Gran Turismo 5

GT5 Scans from French PlayStation Magazine

confirm, deformations, go-kart, 70 differents races, more than 1000 cars, races creator, Ferrari and Red Bull F1, Maserati, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Ferrari in the game, no Porsche and the 3D.

doesn't confirm shit actually, seeing as there's no in-game screenshots of stuff like Go-Karts, Red Bull F1's (the article just states that PD worked with them but that's it), tuning or track editor.

Regarding everything else, we've already known about it since March or so.

I've been thinking about purchasing that Logitech GT driving force steering wheel just for GT5. Is there any one here that owns it ? Is it really good ? Is there a good review of it ? (lol so many questions at once)

G25 and G27 are just too expansive (mainly here in Brazil lol) for those who are not a hardcore player of racing sim games.

sigh...

YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 - Citroen C4 WRC - Toscane (3)

car hits wooden fences -> sparks
invisible walls
invisible walls being hit -> sparks
those doors...
WRC Rally car drifting away at 35 Km/h on simil-concrete like it was on ice

this stuff is embarrassing and painful to watch

...and lol @ the butthurt fanboy removing every single YT comment.

 it's a rally car! The damage isn't that deep it seems (maybe he's playing arcade mode, he clearly can't drive). But it's not too bad. The damage I'm concerned about is the F1 Cars, those need proper damaged effects is we all know how fragile those things are.

For players who drive that badly, why would they want full damage effects on? Wold they make it past the fourth turn, doubt it. I wouldn't judge the damage from that video.

The game looks crazy! In some of the videos above it just DOESN'T Look like a game!it looks like a real car, my eyes!

Damage was non-existant on Pro-Physics settings as well.

did anyone try to smash their car 90 degrees into a wall and see what was up with the chassis deformation?

All I see on the frontpage are bumpers slightly off their place as per usual.

the damage was really dialled back i rammed a lambo full pelt into a wall and didnt really see much apart from sparks and it span..

Damage is vital to me on all forms of racing Klash, I hate scraping and bouncing around tracks...

TBH this is a game killer for me, if the damage is purely superficial I'll look elsewhere...

Thing is i've haven't never seen a racing game in which damage really impressed me and i feel is realistic, apart from Forza maybe. A lot of the sims these very keep sim racers talk about such as rfactor. Car actually go though other cars as if thy are ghost's!

Yet they still have the cheek to call Gran Turismo an arcade game :CONFUSE:

I hate races where people hit you for no reason and the bounce effect as you say. As i love Forumla 1, i like to race neat and tidy without hitting anyone, same with Forza etc.. when i play the game :)

Been in 3 biggies myself (only one as the driver and not my fault, 5k's worth of damage though) and seen a few on the roads as I drive quite a bit, also used to go to Motor-sport events a lot as an ex's Dad's company sponsored a team...
:BRMM:

Just wanted to see what people use to gauge realistic damage 'coz surely movies is no way to measure realism.

Except maybe 'The Best of Crash Test Dummies'.

How is GT5 ever going to live up to expectations, considering how long it has been in development and the amount of racing games that have been released in that time? It's almost an impossible task in my opinion.

The doors flinging open all of the time look silly. They should do it properly or not at all IMO.

The doors flying open and staying like that makes it look more like GTA than GT.

Anyone ordering the Signature Edition then? 150 quid, still think I would rather have it than Kinect though.

bad collison - Xfire Video

 it's a rally car!

It's a rally car driving on a tarmac road, that looks more like it's driving across a frozen lake.

It's a terrible video. My worst fear is that GT5 is just a graphical masterpiece with very little depth in terms of simulation and realism. That video does nothing to convince me otherwise.

Collectors edition for me, putting the rest of my efforts towards a G25 and stand.
