Manchester United Thread

man utd are a selling club and are not rivals with chelsea anymore, javier just wants to win trophies instead of playin the rest of his career at man united and not winning anything.

:)) Lulz.

I wouldn't start Scholes away to Everton, keep him mostly for home fixtures and CL ties. Cleverley looks to be on a roll so I'd stick with him and Carrick, both looked great midweek also.

Agree with your front 4, only possible change I could see would be Rooney on the left with Nani on the right with RVP starting.

Just hope there isn't a silly line-up attempting to shoe-horn them all in, like we did against Liverpool after signing Berba and shoving Rooney out wide on the right.

That didn't end well.

Was a bit different because we lacked wide options at the time with Ronaldo injured, No Valencia and Nani was 'Young and Learning'

Everton is a tough one to start with so we should go 4-3-3 and we've seen Rooney on the left loathes of times but I'd start him uptop.

BERBA NEEDS TO GO! Sad as it is, I love the Bulgarian.
But united are taking part in the new U21's league taking the place of the Reserves league, so there isn't even a reserves game for him to take part in, and unless he is picked as one of the Over Age Players we are allowed or plays in goal he's screwed sad really :(

But on a note, for this Under 21's league I believe the rules are age limit of 21 and one over age keeper if the club wishes, who would make your starting XI for the new league. (remember you can't really expect Rooney to be dropped to be a over age player so be sensible!)

Our U21 team could be awesome, in theory. I probably can't quite name the whole thing, but we have a superb group of U18s:

----------------Johnstone---------------
--Keane----Thorpe---Wooton----Blackett-
------------Petrucci-Tunnicliffe--------
---------------Daehli------------------
---Cole--------------------Van Velzen--
-----------------Keane------------------

Darren Fletcher started for the U21s against Stoke today, good to see!

Edit:

Completed 90 minutes and even burst into the bog in the 79-80th minute and hit a decent cross from the byline. Not getting carried away, but there are positive signs for the future.

Should be confirmed this week, Angelo Henriquez signs 4 year contract with Man Utd. He will play for U21 team for the season.

If so, WELCOME!! That guy was impressive for Universidad de Chile.

He won't now. He wants to play for United in U21 league and prove himself ;).

True professional approach that! (speaking with my friend who is from Chile and supports UdCh, so he knows quite a lot about players and stuff around them).

Would be nice if true. He has some competition here (King, Keane, etc.)

So we're STARTING the season with Evans, Rio, Jones and Smalling all injured. Ridiculous.

Carrick in defense on Monday. Sob. 4 out of 5 centre backs injured, before a ball has been kicked in earnest.

What is wrong with these players?

Ay looks like its another Injury crises, Carrick dropping back screws the whole line up. :((

EDIT Berba's off also :((

Don't need him. We are definitely not short on strikers God damn it.

We need defenders and midfielders the most here!

Maybe it's not players fault they get injured, but physios and physical coaches (too harsh regimes?).

It's ridiculous how many players we got injured last season and this, hasn't started in full yet and we already have defensive shortage O_O.

Carrick on defense is NO GO. He was always weak on defense, but that's understandable as he is no defender...

Watch Everton getting points against that injured tiger on Monday...

na dembele is a midfielder aint he? but i think he should stay at fulham, they are top of the league.

Dembele was a striker prior to last season when Jol converted him to being a creative midfielder.

Nani hasn't signed a new contract YET. But has been told that contract talks will be held with him, l think he's being forced to sweat on it following his ridiculous claims for massive pay rise and also saying he would like a move elsewhere in the future.

We need to keep Nani and make him one of the top earners in the squad.
In today's market...there is no way we can buy Nani.
Ronaldo's apprentice has finally become his own man.

Today's dutch media bursted with information that we have bought left-back, but no, neighter Leighton Baines, nor Neil Taylor, but... Alexander Büttner from Vitesse Arnhem. The deal is worth 5 mil €. The other transfer speculation is that Kaká will appear in Manchester to have medicals, because of his loan from Real. It's getting quite interesting.

Kaka rumour was started by a fake agent on twitter as far as I'm aware, not the first time that has happened.

I don't want to shoe-horn players into positions they're not used to anymore than we have to, there is only so much we can get away with. Carrick will be in defence tonight, Valencia will potentially spend some time at right back in the season, Rooney/Kagawa on the left, Evans at left back and Welbeck on the wing as well.

As much as I like the guy and how professional he has been for the club (He really has been a credit to himself, top scorer one season and hardly plays the next, but is he constantly making noise from within? Not a word), he needs to find himself a new club and play football week in, week out.

Getting worried about Nani's contract situation now I must admit, for me he is our most talented player and he'd be impossible to replace. Whenever we perform, you'll often find Nani is a big part of that. Valencia is very different in the sense he'll just keep running at you, but Nani is capable of doing something completely innovative that'll open up a defence and you simply can't put a price on that.
