The latest issue of PSM Spain has a new article on Grand Theft Auto IV, with 20 new screenshots and the first details on GTA IV's multiplayer system. Here is a list of the new information, which is being updated constantly:
* There are 15 multiplayer game modes in GTA IV. PSM had an opportunity to play 7 of them. The rules of each game are determined by the host.
* Multiplayer supports upto 16 players.
* Your online character is fully customizable. You can alter his race, sex, hair, clothing etc.
* The game modes featured are as follows:
1. Hangman's NOOSE
2. Car Jack City
3. Bomb da Base
4. Bomb da Base II
5. Mafia Work
6. Team Mafia Work
7. Deathmatch
8. Team Deathmatch
9. Turf War
10. Cops N Crooks
11. Race
12. GTA Race
13. Deal Breaker
14. Free Mode
15. Car Jack City
* In Race and GTA Race, the host gets to decide which vehicles are involved, and the number of laps to be played. You can shoot and throw molotovs from the window, and even steal your rivals' car.
* In Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, the host gets to decide the number of pedestrians, the amount of traffic, the intervention of police, and the type of weapons.
* In Cops N Crooks, one team play as cops and the other play as criminals. The cops must stop the criminals from escaping. They can monitor the locations of the criminals on their GPS systems, while the criminals don't know where the cops are.
* In Mafia Work and Team Mafia Work, you play as one of Kenny Petrovic's mafia henchmen. You must complete hits ordered by the boss (via your cellphone) before your rivals are able to.
* The map used in multiplayer is the same map that is used for single player.
* A single-player mission called "Hangman's NOOSE" features co-op. You and your friends will be able to escort a mobster, while being pursused by a SWAT team.
OMG!! So many game modes. And the whole map is open! 3 of your friends can get in cars and helicopters! Looks like this will have an epic 100 hour single player and a huge multiplayer mode aswell. Cant wait!

Looks better and better.... what would be cool is if you can have a non identification game mode, where you could not tell who was AI or a player... :applaud:

Exactly. I hope this can be changed by the user. Also I hope there is no auto-aim as this would make it far too easy. Im sure there will be options to remove it though.

The final Grand Theft Auto IV trailer before game release, "Good Lord, What Are You Doing?" AKA "Everyone's a Rat", will debut here in the VIDEOS section on 3.27.08.

Id like to see Gang Wars and missions like that for Online mode... a bit like creating your own Clan and stealing other clans cars, money etc...

Had loads of probs with FIFA 08 on the PS3, could never get games etc.
Though looking back, thats prob a FIFA fault, I've had no problems with Rockband, Minna 5 or Warhawk...
Skate was a bit dodgy too... guess its just EA!

I think everyones just going to buy the game on the console their friends have it on --- makes the most sense
And I think thats Sony's biggest stumbling block - getting groups of friends to move to or buy the ps3 along side the 360

I'd love to but the last 360 i had gave me the 3 red lights - they replaced it and 2 days later that 3 red lighted on me - -- -- - id been having problems though from launch - i had 5 360's in total since then... and after talking it over with the store manager they offered me a ps3 as a replacement with the 2 game + 3 blue ray movies bundle (for my broken 360 with 5 games and 2 pads) so i snapped it up.
