Manchester United Thread

Winning and not playing well. Utd always click into gear after Xmas.

Chelsea haven't played any of there tough game yet either.

City will be to strong this season though.

Very lucky to get three points especially after that lacklustre first half. Our problems dealing with pressing, particularly in central midfield, are still very evident this season.

scholes brings calm. such an elegant footballer best english midfielder ever IMO.

but you are right..energy obviously lacking. Ferguson stated a long time ago that he would never sign a 'destroyer' type midfielder though.

If he did then he lied, Hargreaves. that role is probably Fletcher's along with possibly Jones being an option if he can get the hang of the position.

Topsy turvy game at Anfield.
One point I thought we could win it but then again we kinda lost control off the start.Couldnt remember Reina making an actual save.

I have to get this off my chest.
Ryan Giggs is not a CM and will never be a CM.
He is totally useless there and I was glad Sir Alex saw that and decided to bring Scholes in.

Naive defending at times by Rafael and Jones, great goal by the little brasilian though.Jones should not have waited for that ball to drop to Gerrard, of all people, for the volley. Vidic would have put his head on the line to head it away first.

Like mentioned before above my post.
We were rubbish and was lucky to come off with 3 points at Anfield. To cap it off...Nice to hear them complaining about the ref this time around. Welcome to Manchester Mark Halsey! :SMUG:

It's a bit harsh to criticise Phil Jones for not getting closer to Gerrard - pretty sure if he'd hobbled onto the pitch we'd of gotten in trouble, him not being in the matchday squad and what not ;)

So far this season we've played well in half a match against Wigan. And yet...the wins follow.

I clearly don't understand football. Playing Giggs in a midfield 2 against Liverpool at Anfield ranks right up there with playing an unfit Ji Sung Park against City in the most important match of last season. Fergie makes no sense anymore.

Well, that's only Rio, Evans, Jones, Smalling and Vidic that have missed time already this season with injury.

And that only means we have to take our one fit, class, not 38 year old midfielder and stick him in defence.

Yeah, good job medical staff. Awesome stuff.

Don't think we can win the league if these injuries continue. Might be time to focus on cups. Not being facetious either, if literally all of CBs are unable to play 2 matches a week, something has to give.

do you ever stop moaning?? :P

We have injuries to our key players so early in the season.

I can understand the moaning. Like I said, we need back ups, but all people say we have decent bench, well, NO, we don't.

;)

And Ferguson is reliant to youngsters in first team :(.

Pisses me off. Medical staff is to fire asap to save our season from turning into ruin.

Apologies, this is an excellent opportunity to play some out of position players in central defence, thus increasing their overall footballing education.

Do you have something positive to spin here? Or is having your entire set of CBs injured not noteworthy?

Wootton and Vesseli will make an excellent pair of young players to gain experience ;)

Have you ever seen Vesseli? He's woeful. I'm convinced we just got him to get some positive spin in that window (nab a City 'starlet').

Scott Wooton, Tom Thopre and Michael Keane are okay. I'd bring them through rather than pull poor Carrick back in there. But none are big enough yet, and none are ready for the prem.

I'm just baffled as to what is going on with Smalling and Jones. At their ages they simply shouldn't be so injury prone.

What we'll like see is Buttner on the left and Evra moved into the middle. Which might actually work against Tottenham if they play Defoe alone up front, but any team with some physical power will destroy us.

Went for the first two names that popped into my head!
I'd hope to see the youngsters play, any of them would do :)

Wow, how's this for a contrast of experience in attack and defence:

----------------De Gea----------------
-Vermijl----Wooton----Keane---Buttner-
--------Fletcher---Cleverley----------
---------------Anderson----------------
---Welbeck-----------------Rooney------
----------------Chicarito--------------

Oh Fergie. More with the FIFA formations.

The trio in defense. I have high hopes for them.

Wotton, Keane and Vermijl can be big for the club.

Plus love what I am seeing so far. Pressure all over the place from our boys :o.
