Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

very KINDA words... :BOP: I really think Rooney will stay 160k will do it! Roon will be nuts to move anywhere else that`s why Gerrard stayed. I just can`t wait to laugh at all these fans in here the fickle bunch , just like we were in the summer

Gerrard stayed cos he got death threats from the Scouse mafia.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Reports balclava-clad nutters have turned up at Wayne Rooney's house to unveil a 'move to City and you're dead' banner. Crazy stuff.

speak for yourself :DD

Rooney can move clubs and for whatever reasons he wants. No player has to stay with a club.

The shit thing is he has waited until Man United can't get what he is worth. Also he said he wanted to stay at United for life, not so long ago.

The final thing is if he goes to City. That would be a big slap in the face.

So for all of those reasons, I can understand completely why Man United fans are pissed off.

Reminds me of the Adebayor situation (although I think Rooney is a better player and has a bigger connection with his team). We loved him, then he got above his station and started being a dick and disrespecting the club. There is really no way back from that. Usually when it gets that far, it is the point of no return.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

not to mention Adebayor is a foreign player, while Rooney is home player...for many considered future captain of england and Manchester United.. i just can´t imagine him playing for other english club after united.. i guess he will move abroad or he will made up his mind and stay..

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

To be fair, I dont think he's young enough to make more than one more team anyway, Rooney or no Rooney.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Carrick the most high-profile casualty of #mufc summer cull - Jordan Henderson and Jack Rodwell are confirmed targets (via@DuckerTheTimes)

Interesting, I think Carrick is a very good player and I'd be surprised if he was sold off.

Twats.

Also, Carrick hasn't shown any form for a long time, he's been a liability at times with his passing. There's no doubting his ability, he just isn't showing it often enough anymore.

If Rooney goes abroad then I'll believe he only left United because he's sick of the media.

If he stays in England, then... I just can't and won't take that excuse of his. I don't like superstars who whinge and whinge when they should be concentrating on lifting the club. They should carry the pressure if they consider themselves as superstars. They should be the ones other look up to, not leave to join other superstars and get more money because its "easier" that way.

Yup u can say that again. This guy is huge :D Totally off-topic but doesn't he have a striking resemblace to actor Michael Clarke Duncan?

Regarding the Man Utd-Sunderland incident, u're right, i just found it on the BBC Site so fair play to him for doing a fine job.
:WORSHIP:may be you are right

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So, Rooney is staying and been given a 5 year contract.

Still want shut of him then?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

@iainmacintosh Iain Macintosh
Imagine if someone in your office announced that he was off 'cos you were all useless, but then returned on Monday with a massive payrise...

Exactly. He's been shit for months, but now he just happens to be given a nice five year deal and likely a hefty signing bonus.

Pretty good way to reassure him that you're going to improve the squad then.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He is going to have to build bridges. Saw a quote from Evra saying that Rooney shouldn't get back into the team again (obviously before he agreed this deal). So obviously some of the players are pissed off? (If true?)

Fans will be pissed aswell, but if he puts in some great performances and proves that he wants to be there and work for the team, then there should be no reason for it all to go back to normal. People can make mistakes.

This happened with Adebayor though and when we gave him a new deal with loads of money he never played aswell for us again. He thought he was the bees knees and never looked hungry and seemed to not try for the club.

Rooney has a different temprement to Adebayor though, so I am sure if he has decided to stay, he will make the most of it....we will wait and see.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I honestly don't know what to think at the moment, it's been very confusing. All I know is, this could of been handled so much better by Rooney and let's face it, his agent. He'll have some work to do to win back the trust of the fans and team-mates now.

Reminds me of the Rio situation a few years back.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Am I being negative in thinking that signing a contract just means we'll get top dollar if we sell him?
If he is staying then he's going to have to get his head down & work hard to win over everyone again. A few good performances would be a start.

Heard a rumour that Scholes did a two footed over the top tackle on him on Tuesday - might explain the injury...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hopefully it's exactly what it means.

Let the cunt rot in the reserves till summer and sell him for as much as possible now we're not powerless.

I don't want to see the bastard in a United shirt again, and I'd be surprised if the other players can get on with him after what he said.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So Ferguson looks bad for letting a player upsurp him, Rooney looks bad for being greedy and saying the things he said, your fans get a bad name for the stunt pulled last night, and your teams morale and spirit will take a battering over this and the words Rooney used, basically saying they wernt fit to be on the same pitch as him.

Nice bit of work their Wayne.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rio on twitter

"It was never in doubt in my mind tweeps, wazza is Man utd through and through there's no way I could have seen him playing for another club, defo not a prem club anyway."

Had to love this from him to:

"What does stan collymore know...he's talking like what he thinks is the gospel truth. For some1 who "loves the game" soo much NOW where was his love for the game when he was a player playing the game???"
