Manchester United Thread

No Rooney is a blow, however if we can give Robin some service he'll win us this.

hopefully Shinji or Nani play and can open them up.

United: De Gea; Jones, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra; Young, Cleverley, Carrick, Giggs; Welbeck, van Persie.
Subs: Lindegaard, Büttner, Smalling, Anderson, Nani, Valencia, Hernandez.

FFS, Shinji is left out again? And Giggs starting... Jesus...

Starting to look a lot like Shinji might not be a Utd player anymore come Tuesday :/

That's a bit too pessimistic, but I reckon if he doesn't play enough come Christmas, he'll not be happy at all and might wanna leave in January. Maybe that's what has to happen for Moyes to give him a proper run...

About the game now, we are just terrible in midfield, Giggs makes a lot, and I mean A LOT, of mistakes, Young is looking pretty bad too. I guess Anderson and Nani will have a much bigger impact on the game. Let's see if Moyes thinks so.

Oh, and it wouldn't be United if one of ours doesn't get injured...

Wouldn't blame kagawa if he wanted out. Exactly the type of player we've been looking for all summer and he ain't k kicked a ball this season. Thanks giggs but time to hang up the boots

Yeah he was shit but it still shouldn't hide the fact we didn't really deserve anything anyway.

closest we came to scoring was Nani's shot from about 30 yards out.

Just not enough quality in that team today, Rio and Carrick had mediocre games and the creative players ahead weren't good enough.

Andre Marriner should be demoted. Terrible performance bowing to the crowd and Liverpool players at every opportunity.

I will agree his decision making got affected by the crowd and he got a bit card happy a fair bit. In the end i can't really say that's the reason we lost, we weren't good enough simply and cleverly just gave away the ball away at terrible times. Although we looked better when hernandez came on, hopefully moyes doesn't sell him, would be mad.

I just have one question I would like to ask Moyes if I met him now.

Where the hell are Kagawa, Zaha and Januzaj???

Fuck's sake...

Yeah, it's not the reason we lost but it was one of the most one-sided refereeing performances you'll ever see.

Virtually every 50/50 he gave Liverpool's way and allowed Lucas to go on his fouling crusade without booking him until the 90th minute.

the quality behind RVP isn't good enough. Valencia, Young, Giggs and Cleverley just aren't at that level, Welbeck is talented but he's not much of a threat and would be fine if he's supplemented by bigger goal threats.

We need to bring in at least one midfielder tomorrow, Why wasn't Kagawa in the squad?

Because fuck having a proper midfielder, that's why...

I'll say it again, unless we start giving Kagawa and Zaha (and Januzaj too, he should come on as a sub at least) a chance, we're gonna suck in the final third against every team capable of pressuring us there.

Giggs and Young offered very very little, no energy, no defensive cover and Young was very predictable on the ball (Must be such an easy player to defend against, hint: he's going to cut inside onto his right foot).

Wasn't impressed with either Carrick or Cleverely either, didn't cope well with the pressure put on them. That being said, they could have done with more options ahead of them, we had absolutely nothing in behind van Persie and Welbeck. Rooney or Kagawa were definitely missed there.

Bad selection and performance in my opinion, though we'd probably have got a point if not for our defence falling asleep for that goal, because Liverpool weren't pretty woeful going forward too.

Isn't the first time we've played that badly at Anfield though and I doubt it'll be the last time.

Fuck me, poor football. We try and play too slow, which works against teams which aren't pressing but put anyone under pressure and we fucking lose it. Every game is exactly like the Athletic Bilbao game a few seasons back.

We need some steel in the midfield, as well as some more invention.

It's ridiculous to see just how much we miss Rooney already.

AND WHY THE FUCKING SHIT WAS KAGAWA LEFT OUT COMPLETELY AND NANI SAT ON THE BENCH WHILE YOUNG AND GIGGS STARTED.

Worse thing was that Liverpool weren't much better either and were there for the taking if certain players had been picked and certain players had played better.

Why Giggs started on the right wing we'll never know. You'd expect something different from Moyes but it looks like he's copying Fergie right down to a tee, including puzzling team selections against Liverpool at Anfield.

It is ridiculous, Giggs as a coach obviously has a lot of experience to offer the team and that was a very good move to bring him into the staff.

But he's more of a hindrance than a help on the pitch especially when starting. No doubt he can offer something when brought on for the last 15-20, he just is not capable of starting any more.

Moyes seems fairly intent on purging any flair out of the side, and creating a bigger branded Everton. His style is very much like marmite. I for one hate it.

We are way too direct and predictable in our play. The team that Moyes puts out just can't do it to be a Top 4 team. If we continue like this with these selections, We'd be lucky to play Europa League next year (seeing how all other sides had actual improvements to their squad and knows how to use it)

To counter the doom and gloom: a start like this against Swansea away, Chelsea and a game at An field can hardly be called bad or unexpected. We ve been woeful but our opponents were not truly better (if at all)

We need to bid for Ozil ASAP... He's for sale and looks like Arsenal are trying to land him.

Come on, they will accept a 20-25m offer, we need to act!

I knew this Moyes and Martinez plan would work well for us.

Both teams were pretty dire second half. You were there for the taking but we couldn't counter attack.

Not sure how Lucas managed to survive till 90 before he got booked.

Are you going to sign anyone tomorrow? I can't see you doing anything with that team...
