Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

And what about the other victories against Chelsea and Juventus ? That ones were also luck ?
Are you talking about the one with the "goal" that Luis Garcia scored? Yeah, that definately wasnt luck. :BORED:

Re: Liverpool Thread

Steven Gerrard

FFS, this is getting ridiculous :P

You don't rate him, I obviously do. End of story.

You'd be a fool to not rate Gerrard. But to say Rafa was even one of many reasons for his improvement is laughable.
Most top players have acknowledged their coach's influence at some point. Take Drogba for example. He has said on many occasions that Mourinho is the man who made him into the lethal striker he is today. Ronaldo always says Sir Alex has been like his second father to him. Liverpool players on the other hand never seem to give the impression that Rafa has that kind of relationship with his team.

do you understand football?

Lets just say its not just about scoring goals.

Chelsea didnt deserve to win because they couldnt score at home and they didnt score at Anfield. How does that make Liverpool "lucky" victors of that contest.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Because a dodgy decision made by the ref went in your favour, which means the outcome was decided by someone other than the 11 Liverpool players on the pitch, which means you got lucky. Simples.
And yes, football is just about scoring goals. Who was the better team or who played better is all just a matter of opinion. The only thing that counts is goals and winning games. If you were right, Arsenal fans would have been so thrilled with what they've achieved in the last 5 years.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Interesting tactics from Ferguson; can't stop Torres? Just kick him, that'll do.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Unless Torres can play 75% of your matches this year you have no shot at the league. The first goal just sums it up - medicore performance and then one chance and a goal from the best player in the world.

But without him...even with Gerrard...no chance.

Good win for you lot today. But glance at the table eh?

Oh, and does Carragher have some dodgy pictures of the ref or something? I do not understand how that is not a red, but all marginal decisions went Pool's way, Mariner clearly swayed by the Kop?

GET IN!!!

Despite the ref being shockingly poor, that was a very good performance from us and we deserved the win today. Good on Ngog for the second as well, the pressure on him must've been immense!

:BOP:

And before any sour Mancs come in and try to start some kind of arguement, I can't be bothered, too busy celebrating so don't try to take the shine away because it wont happen! :SMUG:

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah best team won, we were poor and hardly created anything and you took your chance and the 2nd was bound to happen when we threw everyone forward.

No point making excuses about the poor officiating and dodgy decisions cos at the end of the day we didnt deserve to earn a point let alone a win.

Enjoy it cos you won't have much else to smile about this season ;)

Give it a break, will you.

Nothing beats the high I just got after Ngog scored. Nothing.

Re: Liverpool Thread

And Lucas was superb today, the MOTM easily and showed how good he can (and should) be when he gets into his game :D

:D

Re: Liverpool Thread

The tactic of having Lucas and Mascherano in there to do nothing but foul us and subsequently disrupt our attacks worked very well.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah, didn't mean to sound so bitter, post match blues. Better team won today.

We're both going to be looking up at Chelsea at the end of the season though...

Re: Liverpool Thread

So much bitterness in here all of a sudden. Don't you have your own thread to be bitter in? ;)

Certainly worked better than the tactic of having Vidic kick the shit out of Torres ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

That's all Vidic is good at.

I can recall more times when he's clattered into someone totally missing the ball than I can match saving tackles.
