Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar has announced plans for a social club website where users can have their in-game performances tracked online.

The service, titled The Rockstar Social Club, will allow users to gain access to leaderboards and performance-based competitions and awards. Players will register using their Xbox Gamertag or PlayStation Network ID.

Grand Theft Auto IV will be the first game to feature on the Rockstar Social Club and will offer players a virtual map and tracker of single-player data, a single-player leaderboard, a ranking of milestones achieved in the game and a Hall of Fame.

The site will also track the first players to compete the game and will send an 'ultra-rare' commemorative 'key to the city' to the first ten gamers to complete the title.

Rockstar also added that further competitions, leaderboards and challenges will be unveiled on a regular basis during the weeks and months following the April 29 release of the game.

GTA is like fine wine, it should be sipped slowly and savoured, only an idiot (or a Geordie lass) would want to gulp the whole glass in 3 seconds ;)

LOL I'm not that bad surely? And anyway if you look forward to a game with the opinion it'll be perfect you'll be 1. disappointed in the game and 2. have no expectations for the future ;)

But at the end of the day it's GTA, and every GTA game I've played has been awesome, they just have a very special way of going about game design IMO, and for me this type of game is just perfect fun, some games I want to be more serious, some games I just want to be great fun and a great experience, GTA always offers that :)

Good video a few thing i didnt pick up on.

The guys over at Game Videos and EGM posted up this walk-through analysis of the latest, and last, Grand Theft Auto IV trailer picking apart what they see and all the little hidden details that look to make this game shine. During my visit with the Rockstar folks yesterday they told me that about 70 percent of the video was actual gameplay footage. Yes, that chase scene is actual footage. It took one of their guys hours to perfect that high-speed 180. I also love, love the rocket contrails. I hope to get my single player hands on impressions up later today. Check back.

The best thing about the wait is that I feel confident that Rockstar wont disappoint. Over the years their games have been perfected or very customer-based. The take their time and have always guaranteed a high degree of satisfaction. I ca'nt wait. FFS.

Thanks to our very own Ki11erC from the forums for getting this entire list for us. However, we can not completely endorse these achievements as the real list as of right now, as we have no official word from Rockstar. According to Playstation World Magazine, R* will in a way aid Sony in launching Accomplishments for the system, Themed spaces for Home and provide exclusive content for the PS3 (although not as large scale as the 360's exclusive content) after the release of the 360's episodes.

Damn I was in there yesterday, they have a nice selection for the discerning Veggie, the only thing I got off father was the odd drunken beating and a the odd cider when he left me sat outside pubs with my sister on our own age 7 and 9.... Aaaahhh happy days..
