It's still a lot for a player who would be out of contract in a year though.

Anyone heard the rumour that De Gea could have second thoughts about joining us?

I think that's my issue with it. An awful lot considering you could've got him for far less if you waited 6 months.

The latest I read was about how he wants to emulate his idols Schmeichel and Van der Sar if he joins us.Rumours surrounding him also suggests that his family plus his girlfriend is moving over to england too.

I do not understand why he would leave it till after the U21Euros to end to make it a decision.He should have just signed before the tournament started and go have a blinder afterwards.

Waiting to see if another club comes in with an offer if he plays well? Like Mata, I imagine.

Maybe, but which other Champions League teams are in the market for a keeper at the moment? They all seem to be pretty much covered for now.
The only reason I can think of is that he didn't want the added pressure during the U21s of being 'United's replacement for Edwin' and knowing a lot of people would be scrutinizing his performances?

I'd have thought he'd have the same amount of pressure anyway due to the speculation? Maybe more pressure, if anything.

not to excited by Young, He's a good player and gives us an attacking option on the left so Nani can get more games on the right and is will be able to rotate in and out.

De Gea will join us when he changes agents.

Just realised he's already 26, as well. Not entirely sure where he's going to fit in either.

Will it mean less games for Valencia? More games for Nani on the right?

There's still a big gaping hole in our central midfield area waiting to be filled. Meh, Fergie knows best and all that...

I think he was our backup to Sanchez, I think it became clear by the end of last week Sanchez is either out of our price bracket or doesn't want to come here so we finalised this deal.

He'll be a good option to have, any injuries to Valencia or Nani wont require calling on Obertan at least!

I don't see Valencia playing in the middle unless its in a 3 and IMO apart from Real Madrid or Barcelona. were sticking to a 4-2-3-1 with Rooney in the middle of the 3 and Hernandez up top.

:LOL: I would change the Username Metallica but then I can't think of anything.

If we sign a CM of top quality we should be in a good position, I am worried about Chelsea if they pull of Modric and a player like Neymar.

From a tactical point of view, at least Sanchez's fantastic work-rate probably would've rendered playing Park in the big games unneccesary. With Young, we definitely improve our squad but was improving the wide areas really necessary? I guess we'll find out this season.

@VALON-YNWA - I'd rather got Young than Henderson, because Young played well in Villa for 3 years and have had the most assists through last 5 seasons, if you don't count Cesc... Young costed us less than Henderson who played shite even in u-21 matches on recent cup.

If Wes comes, I can see him wearing 18, if not Youg will get that shirt...and maybe Rafa will swap to get 2 and Jones with 6...

anywayz, I still hope we get a central mid, but seems that our 3 player limit has been met already, and still missing the "star" power Fergie was talking about......(unless he felt that Young was that "star")

Jones wasn't expected for this Summer so I'd say "2" of that 3 are signed and 1 more is on the way.

Not sure it works like that though? Surely the money on Jones was planned for next summer, so has had to be taken out of this summers spends instead? It's not exactly easy for the Glazers to come up with £16m-£19m out of nowhere to cover a transfer that was unplanned.

you can have some of Liverpools. you seem to be stocking up on wingers when you have loads

and Liverpool are stocking up on midfielders when they have loads instead of the needed wingers.

I was thinking that a while ago, long before we were linked to all the people we are today.
I just dont think we'd be able to afford him at the end of the loan. And if he worked out well for us, I wouldnt want to see him leave at the end.
This is obviously assuming we'd even be able to get him on loan.
