Barcelona, day 4:

As for times: they don't mean a thing at this stage of a season. But when tests are timed it is good to have them to at least try and guess where everyone is.[/img]

Don't know, take a look at the Red Bull and the last two days, I don't think, they'll be that far behind the lead during the season.

And what's with the two Williams? Just 36 laps and no time?

What's that "Time" column standing for? The whole test time over all tests or just the two days at Barcelona?

Btw: Great to see Adrian back at Force India, he's such a sympathetic guy and a good driver (he'll be faster than Di Resta I think), hope the Force India will be competitive again this season.

na mate, its a disgrace that adrian sutil is back, he fucking stabbed someone in the neck, he is a lucky cunt and should be in prison.

I still have my doubt about this story and I believe it was an accident. If it would've been a proposed attack, Force India would have fired him instantly and not after the season. And btw: He didn't stab Eric Lux, he cut him (accidently according to Sutil) in the neck, because the champagne glass he held broke.

"time" shows at what time of day driver posted his best lap

As for Sutil, I hoped for Bianchi to get that seat. I don't like what Sutil did, but yet he is fast and reliable driver and it will be good for Force India.

On the other hand, Luiz Razia lost his place in Marussia as his sponsors haven't paid what they were obliged to, so Marussia appointed Jules Bianchi as their 2nd race driver.

Also, Sky reports that it might be in hope that it will be easier for them to negotiate engine deal with Ferrari from 2014 onwards as Cosworth isn't developing their V6 turbo and Bianchi is member of Ferrari's young drivers academy

na i don't think you can cut someone in the neck on accident, with a glass that sutil broke himself, would lux complain about it if it was an accident? i agree though he'l definitely be faster than di resta..

bianchi got his drive in the end though, but with a shitter car

mcLaren's are way off the pace, i think this season will be like 2011 vettel, hope it aint though.

Times in Q1. This is not actual order for top 16, as their order is not decided in Q1.

Q2 and Q3 will be held at 11AM Melbourne time (1AM here in Croatia in GMT+1). It was decided to move Q2 and Q3 sessions on Sunday morning because of rain, wind and because of night

I'm surprised to see McLaren that far. 3s for Vettel is huge gap. Still early but I see an hierarchy: Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari toe-to-toe (maybe Mercedes a little bit faster) and then Lotus. McLaren way off the pace atm. Yet, long way to go and I'm looking forward to the race. :)

Funny thing is: McLaren looked great on first test at Jerez and everyone is scratching their heads about where is that speed now. And than, here is a quote from interview with Whitmarsh, McLaren team principal:
It was a part fitted incorrectly which caused us to run the car unrealistically low, that happened to play to the strengths of the car,” Whitmarsh confirmed. “It wouldn’t work on a bumpy circuit like this. That’s why the car at the moment is too peaky in its performance, and that’s something we’ve got to resolve. It was a set-up which on many tracks was not realistic.

So, they were fast because someone made a mistake when they were putting the car together.

Surprising finish to me, didn't expect Kimi to be that fast at the beginning of the season, well deserved win, though. And kudos to Sutil for his race, too sad his tyres collapsed in the last few laps, he could've reached more today.

On top it is quite similar to what we had in Australia. At the bottom, Bianchi is again being brilliant as he was faster than Bottas in Williams

Let's see how long Vettel is able to keep the Ferraris behind him, I have some doubts about the RB this year. And I guess we'll see Kimi in the top three again, if he manages to plan the race as good as Melbourne last week.

Edit: Kimi was penalised to start from 10 after a clash with Rosberg , so Jenson, Adrian and Perez are all moving one place forward.

Positive surprise of the weekend: The Mercs.
Negative surprise of the weekend: Force India and their completely messed-up pit stops.
Funniest moment: Lewis forgetting where he has to stop THIS YEAR.

In light of today's race, I think two key areas where Mercedes need to improve on in order to compete for wins are fuel efficiency and tyres efficiency.

I agree. Deal was that the one who is in front after last pit stop will take the win and team has twice told Webber that Vettel will not attack him. And yet, he did that and later said that he did that by mistake
