Fergie has got Heinze catch-up
Sir Alex Ferguson last night took his spending to more than £56million in less than a year as his squad rebuilding gathered momentum with the arrival of central defender Gabriel Heinze. Argentina hard-man Heinze will become Ferguson's ninth signing since last July when he completes an £8million move to Manchester United from Paris St Germain today. The 26-year-old will sign a four-year contract worth about £2m a year after passing a medical yesterday. United, who have beaten off interest from Valencia, will pay PSG £6m as a down-payment with a further £2m depending on appearances and their progress in the Champions League.

A seriously tempermental player a la Anelka. I hope Fergie has the patience on this guy. I remember seeing him at Real Valladolid and Sporting Lisbon thinking he was class, but his temperment was off the angry scale!!

I wonder who Man Utd plan to sign next. They have enough defenders and forwards. They need a few midfielders now.

midfielder i agree but what type ?

a few suggestions : Vd Vaart, Deco, Totti (imaginery), Gerrard (arkward to get though isnt he ZZZZvapour ;) ), maybe a cover player for keane someone with that desire keane has

Totti would be a waste of money. I mean, you'd have to pay like over £30million for him and he'll only last you a few more years. Gerrard would be the best player to get but they've got a good manager now and I doubt he'd want to leave.
I still can't get over the loss of Ronaldinho. He would be all we need right now.

And I read at manutd.com that Werder Bremen want Kleberson on loan. Do you think this is a good move for him? If it could get him first team football then it would be great for him.

With the signing of G.Heinze,I think we have the best and flexible defence ever! Think of all the possible combination of players in the defence, its superb I tell yall,we got covers all over.We are well equipped in the striking department I feel, all that is left is that magical, catalyst player.

Heinze can also play on the left according to Sir Alex so the defence wont be a problem. And you're right. There are loads of combinations we can have in the back 4. And strikers, we have too many. We better offload someone or else they'll just get upset sitting on the bench all day. We already have the best goalkeeper of last season so no need to that area.

So all that leaves is the midfield to fix up. Ronaldo is gonna be our right wing for another 5 years. I see Fletcher as a great defensive mid so might even be able to replace Keane in the future.
But we still need another Scholes and Giggs.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm thinking someone like Robben to replace Giggs and Ronaldinho for Scholes. Obviously we can't have them but we need someone similar.

great!!!! i watched Heinze played for PSG and I think he's a hard working defender!!

all we need now is a new playmaker

vdv is a good choice but.. he prefers to play for barca! dammit.. is Jaquin(maybe wrong spelled) a good midfielder?

Gerrard has just said that he's not impressed with the new manager and would like to leave Liverpool.
Good news for Man Utd cuz they need someone like him.

Heinze will wear the no.57 shirt after signing he was said to be full of beans.

Yeah I see what you say, but I meant on an individual match basis. I have only seen a team come from 1-0 down in injury time to win before and it was you lot against Bayern, until last night.

Ronaldo in cheat storm
Cristiano Ronaldo sparked the first row of Euro 2004 by claiming Greece cheated for the penalty which gave them a shock win over hosts Portugal in the tournament's curtain-raiser here in Oporto. The Manchester United star conceded the spot-kick which ultimately saw Portugal defeated, despite scoring with a late consolation header which may yet prove decisive in the outcome of Group A. But 19-year-old Ronaldo was furious with Greece defender Georgios Seitaridis, insisting he dived to con referee Pierluigi Collina into awarding the controversial penalty. "I swear I didn't touch him for the penalty," said Ronaldo. "The player ran past me, I tried to get out of the way and he decided to dive."
David McDonnell, Daily Mirror

Ronaldo gets a taste of his own medicine? I hope he will learn a few things from this incident.

I spoke of Vicente a gazilion times dude.He is the only player left that we should sign after Euro 04.

Joaquin's agent has also said that he is confident Joaquin will not be at Betis next season. Chelsea and Real Madrid have been heavily linked with him...maybe United can pounce. It is rumoured that bidding for the player would start at around 17 million. Sorry, no sources.
