I don't want to sell Macheda, but I just don't see how he can get the opportunity to improve with us.

He's a strange beast - doesn't seem to have any particular attribute that stands out, but does have that certain something about him. Worth noting that his goal scoring rate for United is quite good, especially given his age. But he was terrible in Italy.

But, he's not as good as Rooney, Berbatov or Hernandez, so even ignoring Owen and Welbeck I just don't see how often he'll play :(

Fair amount of chat today that we're (oddly) going back in for Jack Rodwell, and that Macheda might be somehow included in the deal. Dunno if loan.

Macheda won't be sold just yet but I do worry, he'll need to be patient as both Berbatov and Owen are 30+ instead of pushing for a move. 1 season in the Championship (PL side would be great) and then if he's done well go on loan to a PL side the season after.

Obertan could be sold, Park definitely won't. Diouf should be sold and Welbeck loaned out again (I think he really should be taking Owen's spot personally)

I don't see the logic in this selling Park nonesense. I know he's came out recently and said he might not end his career at United but you have to admire the honesty of the lad. He's not getting any younger but himself and his 3 lungs still have alot to offer

There's no way Man Utd should sell Park! Even following Young's arrival as well as potentially others. Even if he's not gonna play as big a role as he has in recent seasons, getting rid of a player of his experience, commitment, attitude, consistency and work-rate who can also play in central midfield for you (which seems like a position really needing bolstering right about now) and is super versatile would be a huge mistake!

Luckily for Manchester Utd, I believe Fergie rates him far higher than most fans seem to do so I very much doubt he'd be willing to let him go unless a really good offer comes in and the player wants to leave.

We'll see. I don't deny his attributes, but he's one of a reasonably small number of players we could sell that would command a decent fee. And I don't get how we're spending all this money!

He also saved more shots from outside the area than any keeper last year.

Means he'll slot right into our central midfield's policy of getting close to but not stopping other teams attackers outside the box ;)

Nah I can only see Modric going to Chelsea if he does leave (which he won't IMO).

I honestly don't think we'll sign a central midfielder (or probably anyone) now, which is so odd considering we do desperately need someone.

I had the pleasure of watching this kid from the stands when I was in Madrid back in January in an Atletico vs. Racing Santander match. Made a few great saves including one super man one right at the end to deny Racing all 3 points which would've driven the crowd MAD! lol They have the best fans in Spain! They already called him "El Rey" (King David De Gea) back then and their faith and chants were justified with that great last minute save to at least get a 'draw'.

He still has a LOT to learn but I like him a lot! He's already a good keeper and who knows maybe can be the next Casillas!

De Gea is hardcore Atleti. He'd never sign for Real. Actually that's not true... you can never say never in football but it's as unlikely as Torres going there.

I feel like that's part of our scouting criteria now:

1. Is he good?
2. Is he available?
3. Will he want to go to Madrid in a year?

Actually, maybe the order is backwards ;)

Speculation surrounding Samir Nasri wanting a transfer is gathering pace.His allegedly latest quotes suggests he is Old Trafford bound or any other big club that can afford him, it seems.

If what Nasri is saying about money meaning nothing, I'd like to think he's Utd bound but I doubt it.

I still can't see it, would signify something majorly, majorly wrong in the Arsenal ranks if he did come to us.

Would love it though, he's a magnificent player and offers something a little different to what we've already got. Don't usually go for his type of player either.

Has he refuted them or something or are you just presuming it?

Nasri would be unbelievable signing but my only thought would be
"Why did we sign Young and not get a DM instead"
