Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I think Frimpong vs Piers is odd, Frimpong calling piers over weight n stick to treadmill. Piers saying Frimpong should be sold to Spurs. Its crazy how he has a go at Arsenal/Wenger /players all because he is a season ticket holder

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Oh FFS. F*cking FIFA. Sure, let's have a useless, pointless international friendly in the middle of the most important time in domestic (read: important) football, and of course I tune into the England game just in time to see Chris Smalling stretchered off, not moving.

The sooner FIFA realises no one cares about international football outside of tournaments and changes things the better.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

It looked pretty bad to be honest, I hope it's nothing to serious for the lad.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Did Huntelaar continue to play? Just saw a video of the collision/goal and he looked like he was knocked out. Arms in the air glazed over and motionless.
I saw Smalling on the ground as well but the video just cuts out, didn't see what happened to either afterwards.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Nah he went off.

Shame actually, scored, his link up play was good. Looked like the Ajax Huntelaar, one of my favourite players.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

The Hunter absolutely thumped that header into the net while our Chris smashed his head into Huntelaar's...Seems a bad head injury, saw some blood on Chris's shirt too.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

that looked pretty bad indeed. i really hope it's nothing serious for both of em. even the italian commentator was scared by what he saw.
and yeah ryan, this international schedule is absolutely ridiculous, but it doesn't look like fifa has any intention to change it.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Big match tomorrow morning. Would take a draw from the Lane, despite our history at White Hart Lane being generally good. I just don't think we're looking that convincing lately, and Spurs will create a lot of chances.

I'm thinking a 2-2 or 2-1 to Spurs.

Very curious if Fergie will play Scholes against such a high quality of opposition.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I was at the Lane the last time we beat United, my second game ever there, back in 2001. So it's over 11 years since we beat United in all competitions, which is really far too long. Were really close in 2004, when Mendes should've had his goal allowed, and in 2007/2008 when Tevez equalised in injury time. So it's about time today! :)

*Im sure the lineups are out but I haven't checked them* Scholes has to start, honestly he's surprised me how fucking good he still is, I don't see a draw both sides will go for it are feeling a win is needed and a draw doesn't help either of us.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Well deserved win. :P

Wow, we were dreadful, properly properly dreadful. My reaction to the 2nd and 3rd goals were to laugh, typical United.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

How the hell did that happen? We were crap for 60 minutes of that match.

Two quality finishes from Young though. Given Nani's recent dip could be key to our season if Young and Valencia are on form.

Starting lineup with 7 England players...and we were pants. Interesting ;)

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I dont agree that we were that bad yesterday, we soaked up alot of pressure and hit them when we got the chance...

away from home, that doesnt sound like a bad strategy.

So as Rio puts it we have "11 cup finals" left to play and win if we wanna get our 20th title.

I didnt think we would be in this position coming into the run in...

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I think if we do win all 11 we'd break the point total in league history. So I don't see that as realistic ;)

As has been said countless times now, Fergie is an utter genius to have us where we are with this squad. And he's also not a genius for giving us this squad. Unlucky with the injuries to Vida and Cleverley in particular, but our faults are there for anyone to see, and were there before the summer.

yeah its unrealistic especially with one of those wins having to be at citys ground...

but with mosy of our games being against teams not playing for much we could rack up a few wins buy the time we do go to the eithad...

the brightest glimmer of hope for us is citys games vs chelsea(home) and arsenal (away).......

Your right tho, with the squad we had at the start if the season it was gonna be v.hard to have a successful one...

it didnt take long for imjuries to take hold of the squad and an unusual run of home results ended our CL & cup runs early...

Its a strange position to be in...

if we somehow pull it off, it will be amazing after the season we've had..

but if we dont our overall performance in all comps will make it one of the worst seasons we've had in a few years...

If this was a shooter game I would call that "CAMPING" ;)

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Looks like Pogba has signed for Juventus...

The rumour is that we'll get around £300k in compensation, while his agent gets £1.6m!

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I don't think we can moan too much, after all we poached him off Le Havre. If he doesn't want to fight for his place here, then so be it.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Is he that special? Any of you seen him play? Would be nice to get some insight of him and what that fuss is all about.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Beachryan would have a better view as I'm sure he's seen him in action more than I have...

From what I've seen of him in the Reserves, he's definitely a top prospect, and would have been breaking into the First Team next season.
You could argue that had Scholes' not come out of retirement he'd already be there.
