Manchester United Thread

I was just wondering, If Ruud and Saha are our main strike team, how often is Smith gonna get a chance to play?
The more I think about it, the more I think he was a waste of money. We could have got another defender for the amount we spent on him. We're already have another crisis on our hands cuz O'Shea is injured and Heinze is going to the Olympics and Rio is still injured. And we don't have Ronaldo.

I think Saviola is better than Rooney.
But to be fair, Rooney plays at a shitty team compared to Barca (no offense Merseyside Blues) which is why I think that his true potential won't be realized there. I also think the media in England has hyped him up so much. Does anyone really believe he's worth anything around 40mil? That's Ruud or Henry money!

In the treble year we had 4 strikers and it worked very well. Smith will get plenty of games what with injuries and the amount of competitions we're in. We were all moaning about not having enough strikers last season. If Ruud get's injured at least our only other out and out striker won't be Forlan like it was at the beginning of last season. Competition is healthy, I can't wait.

i dont think thats the case, i think Silvestre and Rio will be Fergie's first choice pairing. . . . the rest competing for the leftback/centre back spot (if MS plays at LB). . . . .

Well, he probably means it in the amount of influence Cantona had at United and the iconic status he holds. Ronaldo could easily emulate that.

They said, never say 'never' in football. hahahaha...from the pics posted...looks like Alan is always around Roy...hope they would be great buddies, maybe Keano could help Smithy to generate his tenaciousness to a more positive way.

i'm glad that we will NOT face the seeded team(for CL) in the qualifying match.. which means we will avoid facing RM... we will face the non-seeded team instead.. but i hope we will not lose against the non-seeded teams

Rooney rocked by crisis
Wayne Rooney will quit Everton this summer after the club was plunged into chaos last night. Chief executive Trevor Birch walked out just six weeks into his new job after the Goodison board ignored his plans to drag the Blues out of their crippling cash crisis. England wonderkid Rooney, 18, has not responded to the offer of a new £12.5million five-year contract - a deal he will now refuse. Manchester United are favourites to land the striker, but Chelsea and Real Madrid will turn the race for his signature into the biggest transfer in English football history.
Phil Thomas, The Sun

After the calm of the storm, this story emerges. Finally I have this feeling,Rooney will come to us,but this time on the low key,Vieira's transfer tale to Madrid is taking over. The transfer,I believe, will be completed once both club agree on a fee.

Although I think he is very overrated, Rooney would be a great addition tothe team. No doubting he is a very good talent. United need striking options and they have loads now. They will have Van Nistelrooy, Smith, Scholes, Solskjaer, Saha, Ronaldo (possibly as a striker when needed) and Rooney. I aint adding Forlan to that because I feel his time is up.

I bought my new top this week, it has Ronaldo 7 on the back. It feels very nice. Mine is long sleeved as well.
