sink to new depths in the English Premier League.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Has anyone ever tried getting a wallpaper from manutd.com ?

When I log in to get one, it just leaves me on a pop up screen telling me im logged in with no wallpaper!

any helpers, cheers

Rio and Brown takes my cut...i like Brown way more than Silvestre...but Silvestre still is remembered as a decent defender a few seasons back

One word to describe Silvestre = clumsy

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i'm 60% confident that manutd will win the match because l'pool lost Murphy... so i think the result will be 1-0 rvn to score

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

"Many pundits believe the title is two-horse race between Arsenal and Chelsea, but French flyer Henry feels The Red Devils will be a danger to all.

"People are trying to say Man U is out out of the race, but I don't think so and we will see at the end," he told Sky Sports News. "At the end, it is always tight."

The Red Devils face arch rivals Liverpool on Monday, a game which could witness the return of Rio Ferdinand, and many feel it is a must-win encounter for Sir Alex Ferguson's charges.

Henry, though, feels a draw would not be the end of the road for the Old Trafford club.

"I don't see it like that," he said when questioned on the importance of Monday's encounter.

"We had so many points ahead of them in 2003 and we did not win it, so you have to wait until the end of the season before you talk."

hrm, ive had this problem before. try accessing the site through IE (unfortunately, that's the only way i get in). from there, enter your email and password. after typing this in, click log in and a pop up showing you the different man utd packages you can sign up for will appear. from there, just close that pop up, and access the fanzone for your wallpaper.
