Re: Liverpool Thread

Nemeth, Insua and Plessis were all promoted to train with the first team. We might see them in action tomorrow.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Guys keep an eye on this tournament

http://www.uefa.com/competitions/under17/finals/newsid=677499.html

Gerardo Bruna is playing for Spain.

Well if anything you miss that wide player that can give something extra from the wings and he's gotta be half decent if he was touted to be the "next" Messi. Btw speaking about that flash player you need I've heard you lot compare Babel to Ronaldo a few times and i never saw it, but when he came on for you lot on Wednesday he really reminded me of Ronnie, he was quick on the ball, and you were using him as a outlet to try to open up space and he scored a cracker(cech blunder aswell) give him a few seasons and maybe be at a similar level.

Can't see Babel reaching Ronaldo's level TBH. He'll be a great player in his own right though.

What's interesting is what route he takes as a player, and what type of player Rafa makes him into. He's obvious got all the tools and has immense talent. Pace, power, fantastic dribbling ability, a thunderous shot and a perfect physique for a footballer. What he's probably lacking is self confidence most of all, and decent left foot but both will come with time.

IMO, he doesn't really have the movement to be played regularly as a striker (maybe as cover for Torres). Neither do I think he has the guile (at the moment) to play off the striker like Gerrard is. I think he best position is in a kind of free role, like Ronaldo, where he can roam around the box, running from deep, and take shots. Quiet like the idea of him starting from the wing on the left, but in a more advanced position as part of a front 3.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Reina, Finnan, Insua, Carragher, Hyypia, Lucas, Mascherano, Babel, Kuyt, Gerrard, Torres.

Subs: Itandje, Voronin, Benayoun, Alonso, Skrtel.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah I notice it too ..

And it seems Ericsson has ordered his men to kill at site, and the ref somehow oblidges.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Pretty Poor game so far.

Insua, Babel, Mash and Lucas playing well.

Just think Torres is isolated again, Gerrard needs to get in the gap between midfield and defence more.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Pretty boring. We don't seem to be interested. Need a little more urgency next half.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Okay game, Babel looks well up for the game which is nice to see. Insua looks to have settled well.

I agree that we need Gerrard to link up with Torres more. He's spending far too much time out on the wings instead of in the middle trying to supply Torres.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Fitting that Torres scored. Should have won by more though.

Babel was superb, but wasteful in front of goal. Gerrard did well. Insua didn't look out of place. Heard a lot about his offensive game, but did well defensively I thought. Probably isn't confident enough to bomb forward at the moment. Voronin is shite.

Another 3 point. My aim in January was to finish with 75 points, and I think we'll get that. Only 4 losses, which is a huge improvement from last season. Now need to convert draws into wins.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Thought Insua was superb. Really comftable on the ball, quick to break away into space.

Benayoun coming on really sparked the game up.

Re: Liverpool Thread

yes thats a relief that this thread isn't locked. Stupidity on the part of users who don't read the rules of the forum when it is stickied and upfront!!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Thought you guys played quite well yesterday. I really like the look of Insua, can't wait to see more of him, looks really good on the ball and he likes to attack.

Torres took his goal well too, bit like the one against Chelsea at the start of the season, no?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Anyone of you lot think your new kit looks a bit shite? Whats the news on the transfer front?
