Manchester United Thread

Can't believe Rooney wouldn't even show up to Rio's testimonial. That's pretty disgraceful.

Not that I expect much from Rooney, but come on. Teammate for 9 years, England teammate for his whole career.

Sevilla? they were playing last night . I think this is the worse testimonial, why don`t they play older mutd stars players?

Been alot of Knee Jerk from Redcafe and Pesfan, I missed th first half but heard our midfield was bypassed with ease. Perhaps Moyes may need to start loooking hard for a new centre midfield or two. Januzaj and zaha were very good.

Bit worried for our midfield. I hope Ed Woodward is sorting some deals out for players.

Carrick + Some Muscle (I grit my teeth on who that will be) would work fine, but I want to trust we can allow Anderson his fair dues.

good to hear Januzaj had one other good performance , hope to see him on some EPL games !

Didn't watch the game but it looks like we fielded kind of an odd unbalanced team. Every time I see buttner on the team sheet I cry a little inside.. I'm sorry.. Great dude it seems but no way solid enough for Utd at the moment. How did he do today?

Also.. I know Rooney wasn't there but what about the other players that weren't part of the game like rvp, Carrick, Nani etc? Were they in the stands?

Januzaj should be used as much as possible, that's how classy players develop, not by warming the bench and coming in for 10 mins every now and then...

Hope he gets started regularly, he deservers it and he brings something special to the team (I know it's too early, but there are signs - he was man of the match for starters). :)

Moyes is the best decision Utd ever made :D

Don't you have some pile of money you can go roll in. No need to rub it in ;)

I watched the match. Wasn't a testimonial, it was a preseason friendly with half our squad missing.

Not a lot of positives, but quick thoughts:

- Adnan is very good
- Anderson is great going forward, and can actually play passes to free wingers
- Valencia played football again
- Zaha looks good too

Lots of bads
- Cleverley and Anderson together in midfield should never ever happen again
- Buttner in defense should never ever happen again
- Giggs is a legend, but that shouldn't excuse him from being a one-man possession destroying machine
- Who was wearing Kagawa's jersey tonight? Was it some Rio 5 magazine contest winner? Worst performance I've ever seen from a United player. Literally. Worse than Bebe at Watford. Absolutely, mind-blowing terrible. A Rooney replacement? I want some of whatever you're smoking.
- Chris Smalling doesn't understand the offside rule. Two of their goals were a simple result of him being about 5 yards behind the defensive line.
- And worst of all, Wayne Rooney couldn't even drive to watch from the crowd. F*cker. Sell him to Anzhi. For £1.

We're in a lot of trouble. I could see us getting 3 points from our first 5 matches. Seriously.

The management have let down David Moyes to an unacceptable degree. Hardest job in world football and you don't bring in any players that can be ready for the hardest start to a season I can remember. It's an utter shambles, but what do you expect from a man that has never run a football club taking over as CEO of the largest in the world?

I look forward to some signings - but probably won't happen til our share price is scaring the Glazers.

Always said Smalling is god awful as a defender. Being tall and English seems to be only requirement to sign for United at times.. course some times it pays off, the biggest example ol' Rio!

Maybe this is all a rope-a-dope. Shocking preseason, announce no signings, get outplayed in most friendlies.

Then we rock up on Sunday with 2 new signings and Rooney playing with RVP uptop, in great shape and a new love United tattoo.

which will most likely get rejected and followed up by another 4 bids then we'll sign no one. it's the new united way it seems.

don't worry, we still have some time to happily move on to the next transfer target/rumor.

Up next; Luka Modric & Geoffrey Kondogbia! :BOP:

p.s. I just sold Vidic to PSG for 43 million in PES2013..I feel a bit guilty now.

Wouldn't read anything into it, Valencia is just a very modest character and I suspect he would have felt he didn't earn the shirt number last season.

Good to have that victory under out belt, clean sheet was important.

Best news of the summer, The number 7 shirt is free, I wonder why :... ;))

The reason will probably be silly but I'm excited as hell after seeing Valencia give up the no. 7
Ronnie, Bale or Rooney? :CONFUSE:

And Pipa..no I don't see him being sold..you d figure they wouldn't have gone through the trouble of assigning him a new number if that were the case.

can´t see Bale move to United personally.. while CR apparently signed a new Real deal.. will be interesting to see who get´s it.

where is the info about Valencia giving up on 7? what´s his current number then?

i would like to see Januzaj with 7...

He's number 25 now, another thing about Valencia is he requested the number 7 after his best season and I don't think it's a coincidence he relinquished it after his worst season.
