Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

There was a lot of unrest at the end of the Portsmouth game as well. I think most of the ground were happy with the teams performance and were singing Liverpool songs and cheering the players on but then some people started to sing songs about the owners etc.

Caused a lot of tension I believe.

Yeh you can thank SOS for that. Pathetic bunch of cunts they are. They try to intimidate other normal fans into singing their protest songs and if they don't they get treated like shit.

Most fans don't want to dwell on the negative side of things and would like to have savoured a good win and a good performance but those idiots only want to go on about the negatives constantly. It's pissing a lot of people off, they think they act on behalf of all LFC fans when in reality a hell of a lot of LFC fans can't stand them.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I remember reading a while ago about a group of players including Ian St. John who formed a small group in the Liverpool squad who didn't like the fact that Shankly was only about the football and hardly spoke to them.

Seemed to work for him :D

Isn't the same though is it, they were still "normal", not pampered millionaire boys.

Well lets hope we dont get any of that crap tonight,we need to focus on things on the field, and get behind the lads,as you all know this is our last chance at silverware this season. some games lately the kop has been embarrasing, because you mainly only hear the away fans, then they start singing "wheres your famous atmosphere" if your gonna reclaim the kop then bloody learn to sing. lol

Re: Liverpool Thread

Guess not. Do the left wingers have a pact that they all have to forfil a role? Injured: Aurelio, Moaning:Reira, Playing: Babel.

Re: Liverpool Thread

First 20 minutes or so we were brilliant, Lucas was playing like a world class midfielder!

It's gone a bit downhill since then and we were very lucky that Hazard didn't score so we need to be a bit more careful. Agger especially, his header resulted in Hazard's chance and he almost gifted them another with a headed clearance. Johnson with his odd header for a corner as well.

We can get a couple more goals here tonight though I reckon, especially if the team play like we did at the start of the game. And maybe we'll need to as I can see Lille scoring from a set piece. Insua is being picked out again as the weak link in our defence, we need Aurelio back ASAP.

Re: Liverpool Thread

How can you have a penalty in the game yet no injurytime added.

Welcome to Europa League; We make EPL Referee's look good!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yep, if Vidic wasn't shitting himself about facing Torres again before this match then I'm sure he is now

He's doing well this season, considering he's spent time injured again. Maybe not a "brilliant" season but not too shabby I guess ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Phew! what a sigh of relief when torres got the third, as i had nightmare scenario's running around my brain of hazard snatching a late goal,or some kind of riise type own goal.Bring on the quarters.:)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Wow nice goalkeeping by Reina for making Hazard miss that one on one. Torres will now be pretty pumped up against MU. How did Gerrard play today?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Who are your danger players and ones we should keep an eye on? :)

Everyone. We've already scored 100 goals this season. We're a very well oiled machine. Benfica are probably playing the best football I remember seeing in my life (I'm 30).

But ok, here you go:

Dangerous:
- Saviola
- Di Maria
- Aimar
- Cardozo

Eye on:
- Ramires
- Javi Garcia
- David Luiz

Re: Liverpool Thread

Ohhh Saviola and Aimar? Haven't seen those for a few seasons but always liked them. Heard a lot about Di Maria as well, being linked to Chelsea and Man Utd for quite a lot of money.

Looking forward to the games :)

Well, if you want to hear more about Benfica, ask your Evertonian friends. ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

 :APPLAUD:

I should check out Benfica on Football Manager actually. I've always chosen them as my Portuguese team but haven't managed in Portugal for ages now.

Either way, good luck for the rest of the season in your league :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Will be a good game, I can see Di Maria raping Insua if they decide to play him right instead of left.

Re: Liverpool Thread

If Pool win the Europa League, do they get a free place in the Champions League next season?

No, it was talked about but scrapped i think. It would mean we're automatically in the Europa League next year and the Premier League would get an extra place, if we finish fourth it'd be another extra place added i think.

Re: Liverpool Thread

How many's it gonna be on Sunday then?

3-0? 4-0?

(Hopefully my completey pessimistic apporach will work as usual and we'll actually beat you for once)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Guess I should head over to your thread and say the same. :P
I'll be happy with a draw, anything more is great.

Tbh I think drawing Benfica and possible one of the Spanish is better for Liverpool. They won't be clear favourites, especially with the form this season.

Gerrard will get the winner no doubt.

Whilst elbowing Vidic in the process. :D

Who's the ref for the match? I think that will probably have the biggest impact ont eh result. If it's a weakwilled f#%kwit atleast one Pool player will be sent off, after all Fergie has been laying the groundwork this week. Although with it being so obvious I would hope the ref would be p!ssed off enough for it to backfire.
