Manchester United Thread

I knew this Moyes and Martinez plan would work well for us.

Both teams were pretty dire second half. You were there for the taking but we couldn't counter attack.

Not sure how Lucas managed to survive till 90 before he got booked.

Are you going to sign anyone tomorrow? I can't see you doing anything with that team...

That team is a bit misleading though, that area between Carrick and Van Persie wasn't good enough, we need to sign a central midfielder, atleast one.

If we do that, then just need to start picking the right players, Nani, Kagawa, Rooney, Zaha, Januzaj are all much more creative options than the ones we started today such as a past it Giggs and Young who is abysmal.

Once we can get 2 of those consistently in a lineup we'll be miles better in terms of creating things.

We could also sign fucking Ozil who looks available.

Nice to finally see everyone coming around on Giggs. Starting g him is literally a footballing liability and has been for 2 years now.

Him finally being allowed out if the team was supposed to be one if the pluses of a new manager.

I still value Giggs as he still has a lot to offer. As part of the coaching staff, and also as veteran presence for about 20-30 minutes in the big matches. He can come on and still help change a game. But not for 60-90 minutes!!! I still think Moyes doesn't really know his players well and is way too scared.

I'm probably one of the few evo-webbers who has seen Giggs as a 17 year old starting in the first eleven.
I also understand that much comments about him are sarcasm and that perhaps Giggs should know better and end his football carreer (but is that really so ???).

On the other hand i have difficulties with the sarcatic comments about both Giggs and Scholes. Both players are IMO among the best ever players Man Utd has had.

I see 5 all-time legends with Man Utd:
Charlton
Cantona
Schmeichel
Giggs
Scholes

From the current crop nobody comes even close to the ability and the success both Giggs and Scholes have got.

There is much talk about Ronaldo and Best, but both Scholes and Giggs have brouhgt much, much more to United than those two legends.

Once again, i know the comments are meant to be sarcatic and are more directed to other people (who do the transfers and to Moyes), but i feel those commenst as some injustice towards both legendary players.

Just be patient and give Moyes a couple of seasons, after all Ferguson wasn't exactly an instant hit himself....

Winning things is much more sweeter after a (relatively) bad patch, that is imo the essence of supporting a football club: the good and the bad days.

Just felt i had to write this...no offense meant to anyone...

Asking Mutd supporters for patients doesn`t exist. That like asking the world not to use e-mail or internet! After 10 games you have a more settle squad.

Says the Arsenal fan!!

Giggsy is my favourite player anyway, sort of feel we should be privileged to still see him playing at 40 years old. But at the same time I don't think it was the right tactical choice against an energetic pressing Liverpool side.

Starting Giggs at 40, in a four man midfield, on the right.

I mean that says it all, I don't think Giggs should call it quits but he's not somone who should start games for us unless its at Old Trafford against a side were most likely going to dominate or he can come on to add experience and compusure in the last 20-30 minutes of a game.

That midfield of 'Giggs-Cleverley-Carrick-Young' just looks awful, Liverpool clearly had the better players in that area of the field with just Gerrard and Coutinho.

And on the transfer front it continues the trend, apparently we bidded for De Rossi with Roma saying they have no intention of selling.

patient is over!! Herrera will have to pass medical and United pay it all in cash but deal practically done

Ozil would be an amazing signing but Herrera is priority number 1 for me, we need a creative central midfielder, one to play with Carrick and even instead off.

I still think a 2nd player in midfield or even a creative one is required but rather not Fellaini however I'd be more comfortable with him if we get Herrera.

What`s with Kagawa , because he could link up w/ Herrera.

Don't think any of us are sure at this point, Moyes gave him an extra week off last Friday for whatever reason. So presumably fitness is an issue, but then you'd expect him to be fitter than the likes of Young who has been out for a long period injured. There were rumours that Kagawa has a niggling injury that won't go away, so perhaps they're trying to let that heal.

Just praying he will be in Moyes plans, can't see why not, considering Moyes has favoured the likes of Pienaar in the past.

Struggling to believe we've agreed a fee with Bilbao for Herrera, purely because each report ends with "according to Guillem Balague"

I'll still put it down to match fitness really, apparently it was a choice of Nani or Kagawa for the bench yesterday so hopefully both will progress, hopefully Nani starting the next game and Kagawa getting on the bench.

rationalizing it we really don't need Ozil, we have Rooney and Kagawa for that role and an exciting young player in Januzaj coming through.

Gareth who?

Supposedly Herrera will actually take a pay-cut to join us, I like this guy already!

Edit: or lower his earlier wage demand, reports aren't really clear
