Fair enough, man. After all, no one should feel disappointed with a 300 pound console. Fortunatelly for me, I didn't experience any dodgy framerate problem yet (except just once with Assassin's Creed, when I quit the game and loaded back and it went back to normal). So I still think my hard earned cash was well spent.

Concerning this extra content, most likely it will consist in additional items and stuff like these... I can't see them puting for download any additional characters or dialogues for a possible extension in the storyline... It could take huge downloads.

These videos are really unnecessary. In game videos for next-gen consoles would be much better.

Watched G4 tonight and they talked about how they had previewed GTA4.

They weren't allowed to talk about everything they had seen but they sounded absolutely impressed with the game.

They said the city is almost as big as San andreas with its depth it is really like a metropolis simply huge.
You can go on most of the rooftops to snipe etc.
You really need to take your time and plan missions no more GTA run and gun.
They said the Combat looks and plays like nothing you have seen before in a GTA game.
The animations are really great you can tell if the character is stepping on or off curb for example it is so detailed and it is so natural.

They couldn't wait to play it sounds really good.

So there wil be downloadable content for both. But the 360 will have two extra missions.

Thats sounds nice :)

By the way - I thin kit sounds and looks pretty Fantastic - I can't wait for it!!

@ rentboy, to continue this sub discussion. The difference with hd-dvd with M$ and bluray with ps3 is consumer choice. The hd-dvd player is a consumer choice and kept the console "cheap" while sony forced a format on the consumer that wasnt guaranteed to win. Its a pretty well known fact that M$ couldnt care less which format wins and is more about continuing the "war" as their main goal is digital distribution to by-pass both formats. And now with bluray looking the likely winner M$ has no problem with releasing a blu-ray player. Fortunately for sony/ps3 buyers the risk they were forced to take has paid off.

Totally agree with you mate. Even though I am not a huge GTA fan I have always bought it because they have all been quality games and worth every penny (and I always go back to them because of the replay value, even if it's just to drive around killing people.) Noone can deny that Rockstar are brilliant at what they do.

Shaping up really well indeed, those 4 latest videos really impressed me, gonna be a long wait until April :)

As for buying a 360 over a PS3, I have zero interest in Bluray or HDDVD, I buy a gaming conosle to play games and judge the console purely on what games it has to offer me and how well it plays them, IMO the 360 is a long way ahead of the PS3 in terms of gaming and that's why we haven't bought a PS3 yet, when it has some exclusive stuff we want to play we'll buy one :)

No i get to where enter your DOB then it just loads a picture of Liberty City and you cant do anything on it.

GTA IV's PS3 version to have multiplayer support after all

During the latest Major Nelson podcast featured on the Xbox Live website, Microsoft's Vice President of Interactive Entertainment Don Mattrick mentioned that the multiplayer elements of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PS3) might possibly be an Xbox 360 exclusive.

While discussing the details for the upcoming title's Xbox 360 version, he let slip a subtle comment which may lead many to believe that the game's multiplayer support will be an exclusive feature on Microsoft's next-gen console. He was quoted saying:



It's an amazing piece of software, and I'm really excited with its downloadable content and online multiplayer support - again, that's something that's unique to 360. We think consumers are going to love that, and it's going to create what I would describe, again, as the premium experience on our platform.


However, it was confirmed that this rather confusing statement was merely an honest mix-up on Mattrick's part. Rockstar made a follow up statement to CVG saying that "both versions of Grand Theft Auto IV will have an online multiplayer component".

PS3 players should breathe a sigh of relief now and be content with the fact that all the major features will still make it on both versions of the game. The only real difference between the two consoles would be the episodic downloadable content which was confirmed to be an Xbox 360 exclusive.

In any case, everyone should be expecting Grand Theft Auto IVto hit stores this April 29. In the meantime, make sure to keep coming back for more updates from the game as we get them.

@ Thomas,

I could already tell from the original comment that the ps3 had multiplayer aswell. Never doubted that, Im just wondering what the 360 "extra's" are going to be.......xtra pair of jeans and jacket for 400ms points?
