[General Discussion] What have you been playing this week?

Took the Irishman's advice @Emroth and played a bit if Hellblade.
God damn what a game!
Brilliant tip Marty.

Flight sim ,oh boy...
And I'm just about to DL Metro Exodus ,really looking fw to playing that again.

What will I be playing next week?
Rhetorical question I guess...
GTA San Andreas and the Anniversary edition of Skyrim ,starting from scratch!
Can't wait.

Brilliant tip Marty.
Cheers, pal.
I cant give you any new ones as im stuck on Fifa22. Dont know how long it will take, but Im starting to miss the other games a bit now, especially Skyrim with Mods and State of Decay.
There's Forza 5 out now as well, but im trying to squeeze that Fifa before they break it with patches.

I've give FIFA a pass for now ,I know it's pretty damn good ,but for my well being I'm holding off on it.
But I'll be hunting you down for some games online later on ,so be prepared:)

Yeah Skyrim is something I look fw to a lot.
You know they've added survival mode as an option in this one?
A bunch of other community mods have been added to.
Pretty sweet!
And hearing that "ah shit here we go again" on GTA San Andreas will be epic for me ,loved that game.

Hook me up if you wanna play some State of decay some day ,love that game.
Have a nice on buddy

They did, but I did an indepth research on the subject (you know how I like survival games) and couple of survival mods combined will provide much better experience.
Vanilla survival mode is fairly shallow in comparison to community mods.
So I'd recommend searching Skyrim Survival Mods Xbox, watching few clips, picking a list of mods, adding to it some Immersion and Combat mods on top and you're in for a proper ride.
If you dont want to spend some time looking for mods to pick - I can always send you a list of all mods that I have.

I play heavily Survival Focused Mode, with Immersive World, overhauled Combat and graphics, topped up by "Alternative Life", so you can pick your story and starting point, without being bound to The Chosen One from the get go.

Sounds great ,yeah I have your extensive list on mods ,deffo go for them when rebooting it.

I wish I could stomach the oblivion graphics ,would like to play that as well.

My dream game would probably be a great open world survival with the hunting experience and animal AI of Call of the wild.
Lost many hours in that game ,a combo with a good survival engine and i wouldn't play anything else

How is it? I've been trying to get into RTS games as I used to really enjoy them, haven't really been into one since Company of heroes 1.

Been Thinking the last days about giving this a try or halo wars 2 or homeworld deserts kharhak all which I own/gamepass
I like it very much. It have 8 nations but most likely they are all different to play. And it have nice graphics with nice gameplay and sounds.
And in the menu there is a part "Mods" but actually it is greyed out. So hopefully it means mods will come. But I don't know what does it mean exactly. Only maps or completely game chaneging mods?

But I don't know if its for everybodys taste. If you played one of the former Age of Empire games you will also like it. So if you have gamepass for windows or ultimate, you can try it without spent any cent. I would. Have fun mate.

Yea, CoH1 was also a nice game and is one of the best RTS so far.

Hell Let Loose - I defo need much more time on it.

Its tough. Tough and rough on the edges.
Initially I couldnt even get into the game. I was getting Network Error.
Deleted the game and downloaded again. 22GB. An hour wasted. Network Error again.
Read a bit about it and did a hard restart of the console. Finally - I was in.

Without destructive environment - this is how Battlefield should be.
Sometimes I felt like participating in Saving Private Ryan.
Was sitting in some trench, seeing enemies slowly sneaking by the field.
Started shooting - they started falling.
No bullshit. No zig zagging, no kangaroo jumping, no bullet spraying. No bullet sponges. They didnt even know where I was shooting from, as the game doesnt give you any indication. It doesnt even confirm if you killed someone.

It feels really realistic. Realistic and scary at times.

Maybe im too old and too slow to play arcade shooters anymore, but they never really interested me in the past either.

Original Operation Flashpoint was the game I loved.

This is raw. You have to be slow and careful. And you need to work as a group.

Which brings me to my last point. All the squads were locked. I had to create my own and play solo. So I didnt get the proper experience.
The good thing is - you can still hear orders from other officers and commanders, so I still tried to work as a team.
But the map is so big and in-game map is so confusing that I didnt even know where I was.

But its definetely something fresh on consoles and Im looking forward to testing it more.

I'm still thinking of getting it, I really like the idea but unless you are on a good squad it's hard.

I'd go even further - unless you have a good, organised army and commander - its hard.

But it doesnt take much joy away.
My army was quite bad, commander kept shouting and arguing with people.
But you can still have a lot of fun with it due to its slow..ish pace. You can still see/hear/feel the battle around you, find a good spot, or try to flank.
This game is not about kills, but the most kills I got was when I got lost and accidentally flanked the enemy. My main army was head to head with them and I was picking them up from the side.

Its a hard game in general, but I'd say its less frustrating than recent Battlefields, where players were just jumping around spraying bullets from the hip.

I also thought this was a game for "pros" where you can never play solo or without a mic. But we're forgetting that the rest of the community is just like us. You'll find good/organised squads, but mostly its headless chickens. Those who prefer arcade COD style of shooters are gone by now. Its only people like us who are left.

So with a mic and group of friends - its definitely a fantastic game. But even without its not impossible to have fun.

@Emroth my Team17id is "PRO_TOO#0120"... feel free to add me! :)
edit: instructions in german language at Hürtgenwald awaiting you! thats gonna be so epic for you mate! ANTRETEN KAMERAD, und ausrüsten!!! (get ready and gear up, comrad)

Forza Horizon 5

Fist time I play these games (FH) and I'm not sure if I totally enjoy this game or if I'm totally anoyed...

But this is no problem I only payed 1 € for this (XBOX Game Pass PC), yea will see what the future brings.

I've read somewhere that this game is "Uncharted in space", which really interests me, since I love the Uncharted games.
I go into it in the dedicated thread and yes, the Uncharted vibe is there. In today's endless open world games it can be refreshing to play something more linear and story driven.

I just read, and will definitely be playing this soon then (a couple of other short games ahead in the queue).
A short, story-driven, linear game is pretty much right up my alley--I find open-world games a chore that, more often than not, overstay their welcome by a wide margin.

Loads of Metro Exodus ,some GTA San Andreas and I'm preparing for a long run with Skyrim.

Ps if you've got the time ,go back to the first 4-5 pages of this thread and read up on what people played back in -07 ,a fun read I assure you.

That's what i will play this week. Just have done the first level (there's two paths, 4 difficulty levels)
That new GNG feels so authentic and fun.

Just learned that the game have been released today, by searching Maldita Castilla vids. there's a 9 euros reduction until the 20/11 on PS, probably on Steam i don't know.
Run if you're a fan like me.

I call my Irish specialist in BF 2042 Marty! 😊

Been playing 2042 all day every day. Some kick off matches in FIFA22 in between... but BF is taking all my focus now.
Can’t wait for the weekend when the day one patch hits and new players arrive on the battlefield. :)
We are a chat group of 10 members now. A video game dream come true would be 2 squads a 4 soldiers, all in chat, rocking the maps! 😍👏

Got Jedi: Fallen Order through EA Play and have been playing that a bit. Not a fan of the Dark Souls model, but maybe this will convert me. Hope it's not quite as hard though.

F1 2020 (wanted to get 2021 but read reviews that claim 2020 has better physics/mechanics etc)
The MyTeam mode really scratches the Master League itch when you need a break from football. Enjoying it a lot.
Not even a formula 1 fan lol, still fun though.
Having played both within 3 days, I would say 21 is better, maybe they fixed it with patches. There's a much higher "limit" you can drive on, pretty much how cars sometimes slide around, something that was missing in 2020. Inertia is noticable and damage model is better. It's 80% off for people who have 2020 on steam right now.

Thanks for the good info. Just picked up a 21 for 80% off, and a Deluxe upgrade pack for 50% off.
Me such a fool who can't give up on Senna and Shumacher, so every time I have to buy a more expensive edition.
19 Legends edition, 20 Shumacher edition, and now Deluxe editon...
I hate me doing so, but just can't help...

F1 2021 is a slightly better game, the cars a little bit more difficult to drive than they were in 2020.
But if you own F1 2020 and are on the fence about it - Don't buy F1 2021.
The damage model is slightly better, the cars are slightly harder to drive.
The AI though is still dog sheet and like playing bumper cars at every opportunity - The AI is also stupidly quick round some corners where it is near impossible to be that quick and make up for it by being a snail in other sections.

Personally I really like the F1 games, it is just a shame that the annoying bugs in the game remain year after year, which is clearly done to game engine issues.

To me, I'm kind of impressed with the improved(I think it deserves more than "slightly") graphics and the well optimised performance.
Physics: OK.
AI: stupid but seems like getting slightly better year by year.
Gameplay: Pretty fun and enjoyable.
I'd like to give it 8/10 overall.
BTW, anyone knows where all the classic F1 cars have gone away? A license matter or something else?

The classic cars were removed from F1 2021 as well as the short tracks, as I believe they blamed Covid and didn't have time to add them to the game.
