GTA IV - SPOILER THREAD!!

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

It may not need one but its nice to get a look at it before its released

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

It would be nice but I knew Rockstar wouldn't release one; it keeps people in suspense for even longer.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

Not to mention demos detract from time spent developing, I'd rather they get the game finished ASAP then I can buy it and wait for the patch and DLC :)

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I have never been majorly excited about a GTA game (I got bored with San Andreas & Vice City quite quickly) but I am about this. I think it's because it looks more realistic than ever before; the guy you play as seems a cool character and it's set in NEW YORK which is, in my opinion, the best and most vibrant city in the world.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I enjoyed Vice City, and "completed" it. San Andreas just bored the pants off of me, really can't stand all that "gangsta" nonsense.

This is looking really good to me, the more serious tone and enhanced gameplay (proper shooting/combat, proper police presence, etc), make it a more mature GTA.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I enjoyed Vice City too. It was the best GTA serie for me. But San Andreas is not good for me because that game includes such a absurd things and these things suspend player from the game story. I hope GTA IV will have an effective story and some reality.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I'm the same as Stef, GTA 3 is the best (that is the first GTA in 3D right? Because that was amazing.)

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I got bored of GTA3, just thought everything was a bit drab and grey and NY's grid layout for the city isn't the best option for a videogame imo. Especially back then with the limited graphics. The new one probably wont have that problem.

Vice City was the only one that I enjoyed enough to play to the end. Was probably the soundtrack, colours, city layout that kept me interested.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I've always hated the gangsta lifestyle, music, etc. But I adored it in San Andreas. The setting and storyline were perfect.

Vice City gets boring very easy, and GTAIII is too short nowadays.

I had my doubts about using an NYC-inspired (well, copied this time round) city again, and using a Russian guy as the protagonist, but I'm really, really looking forward to this.

April can't get here quick enough.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

GTA games have never had demos.

Thats not true, I remember a demo of the first one on PS on a disk from the official Playstation Magazine.:-pp I think you got about 8 minutes on it.

I am so dying to get this. I've been waiting for the next proper installment since GTA3 on PS2. Don't get me wrong, I adored VC and SA, and the spin offs on PSP, but this will be amazing. I should pre-order it.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I liked Vice City more because it was set in the 80s and like DJ said, the environments were more interesting.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

Absolutely Loved Vice City , i actually downloaded the Music and have it on my computer...great storyline its weird San Andreas is probably a better game but i just wasn't into as much

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I was exactly the same YoungGun, absolutely LOVED Vice City, as everyone says, the music was superb, it really was! I rented San Andreas and played it for about 2 days and got bored of it. I just never ever got into it, it was weird.

Really looking forward to GTA4 now though :)). Do we have any news on the soundtrack? I heard that some people moaning on the phone will be played on the radio as phone ins sometimes.

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I've loved every GTA since the first one, including San Andreas, unfortunately I didn't complete it because my save corrupted (damn PS2) and I didn't fancy doing the whole lot again, but I was near the end, doing the "Vegas" missions......

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I rented San Andreas from Choices under a false name and never took it back. I'm naughty. 8-[

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I tried playing San Andreas again but i didnt even do the first Bike Mission

GTAs aint good for story/mission replay value, but is good for driving around like a lunatic and shooting people in the face any time you want

Re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I liked Vice Cityi a lot, but San Andreas was just huge. The problem it had was that the best was towards the end, so you had to put some effort at the beggining to find later on how the game spanned through all the territory. The ending with the casinos, deserts, planes, rocket-flying, FBI, even a mission in Liberty city... and characters like that crazy spanish girl phoning you all the time to insult you... that was so inmense, so good... Maybe if they had put all that good stuff at the beggining most of the people would have enjoyed the game a lot more.

That does sound good!

I got bored really quickly with it - I hate all that going to the Gym and eating shit. SOOO boring!!

I hardley completed any of it.

Vice city I loved - I didn't complete it as I never do. I do about half of it then get bored and go round killing people and trying to outrun the police.

I loved going on the lighthouse and snipering people that was fun :DD
