We should move foward from Aquilani. I say it because A LOT of fans want him back. If you look at Rawk one month ago 3/4 fans asked for him.
Juventus is not going to let him go. Have you seen how he has been playing this season ? As Rafa said, when fit, he is a 30-40 million player, and they are going to buy him for just 13.5.
The only way he could come back is if he rejected Juventus offer and decided to come back here. I dont see that happening really, Marotta decided he would be the playmaker of their new ambitious project and let´s not forget that he is playing for the biggest club in Italy (at least, the club that has more Seria A).

Anyway, did you see what Diego Cavalieri has done last match? Another player that the diabolic Hodgson decided was not good enough for Liverpool.

He isn't going to get in in front of Reina anyway. About time a keeper did that though! Serves the guy right for being a cocky prick. My mates dad did that in a cup final years ago. Bellend!! Show some respect to your opponent and hit it properly. That's what I say.

I like Aquilani, i really do, i think he's a quality player, but i can't see where he'd get into the Liverpool midfield now, especially once Suarez and Carroll are fully fit and playing regularly. It'll be those two up front with four midfielders from Lucas, Meireles, Gerrard, Maxi, Kuyt...plus whoever we buy in the summer and i think we'll definitely add width with the likes of Young coming in. So realistically there won't be a gap for him, i wouldn't drop Meireles or Gerrard for him and Lucas is in a different position so i wouldn't drop him either. Even if we play 3-5-2 like we have been there's still no room for him. I can't see him coming back.

Really proud of the lads with yesterdays performance.Good,solid and creative not a blockbuster of a game but what a great job done in nulifying chelsea. They are just the type of games that in different circumstances win you championships, although that result alone maybe a sign that chelsea arent going to retain the prem this year,even after united slipped up.

Any of you who is too young to remember the first coming of the king i urge you to cherish these times because the man is a living legend.what he doesnt know about football isnt worth knowing.

Hodgson with all his 35 years of management....
was so inflexible in his formations.....
he had a rigid 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1.......with a deep lying back 4
and no pressing ....no pushing forward.....with long punts up to
strikers chasing after scraps...
playing people out of position (Agger, Meireles)

Amazing then...to see Kenny who has been out of management
for 20 years to come in with Clarke and change the formation
to 3-5-2 and be flexible, more attack minded, playing people
in the right position...
Kenny has always been in touch with the game....he is a big fan
of Guardiola's system.....

Dalglish should have got the job in the summer...
but I believe all things work out for best......they called Dalglish

I think Aquilani would suit the style of play perfectly, although we need more wingers then CM's. But if Meireles/Gerrard get's injured you're pretty light again. I think it would be more a matter of any of them accepting more time on the bench, which really they should as they can't play for a whole season and rotating them to have each one play 30/40 matches is only better for the squad imo.

I think Jones qualifies as one of the English home grown players now doesn't he that's why he was brought in and Cavalieri was sent packing?

About Aquilani, he will be perfect for Liverpool...the ideal replacement for Gerrard (in a couple of years). With Aquilani in the sqaud, Liverpool can rotate in midfield.

You can acommodate a player of his quality with no problem. When all players fit, you put Gerrard on the right wing (he was absolutely outstanding when he played in that position a few years ago).
Good to see that now people are realising the kind of player we let go. I was attacked when I said those things in August.

Gerrard is a better player than Aquilani so it would be a really stupid idea to move Gerrard out of position to accommodate a lesser player.

Nobody ever said Aquilani wasn't good enough so i don't know why you have that attitude, we all said we'd rather he stayed but most could understand why he didn't. Some however are obviously biased towards him and will accept no criticism of him.

Gerrard has been playing since a long time as an attacking midielder. Now, he is playing as a central midfielder so that also would be taking him out of position. Plus I dont agree that playing him as a right wing would be a stupid idea at all. He was world class when he played there, one of the best seasons of his career.
Anyway, I think you misunderstood my comment. It was meant with any particular attitude.
I do accept criticism of all players. But I think that he should stay in Juventus. Why would he return to a club that, as soon he was fully fit, tried to get rid of him as if he was some kind of Poulsen tumor ?

I really doubt Aquilani will want to return to Liverpool...
He is more suited to the slower game in Italy and will
be the main man in midfield....unlike here he will have
to compete..

He is still a very injury prone player...and we can't afford that.

I dont think that he is more injury prone that let ´s say Gerrard. He had an ankle injury and, because of a poor medical team, he reinjured and reinjured it. Since we got him fully fit, he hasnt had a single injury.

it's been 6 months mate, he hasn't managed to play more than 35 games in a season for 6 years, he's had an awful lot of injuries in his career so i think the past few months aren't quite enough to say he's no longer injury prone. Lets see if he makes it through the season. Just as a comparison, Daniel Agger was out for around 3 months this season yet so far he's only played 4 less games than Aquilani as Aquilani has only played in league games for Juve. Also, Gerrard missed about 6 weeks and yet he's played more games than Aquilani this season and the last time Gerrard played less than 35 games in a season was 11 years ago, so yes you can say Aquilani is far more injury prone than Gerrard.

My point is that the only injury that Aquilani has had in his whole career was the ankle. If you follow the Serie A, you would know that when he was at Roma, sometimos he would come back from his injury, play two games and then out for a few months. I remember when we bought him, that at Roma he was already running and was expected to start the season, but with us it wasnt until the end of October that he debut.
And Gerrard has 19 league apperances this season while Aquilani 22 (the top of Juventus with Chiellini and Bonucci). I dont know if you were also taking into account other competitions. If you did, you should notice that is extremely unfar since Aquilani couldnt play in the Europa League.

Exactly that.belive you me,the likes of city,chelsea even real have no problems lookin for loopholes.there was an interesting comment made by wenger bout how easy it was to go about the rules laughing it off as a joke.

I must say i agree with that.
It seems to me Charlie Adam is a very good player, but i remember players like Jimmy Bullard and Steve Sidwell being very good for newly promoted teams and failing with bigger teams.
I can't help thinking that Charlie Adam isn't Liverpool material...he could do fantastic with teams like Everton or Villa, but Liverpool (normally) is a cut above those teams...

I'm expecting Chelsea to be sponsored by Gazprom, City are already sponsored by their owners. So that will be a couple of bumper sponsorship deals being made this summer.

I hope UEFA have the balls to actually punish these clubs, but we all know how spineless they are...

i rather have adam who want´s to play here than Aquilani who does not.

Adam has been great player this season.. he is the same age or even younger than Aquilani...and he is great engine and has good passing..

Liverpool aren't going to get into the Top 4 this year! I hope they do but 5th is best to hope for. I just can't see both Spurs AND Chelsea dropping all those points (including ones we will) so it's too much to ask.

If we go on a good run then you'd prey reinforcements will be brought in in the Summer for a good puch next year.

Fergie's said he doesn't do business with Liverpool so how can they expect to get him anyway? If anything, Chelsea or Arsenal will come in for him but I'm hoping he can see a better future than what The Sulk did and stick around. Top keeper. But again, if he moved on we'd get somebody else in and move on anyway.

From what I've read, and saw a Spanish speaker who actually listened to the actual interview itself, Reina didn't say anything about leaving or joining any other club. The only thing he really said is that he wants to win the league and compete in the CL, which is obvious for any ambitious player really.

Again, it's likely to be people picking up on comments and twisting them out a bit to make a story out of it. As Pipa said, we'll cross that bridge at the end of the season. And as much as it'll be a massive blow to lose Reina (far more than Torres), we'd move on and find a suitable replacement.

If Kenny does get the job permanently, I trust him to make the right choices in letting players leave and choosing which players we should target to replace and/or strengthen the team.

You should know that when Juventus signed him they made a lot of studies to him, they took to him differnet doctors in Italy to make sure his condition. And they were the one who said that physically he was perfect, and he just needed more confidence.
About the comparison between Aquilani and Adam. There is no point in doing that, one is an international player who has played so far in Roma, Liverpool and Juventus, and was very close to Arsenal and Real Madrid. The other one is playing in Blackpool.
