Giggs can move more into the middle and Scholes to the right then...i am sure that these 3 players will be doing alot of switching and moving around this season...plus, Giggs don't have to cross from the right...he can just pass it in or shoot it!!!

It would be great if United can play with Hollands formation,2 flying wingers with Ruud as a lone striker and one more player just behind him and if the reports are true,Rooney would fit that position.

hm...the 4-3-3?? how it look though...

But Scholes can't tackle to save his life  .

Also, we have two perfectly able strikers (Saha, Smith), so I would prefer 442.

Phrase's one is very interesting. It covers most of the pitch and has players in perfect positions to support each other.
I'm actually gonna try that out in WE7i now.

Believe me,I scored a lots of goals on the break with this formation of mine, along with the dream transfer of Rooney too, before that Butt(DM) was playing in Scholes's position and Scholes in Rooney's position.

all this talk of Ashley Cole having Ronaldo in his pocket is a bit much!! Cole's games built around breaking forward supporting the man in front of him, how many times did we see Cole in the Portuugese half??? Cole had a good game, but then again so did Ronaldo, i've seen Roberto Carlos keep Beckham in Utd's half, cole didnt do that.

WHile Cole did not break out offensively too much in that game, neither did the midfield or the attackers who are ahead of him. But throughout the tourney he showed himself as a slick LB who can come from the back and slice thru defenses in support or even creative capacities.

as far as Ronaldo goes, I think that Cole bitchslapped him, pimped him, robbed him, and then turned him out. LOL. I am not a huge ManU fan, but it was clear that Cole stifled Ronaldo, and even the Portugese press acknowledged it and praised him for it.
you nailed it on the head

I dont think we'll get Rooney and even if we do we're gona have some unhappy strikers. Ruud will defo play but what about Saha, Smith, Forlan, Solskjaer.
If your talking about playing in Scholes position then id much rather stick with Scholes.

this man deserves to never pull on a united shirt again he is a disgrace to the club and everything a forward should be

anyway heres my formation

--------------------Howard--------------------
-----------Ferdinand-------Brown-----------
-G.Neville-------------------------Heinze-----
---------Keane--------------Scholes----------
----Ronaldo----------------------Giggs-------
----------V.Nistelrooy-----Smith-------------

Subs : Carrol, Saha, Butt, P.Neville, Miller

O'Shea is my least favourite united player when i was watchign United games if there was someone gonna give the ball away it was O'shea
and another thing scholesy really needs to learn how to tackle he's a walking red-card!

Heres a quick round up of the latest Man Utd news straight from their website.

Robson to pinch £4m Butt
Newcastle are ready to pinch Nicky Butt from under the noses of Middlesbrough. The England midfielder has decided that his first team days at Old Trafford are over. Last season he handed in a transfer request, which was accepted. However, despite heavy interest from Birmingham, Butt changed his mind and decided to have another go at reviving his United career. Yet the final straw came when he was left out of the FA Cup final team that beat Millwall. Butt, 29, will listen to offers over the next fortnight - with Bobby Robson’s Toon favourites to tie up a deal for around £4million.

Fergie's on Ruud to Roon
Wayne Rooney will form a fearsome partnership with Ruud van Nistelrooy at Old Trafford next season. That is the ambitious plan of manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who has spent the past six months plotting how to put Manchester United back on top of the Premiership title.

Lets Crist again
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has overtaken Luis Figo as the darling of the Portugal fans. The 19-year-old winger's picture looks down from the windows of apartment blocks and peers out from cars as they race round the capital with horns blazing. And yesterday the Old Trafford wizard spoke of the most exciting night of his life when Portugal beat England. "I've never experienced anything like the night we beat England," he said. "It was as if the whole country came together. Winning the FA Cup with United and scoring in the final was special but what is happening here has been quite amazing."
Brian Woolnough, Daily Star

And finally...
Gay to go, Cristiano
Whizkid winger Cristiano Ronaldo, 19, has been voted Portugal's sexiest pin-up - by his country's gay association.

I'm pretty confident that we will. I get a feeling that Rooney will either join us or just stay at Everton.
Cuz Rooney prefers to join Man Utd than any other team. So if he is gonna join anyone, its gonna be us or nobody.

Heres a another story.

Stag night is too Ruud!
Soccer hero Ruud Van Nistelrooy has snubbed a wild stag do in Amsterdam’s famous red light district - for a quiet meal with his parents. The Dutch hitman’s Manchester United pals wanted to take him on a fun-filled night in the city. But he has turned them down and has opted instead to go for a meal with his mum, dad and future in-laws. Ruud, 27, ties the knot with 24-year-old sweetheart Leontien Flaatf a week on Saturday in the tiny Dutch village of Geffen.

not suprised that Ruud didnt go though, a footballer down the red light district of Amsterdam! the press would hammer him

I posted about this a few weeks ago, and lo and behold its a done deal.

Manchester United are to complete the signing of Gerard Pique from Barcelona.

The talented young defender has agreed a five-year contract with Sir Alex Ferguson's side after meeting with the United manager this week.

Although it was a difficult decision to leave Camp Nou, the gigantic centre back is excited by the prospect of continuing his development at Old Trafford.

"There have been seven years of my life where I have learned and enjoyed my football with Barca and I would not change that for anything in the world," he told El Mundo Deportivo.

"But a new phase of my life begins now.

"It took a lot to make the decision to leave Barca. I was very happy here and had never thought about changing club but, after looking at the options, speaking with my parents and my grandfather, who has also helped me a lot, it was a suitable time for me."

I tell you what you've gotta give it to Fergie, the amount of young players we've got coming thru is scary, no other club invests in its future like we do. All we need now is Rooney to round it off and we've got a very promising squad.

Looks like I'm not the only one looking forward to the new season.

Saha:

"It was a bit disappointing for me because I wanted to play more. I kept thinking I would play and then it never happened. I can't wait to kick a ball again at Old Trafford and Euro 2004 has only made me more hungry."

You'll do for me kidda!!

What eles, oh yeah Ruud once and for all pours scorn on paper talk of him leaving OT, we all knew he wouldnt wanna go Madrid (Barca maybe but not Madrid) and as he said a while ago he's doing life at United.

Oh yeah and young Liam Miller offically became a United player today!!

Pique dwarfs Fergie!

When they say gigantic,i think they meant it,this guy is huge for his age and its always an incentive if you are this size being a defender. He's presented with the old kit, cause the new kit will not be unvieled to the public yet till mid july.I wonder why United didnt want to reveal all their new signings(Smith,Heinze,Miller & Pique) all at once today in a press conference?

I'm surprised that Chelsea haven't made many deals during the summer.
We've made quite a few and they look promising.
And we've got guys like Saha who'll get a chance to play more along with Kleberson and Rio.
I don't think we'll have another injury worry again.

chelsea have to sell a couple of players first, not from a finaincial aspect but to attract players to join a smaller squad, then they will without a doubt buy a couple of players. Bear n mind that they have already signed Cech, Robben and Paulo Ferraira (sp?)

and dont speak to soon bout the injuries, we have good cover but you never know in this old game ;)

Its different for them because they look for a quick fix where as we build for the future and have a history of developing young talent, with our training ground stadium etc we will always attract good youngsters.

lol have you seen chelseas facilities, if I was a player and went there I'd think they was having a laugh.

Aparrently Sheasy's op went okay and he's on the road to being ready for the start of the season.
