Formula1

I didn't expect much from this race but it proved me wrong, great race.

Lewis Hamilton

That was Maldonado's fault.

Lewis and the pit crew managed to throw away as many points as possible before that happened though.

Alonso was/is magnificent.

Jumped for joy when Vettel slowed, I can't stand him and especially when we just walks away like he was doing. Interesting how the race came to life once he was out.

Finally, amazing to see Schumi on the podium again, been waiting for it ever since he came back.

Final race starts in less than two hours, hopefully Seb will do it again. But I am just waiting for Ferrari to play another dirty trick as last week in Austin. One scenario might be to sacrifice Felipe for Fernando by instructing him to drive into the Red Bull. When everything goes fine I think Seb is going to win, Interlagos is one of the more technical than high speed courses and these fit more to the RB.

not that I don't like Vettel or RBR (in fact I'm fan of both) but tbh I'd love to see another Interlagos GP resulting in a similar way to the last race of the 2007 season. so let's see! :)

Man, I think you are going too far. I don't like Alonso and Ferrari and I am rooting for Sebastian as well but honestly don't believe Ferrari will try such a dirty strategy.

Interlagos is one of my favourite tracks, hopefully we'll witness an intense race. Oh, and it might rain!

EDIT: it's already raining!

What a race! This was the most intense race I ever saw, fantastic performance of all the guys. Very happy to see Seb made it, but sad to see Hulk struggling with the weather, he could've won the whole race. Nevertheless, RB showed them all again who's the best. I am already looking forward to the next season and have a spark of hope we don't see these strange looking cars again.

Greatest season since a long time!

Great season although I'm disappointed to see Adrian Newey, oops, I mean Vettel win again. Not a fan of the overrated kid at all. Would love to see Alonso or Button, win again next year. Hopefully Ferrari and McLaren engineers get their acts together.

not his fault if the other constructors can't keep up with his team's works. he is surely a lucky guy (might be the luckiest f1 driver I've ever seen) but is also a brilliant driver. give him some props man, it was a title-threatening accident in the first lap, yet the guy drove his way to getting it under tough conditions with a very very huge pressure on him. but still, if you ask me, the best driver of this season was Raikkonen. :D

The fact Alonso got anywhere near winning the title was a credit to him in my opinion, and I'm not a fan of his by any means.

Second that. I really think he is the best driver in F1.

For McLaren it was 2005 all over again. They had until the Belgium GP the best car in the grid however lots of mechanical problems put them away.

On a side note, I'm very disappointed with my Mercedes team. Nico finally won a race for the silver arrows but overall performances were very poor this season. God help Lewis!

I think Alonso showed he is the best driver. If it weren't because he was put out of the race twice this season by other drivers he would have been the winner for sure. Red Bull has by large the best car, but Ferrari has the best driver, and that delivered us one of the best F1 seasons.

Another thing I dislike is how both Toro Rosso, both Renault and Schumi always let Vettel pass without any competition. It's a bit of a fraud that up to 5 cars don't even try to compete with Vettel. At Interlahos it was shocking to see how all of them let him pass. Then he found Kobayashi and that was an electrifying duel, and Vettel finally advanced him brilliantly. I think Vettel is a great driver and commits very few mistakes, but he gets it easier than the rest when he has to recover positions. The Toro Rosso even let themselves advance under yellow flags, come on!

All in all, Interñagos was a great race and if you win the championship it's always deserved.

Good post drekkard, although I have to say that Alonso had much more advantages during the season with Massa helping him than Vettel. I don't think there were many cases where he got help by one of the drivers you mentioned and even at Interlagos no one let him pass on purpose(except for Webber), he was simply faster than the Toro Rosso, the Renault(aka Kimi) and Schumi. Alsono instead got help multiple times by Massa with the most obvious taking place at the grid in Austin.

New season starts tomorrow (February 5th) with 4 days of testing at Jerez.

Here are 8 cars that have been presented to date in order they were presented:

Tomorrow Caterham and Marussia will present their cars while Williams will present theirs on February 19th. That means that they will run those first tests with last years car

the purple on the red bull looks shit,
and im glad there's no chelsea logo on the sauber car this year..

I kinda like the purple on the RB car tbh. Well, not that much of a difference regarding last year, you barely notice the colour change on TV.

Anyway, the silver arrows are still the most beautiful Formula One cars on the grid. :P

Williams haven't presented new car yet(they will do that in two weeks), but they have presented slightly changed livery on last years car:

Can't help myself, but I don't like this bulky and stiff nose many of the cars, especially the Williams and the Ferrari have. Most beautiful car on the grid this year is the Sauber imo.

For the times: Don't mind them too much right now, there are still many things to do and times will change from circuit to circuit, there's too much hype around these test days if you ask me.

I agree with you on noses. Those high and wide noses aren't really a beauty to look at, but they are here with a good reason: to get as much air as possible under the car for diffuser to work with. In that way they get more downforce at the back of the car which improves traction, high speed corner stability and braking stability.

As for times: they don't mean a thing at this stage of a season. But when tests are timed it is good to have them to at least try and guess where everyone is.
