Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

very KINDA words... :BOP: I really think Rooney will stay 160k will do it! Roon will be nuts to move anywhere else that`s why Gerrard stayed. I just can`t wait to laugh at all these fans in here the fickle bunch , just like we were in the summer

I was spot on, I think fergie n gill met their match. Stredford imo pwn Mutd and got himself n player a pay raise from a strange time when mutd are strapped in debt.Anyhow, a few goals n everyone will sing ROONEY ROONEY. Like if nothing ever happen :SMUG:

Well, we know his flaws, drinking n fannies, having a pint in the box, hookers and threatening to leave the club even when his performance is dire, for a pay raise  he`s a footballer not a priest

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Nothings really changed for me since the news broke, Hes a mercenary cunt. Don't rule out a summer sale just yet.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'm pissed off. He doesn't deserve that increase, its disgusting. It'll take a lot for him to build bridges now. In a way I think i'd prefer it if we were using it to get a better price for when we sell him in the summer.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I will be amazed if he does manage to regain the support from the fans, Maybe not boo's but he doesn't deserve his name belted out like it was prior to all this.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

There's no doubt in my mind he'll be booed when he steps out for England too.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

My initial thought as soon as I heard the news was "At least he wont be able to leave on the cheap now" - unless something extraordinary happens - I can't see him being at Utd within 12 months time.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Must admit, if this is just a case of "sign for now Wayne, we'll let you go in the summer, but this way, we'll get more for you" then you'll really have no reason to boo him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We'll really have no reason to boo him?

He's been a whopping cunt, surely thats reason enough to boo him?

I really hope he fucks off in summer and we get shitloads for him, regardless of whether it's used to service the debt instead of getting new players, Wayne can fuck off.

He's always been a whopping cunt though, and you never booed him. Signing his new contract might mean that the debt will be serviced for at least another year, so be thankful!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah but he was never a whopping cunt to United themselves, now he has been.

He's fucked us over just so he can have more money and clearly affected the manager and his team-mates.

Good on Scholesy for nailing him in training yesterday.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Have literally no idea how to feel. Some relief that he won't be at City, but I'd pretty much sorted the new look United team in my head, and was reasonably excited. Also helped me get over my underlying fear that Rooney will be washed up in 2 years time when his pace is completely gone (though, that goal against Arsenal 6 months ago wasn't half bad).

Personally, I'm still thinking this is 1 of 2 things:

1. Stretford played his hand and it blew up way bigger than he expected it to, and Rooney bitch slapped him into signing (though you could obviously argue it all worked out for Stretford anyway).

2. Rooney will be off in the summer, but we'll get real money this way.

Either way, he's going to have to be really, really good when he comes back. Maybe this will act as a catalyst, not just for our team to start playing again, but also for some signings.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Gerrard stayed cos he got death threats from the Scouse mafia.

Just seen this, thuoght i'd remind you that it wasn't true.

The story was invented by some cockney paper (Evening Standard i think?) and they admitted a while later that it wasn't true.

How dare you let the truth get in the way of a good story.

rooney is a good player, if he keeps scoring for ManU as he did last season, i dont think many fans will mind it. at the end, it's not you who pay his salary, and he's human and he isn't flawless, so let him be, and if he plays badly this season, he might be sold and since he has such a long contract ManU will get good money for him. it's a win-win situation.

The whole "he's only human" thing is getting tired now as a defence for someone who cheated on his pregnant wife several times with a prostitute, just a few years after he cheated on her with another prostitute.

so let him cheat and sleep with prostitutes, why care so much about his personal life? what counts is his performance on the field and if he plays well after this new contract then it's alright. he is not the first one to request high salary or to cheat on his wife with prostitutes, there are other people who did this before and will do in future, what makes a football player different from other humans? you people simply want to hate on someone as soon as there's a reason. and, if you made rooney to your personal idol and now you are hating him cuz you are disapponted, well then it's your own fault, don't be so naive, don't look for rolemodels.

Well done, you completely missed my point.

The attitude that "he's only human, so let him do what he wants and still chant his name if he scores" is pathetic.

I didn't say he was different from other humans you dolt, i think anyone who does what he has done is a piece of shit and should be abhorred rather than praised. Sports people shouldn't be role-models, but as they have millions of young fans they should act responsibly whilst in the public eye, and there's no defence at all for what he's done.

It's the same in all forms of celebrity, if a pop singer does the same then they should also be held responsible for their actions, rather than having it swept under the carpet with the age old excuse "he's only human".

I didn't say anything about "chanting his name". I said he's a good player and as long as he plays well I don't care how much he gets payed or who he sleeps with. So obviously it was you who misunderstood my initial post.

Also don't get personal and keep your little insults for yourself.

You defended him with skewed logic. Simple as that.
