^so not just the ankle then.

But the point remains, regardless of whether it's the same body part or not he's missed a lot of football through injury and as it's a recurring injury it's even more risky than a player with different injuries as his ankle will never be 100%. How can you honestly sit there and say Aquilani's not injury prone and back that up by saying he always re-injures his ankle?
You should know that when Juventus signed him they made a lot of studies to him, they took to him differnet doctors in Italy to make sure his condition. And they were the one who said that physically he was perfect, and he just needed more confidence.
About the comparison between Aquilani and Adam. There is no point in doing that, one is an international player who has played so far in Roma, Liverpool and Juventus, and was very close to Arsenal and Real Madrid. The other one is playing in Blackpool.

What a ridiculous thing to say. It was only a few years ago that Tevez and Mascherano were at West Ham ffs.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

So trajectory doesnt matter to you ?
Plus, are you really going to compare a guy that has played so far in the Scottish League and Blackpool to Tevez and Mascherano who had played before arriving to West Ham and then Utd and Liverpool, in the two biggest clubs in Argentina and in Corinthians ? That would be ridiculous.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Well, lets be honest, the Argentinian league isn't as good as the Premier League, so it doesn't matter what clubs they played for over there.

To say you'd rather have someone who has played for big clubs over someone who hasn't purely for that reason is pathetic. Prior to signing for Liverpool, Sami Hyypia had played for no big teams.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

You interpretate what you want.
What I did say is that Aquilani is much much better than Adam and the fact that he played for that kind of clubs shows it. That is different of saying that he is better just because he played for better clubs.

How can you say that ? I agree with you that the PL is much better than the Argentinian League (and the gap has been extending all these years).
But, Tevez and Mascherano played for Boca and River when that actually meant something. Of course it matters. Higuain played for River before going to Real Madrid, Kaka played for Sao Paulo before going to Milan and I could carry on ...

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

so you're saying that you can tell he's quality because he's played for several big clubs?

Christian Poulsen has played for Shalke, Sevilla, Juventus and Liverpool, so he must be at least equal to Aquilani, if not better.

I think that's check mate.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I think the best English clubs are better than most Argentinian clubs (although i'm not sure that Man Utd would absolutely beat Boca Juniors), but are you sure that Fulham are better than Newell's Old Boys or Racing?
It is not that obvious that the EPL is a stronger league than Argentian league.

Concerning Aquilani or Adam: definitely Aquilani.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Reina to United is a non starter, far more likely its Wenger who has held of getting a keeper who is interested though.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

from what i've been told by a Spanish-speaking friend, his interview has been completely mistranslated by the English papers and he didn't say anything about leaving, all he said was that he wants to win the league and get back into the Champions' League.

but what he didnt say concerns me...or rahther what he said?"Yea, well it looks like Van der Sar will be putting up his gloves, it's also being said that Arsenal is also looking for a new keeper as are many other teams . That's how the league is now but I can't do anything, I can't say anything as clearly I am under contract by Liverpool."

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

no need to concern...i gave up to care about players moving or staying at the club..let´s just enjoy this season and it will be better next one..with or without Pepe... i would not blame him..but he knows what might happend if he moves to United.. for example...i just dont give a ... if he does..

Liverpool has long history despite players moving in and out the club...he is top class keeper but he is not alone top class in the world.

No, I didnt. And I think Ive made that clear.
Great, now you are comparing a player that has the best years of his career ahead of him with a player at the end of his career.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Good interview.....the man loves Liverpool.....and for all his mistakes..
he had a lot of success that people like Redknapp and Mancini can only dream about (CL)
he is still a Legend....the best since Dalglish.

But now is the time for Kenny.....the man deserves to do his job
after 20 years.....I hope it is Kenny that leads us to #19.

It has to be Kenny for full time....given how the fans and players
are behind him....

For Rafa....he will have to be successful once again....
his reputation has taken a beating after the Inter sacking...
I hope he succeeds at a team where he can get full support from the owners and is not wheeling/dealing.
because he deserves success....I would not want to see him in England
at any other club...maybe he should go back to Spain and recreate
his Valencia success...now that would really be something....
I can't see him managing any other team in England......

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

He will definitely managin another team in England.
Raffa's carreer is at a turning point. He will have to consider very strongly his next job offer. Another failure is not an option.
To be honest, i don't understand why an intelligent man like Benitez wanted to succede Mourinho at Inter...that was a no win situation.

you still haven't quite grasped it have you? I'm not comparing anyone. You said that one way you can tell he's quality is that he's played for several top clubs. Well so has Poulsen.

Kerching! For one. Another, he's probably thinking he's taking over a pretty successful team that could have gone on to win a few more titles. Wasn't to be though.

I never said that. This is the third time I remind you that. I never said that a player is good because he has played for top clubs.
And about Poulsen, because you brought it up, he was very good in Schalke and Sevilla (which are good clubs, but no top clubs). But in Juventus he was a total disaster and the only reason he came to play here was because we hired one of the worst managers Ive ever seen in my life.

erm...that's you saying exactly that. The fact that he's played for several big clubs shows he's a quality player is what you're saying.

Well, when you played for several clubs, you and gave a good impression and also were close to other big clubs, you must surely be a quality player (or at least must have been when you played for those clubs).
You gave me an incorrect example with Poulsen. As I said he was good in Schalke and Sevilla (which I think are clubs that by no means can be compared to Juventus or Liverpool). From your comments Im sure you never saw him play in Juventus, he was AWFUL. Anyway, another brilliant buy of the same guys that paid millions for mediocre/decent players like him (10), Andrade (10), Amauri (22), Iaquinta (11), Felipe Melo (25).

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

alrite then boys.lets settle this once and for all.whip your cocks out,i'll get the ruler........

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)
