Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

some would argue he is not human and has a friend as a donkey

i will get my coat....
Wouldn't it be "has a donkey as a friend"?

If you'd started that sentence with "Some say", it could've been a line out of Top Gear, albeit, a shit one.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Exactly, though didn't City confirm that if maximum bonuses were hit Yaya would end up with that?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Neville should've been off I'm hearing, any reason why he wasn't? Even he acknowledged that it should've been a sending off?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hmm, he got booked when he seemed to take the ball in a nothing tackle with Etherington, then got let off when he fouled Etherington again a few minutes later, although there wasn't a lot of contact but he did go under him. I think the ref was probably aware the first one was very, very soft.

As for acknowledging it... he pulled a face, if that's what you mean?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I genuinely don't know why he wasn't sent off to be honest.

Two bookable, mistimed tackles on Etherington, wouldn'tve had a complaint if he'd seen red.

In the meantime, feed the pea and he will score! CHICHARITO!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well why don't you wait til you've seen it for yourself to make an opinion instead of going off 99% of the world who hate Gary Neville and don't like United.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

99% of Twitter hate United? Interesting stat, where did you get that from then?

@philmcnulty Phil McNulty
Gary Neville very fortunate to escape a red card after a bad foul on Matthew Etherington shortly after being booked. A lucky man. #fb

@johncrossmirror John Cross
Good old Fergie. Neville so lucky not to see red yet he still berates ref. Amazing. #mufc

@ChristianMcr Christian Machowski
Clever stuff by Fergie to intimidate the ref at half time, so he won't dare to send off Neville in the second half #somethingsneverchange

Stoke 0-1 Man Utd Phil McNulty reports: "Manchester United the more dangerous side and deserve their lead - but Stoke City not out of this by any means. Answers on a postcard explaining how Gary Neville is still on the pitch please."

1413: He's got away with one there, and boy does he know it. Matthew Etherington runs around Gary Neville down the Stoke left again and Neville takes him out - it's a stonewall booking, everyone in the crowd knows it and Neville holds his hands up, but referee Andre Marriner keeps his cards in his pocket. Massive call.

Matherto seems pretty good for giving an honest impression without having tinted glasses on, fair play. Not the first time he's gave an impression that matches what everyone else bar United fans are saying ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It'll be interesting to see what other United fans say, although I predict Abou will side with you and that it was NEVER a question of Neville going off, but maybe BeachRyan will agree with Matherto.

I'll watch MOTD tonight, unless it comes up on Youtube before hand or something I guess. I'm looking forward to seeing Hernandez's goal, sounds pretty special :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Chicharito!!

Our passing in the 2nd half was really sloppy (even Scholes...), must be a case of nerves given our recent habit of losing our lead.

Neville, if the first yellow was a yellow then that 2nd challenge should of seen him sent off. Clever of Fergie to bring him off before the 2nd half started, because the ref would of wanted to send him off after realising his error. Instead he let Stoke get away with a few nasty challenges.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ref used his judgement - that's what they're actually supposed to do. He booked Neville for a nothing challenge - and his first - and realised his mistake so didn't send him off. Typical of Stoke for that to be the big talking point. God they're a disgusting football team. Always going through the back, wasting time when it's level, moaning and diving to 'win' free kicks and their fans honestly appear to enjoy watching the opposition make mistakes than their team play football. Everytime Stoke lose a football match, fans of football should rejoice. God I detest trips to the Britannia.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hernandez`s clinical finishing.... that Header was funny you got to admit. I dislike Stokes very much too beachryan .

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Javier! :DD

First booking was a bit soft but the 2nd was a yellow which he didn't get booked for funnily.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Admittedly Neville was lucky to avoid a second yellow, but it sounds like the media are missing the reason why Fergie was giving the ref hell at half time. Just after the second yellow appeal, a Stoke player lunged at Fletcher. Blatant foul. From behind. The result? Nothing given, not even a 'play on'.

Well done to our defence for once again stuffing Stoke's one weapon. Thought Vidic was immense, just needs to work on his distribution a bit more.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah the ref was a serious 'homer' yesterday. Can't remember his name, but was remarkably inconsistent. Right before nev's first nothing booking shawcross went through the back of Nani...no card. I doubt it made MOTD, but Delap also shoved Evra in the box when he had a chance of nicking it past the keeper. Anyway, as I said, would rather not talk about the referee, we won a tough game in a touch stadium. And were the better team throughout.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Like I said, I dont agree with the reasons for saying what he said, but he still had a point. I'm really hoping a part of the reason why Rooney signed was cuz he might have been promised some signings.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The one player you'd think would be in there is Rooney though, but he managed to fuck that one up all by himself at the World Cup.

Just shows how much of a bearing the world cup plays though with Asamoah Gyan getting nominated despite having a modest season playing for Rennes in Ligue Une.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Exactly, real shame they've decided to join the awards together as the Ballon d'Or was actually quite accurate but the FIFA awards always been utter crap.

On today's game I really hope Bebe and Obertan start tonight :...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Bebe starts apparently. Ravel Morrison and Brady are in the squad too but not sure if they'll make the bench.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

They both start, and Obertan is playing as an AMF/SS. Should be good to see how he does there as he probably suits it more than the wings.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Only 45 mins but Bebe hasnt really impressed me much. Obertan on the other hand is looking good.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought it was a good night all round.

Carrick ran the game from midfield, much improved from recent performances so hopefully he can kick on from here. Same with Ji and Gibson, good shift from both.

Smalling looked class. Really assured performance, won countless headers and tackles and made many interceptions. Neither goal was anything to do with him and both happened when Brown moved into the middle with him.

Bebe and Obertan were good, very positive play from both. The only thing lacking was their final balls but this will come with time. They were terrifying the Wolves defence at times, and the goal will do Bebe good.

Only negative was Macheda really, he really struggles upfront on his own, but he's learning so not too worried. He looked better again when Hernandez joined him too.

Chicharito, I fucking love him. Legend in the making, seriously. Solskjaer mkII.
