Norwegian star to join??
From MEN
'MANCHESTER United are stepping up their interest in Norwegian left winger Morten Gamst Pedersen and are expected to have a spy at Tromso's cup match with Lillestrom tonight.
Blackburn Rovers have already had a bid for the highly-rated 22-year-old rejected by Tromso and turned their attentions instead to last week's capture of Javier De Pedro from Real Sociedad.
United's own efforts last January to secure cover and competition for Ryan Giggs in that role were wrecked when PSV Eindhoven's Arjen Robben chose Chelsea instead.
But Pedersen could be a cheaper option for manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Rovers offered £1.5m plus £500,000 after a certain amount of games but the Norwegian club threw out the deal.
Last week Pedersen reflected: "My situation is unchanged from a week ago. Blackburn made an offer and Tromso said no.
"I've got no problems with that. I'm not angry on the decision, rather the opposite. It's really fun to play here and I feel that I'm still developing. The most important thing for me is to become a good footballer.
"I've got a dream of playing abroad, but I'm in no rush to realise that dream."
However, if the Reds came calling with a straight cash bid of £2.5 to £3m then Tromso are expected to agree to the sale and Pedersen would move.
The international colleague of United's own Ole Solskjaer has been outstanding for Tromso in the opening 10 matches of the Norwegian season and has been instrumental in their surprise top-of-the-table position.
Pedersen is a left winger with two good feet, is good in the air and can score goals. '
We defo need another outlet on the left, missing out on Robben was a bid deal IMO we cant let another one get away!!
