Manchester United Thread

Saint Patrice...and yes he is a massive cunt...sorry to rain on your parade Man Utd fans...

Out of interest, why? Other than the Suarez thing, can't really work out why anyone would 'hate' Evra.

He's never injured anyone I can think of, never had a red card, and has played 80% of United matches in the last 7 years. Other than choosing to pursue being racially abused, not sure what he's done to earn your ire?

How bout calling Arsenal players bunch of boys...he hated the fact back in France everyone loves Arsenal. He said 'why they don`t win nothing and they always lose to us Mutd.

He became more loved by MUTD by doing so. So I get the admiration from Mutd fans. I have no love for him then and especially what he did for captaining France. Imagine Germany calling Brasil bunch of boys after winning a match.

In this thread, if you call a player a cunt, then you hate him...
During the Suarez incident Evra behaved like a cunt.
And do i need to mention the previous WC ?

Evra behaved like a 'cunt' for being racially abused? what a foolish thing to say.

Evra may not have the best of ther personalities, but he's a very professional player. The Suárez incident is something that happens in the field quite often. Evra was no saint there, must have call him this and the other, but of course Suárez was out of line with racism. People tend to take players character to much in consideration. His job is to play, not to be a role model. And as a player he showed loyalty and give it all for Man U. That more than enough to be remembered as Man U legend by their fans.

I'd forgotten about the WC thing, yes definitely did himself no credit there.

Not entirely sure how one can blame him for the Suarez thing. I guess he should have just shut up and taken the racial abuse. That's what players should do to get it out of football.

He did well in the aftermath of Suárez incident. Situation like these must be removed from out game, and the victims must come forward, otherwise the problem will linger.
But that night, he was no angel on the pitch either.

He's a cunt because he was good and told you about it, nothing wrong with that in my book.

He was also spot on about those Arsenal teams.

your heads gone mate, talkin' shit about evra because he was racially abused? how would you react if some deformed cannibalistic prick started saying all this racist to you.. act like a fucking saint? i doubt it
also, don't forget evra was a brilliant player and one of the best left back to ever play in the premier league until last couple years anyway so no doubt he gonna be a legend for man utd fans..

When was I talking about shit Evra for being racially abused? Do you think Suárez call him the n-word over nothing? Evra was talking shit/doing shit before Suárez did, IIRC.
However, this does NOT justify Suárez' behaviour. One thing are insults, which are normal when emotions run high, other thing completely different is racial abuse a person. That's out of line.

Spanish can't be translated to English w/ the same exact meaning (guilty of insulting Evra for describing his height/colour) Evra threw insults but didn't cross the line as Suarez did. You play w/ fire you may get burn. Anyways Mutd fans should love Evra .
Terry used The words 'black cunt.'.. Puto Negro ? (Spanish)Anyway it's daft to even compare naming calling when Suarez actually chews off skin. I can never see a player at Arsenal calling Mutd boys 'IF' we hammer them 8-2 .RVP was that boy and now the captain of Mutd. Evra likes to belittle ppl and Suarez didn't take name calling lightly.

Haha nearly the entire team subbed at half time

Edit: is there anything Herrera doesn't see? Him and Mata will be an assist making machine.

Herrera looked excellent. Great for James too.

Not sure you can read much into this, but a great watch anyway.

Aye don't want to get too excited yet but the team already seems to have much more fun and despite poor defensive opposition, Herrera s ability to pick out a player and push the ball forward was very evident. Loved LVG s post game interview on Fox "so what do you look forward to doing during your time in the US"? LVG:" Well I have to work.. "

Of course you can't blame Evra for the racial abuse.
It's his reaction afterwards (in the weeks and months afterwards, for example when they played each other afterwards) that i didn't like.

It showed adistinct lack of class

Oh and we are discussing Evra here, not Suarez...i wonder if ....

I think Evra is a legend in the club because he gave it his all in the shirt and played greatly for 8 years winning many trophies and was a fan of the team/shirt as well.

I won't say he's a role model, also won't say he's the best in the club, but as a player, he definitely was good enough to be called "legend" of Man Utd.

Interesting to see a 3-5-2 formation, I wonder how that'd work with the rest of the squad back...will it be caught by teams like Man City or Chelsea or the quick Arsenal in the EPL??

I thin kMutd looked good last night, its a friendly but the movement in the middle was great. The 3 at the back is a opt I like it.

Gotta give props to LVG for only needing a week to get not one but 2 XIs to play in a formation they've virtually never used, and at least not look uber-confused.

But, I'm not sure it's a long term good idea. As smart as LVG is, is he that much smarter than every manager that has coached in the prem for the last 20 years? Because no one has been able to get a 3 at the back system working well in modern premier league era, not that I can think of anyway (and by well I mean challenging for the title). I'm not a FM/tactics guru but I am a stats guru, and so just looking at the numbers, there's a lot of evidence that 3-5-2, for whatever reason, doesn't work in England.

That said, seeing Mata play behind the forward line, in a pocket of space...it was so beautiful ;)

One thing you should be able to give United players is tactical flexibility. Towards then end you had literally no f*cking clue what Fergie was going to ask them to do each week. Stick a striker as a holding midfielder? Okay. Fullback and a winger in central midfield? Sure. Two fullbacks as wingers? Yep. Midfielder as centre backs? Sure.

So maybe they will be prepared and able ot switch formations week in week out. Would be impressive.

Herrera looked immense on his debut, linked beautifully with Mata who looked at ease as the number 10.

Good start :)) LVG also mentioned he's playing 3-5-2 because the players are already more used to 4-3-3 (our primary formation going forward IMO) and needs to get them quickly up to speed on 'Plan B' which is the 3-5-2.
