Formula1

The best team/driver won in the end, congrats all round.

That Abu Dhabi location/track is spectacular, its been a good season overall, good coverage on the BBC too. Hopefully next season will be in HD and DD.

The location of the track spectacular yeah, but the track itself is god awful.

Another uninspiring, impossible to pass on Tilke nightmare.

Such a contrast to Sao Paolo.

Big changes afoot in F1, Jenson and Lewis could be on the same team as Mercedes takes over Brawn GP.

Will be interesting, Last time they had 2 top drivers it didn't end well. Surely the World Champion won't want to play 2nd fiddle?

"Michael Schumacher has been in early talks with Mercedes GP over a possible comeback to Formula One next season, according to reports in the British press.

The seven-time World Champion was set for a brief return with Ferrari during this year's Championship before a neck injury put paid to his plans. But that doesn't mean he's out for good.

Schumacher still works for Ferrari, but Brawn's takeover by German car giants Mercedes could persuade him to return in a car other than his former scarlet Ferrari".

Could Ross Brawn temp him back, surely he's a Ferrari boy now...

oh my.

Shaping up to be a good season.

I thought Mercedes were gonna go after heidfield to add some experience to the youth of Rosberg. They probably will want Vettel eventually, but maybe Shumacher will be the better option for the sport as a whole than going for Heidfeld, who is really just a steady eddy.

So we're gonna potentially have an English manufacturer with all english drivers, and German manufacturer with all German. Now for Ferrari to follow, oh wait, not too many good Italian drivers around at the moment ;)

I think the Button/Hamilton dynamic will be interesting. McClaren will now be favourites for the constructors title. Lewis is maturing nicely but I can see Button giving him a good race in the points table, even if Hamilton wins more races/acheives more poles. Seeing the two in the same car will be quite something. Hamilton is quicker but he also takes more risks, destroys his tires, whilst Button is consistent and rarely makes silly mistakes unless forced into them, but he doesnt have explosive pace.

Its a point to be made though, is F1 going to head down this nationalistic route. We already know that Santander's switch to Ferrari was linked with Alonso's move

Goodbye Renault?...

Renault is once again understood to be questioning its Formula One future amid speculation that Prodrive is to acquire the French manufacturer's team.

Last month, Renault held a board meeting to discuss its continued presence in the sport after a torrid season which brought poor results on the track and also unwelcome publicity in the form of the so-called 'Crashgate' scandal.

The meeting was held just hours after Toyota confirmed that it was pulling out of F1 with immediate effect, with company CEO Carlos Ghosn later insisting a decision would be made before the end of the year.

More recently, Ghosn has used an interview to question Renault's involvement in F1 at a time when three manufacturers - Honda, BMW and Toyota - have pulled out of the sport in the last 12 months.

The situation has now given rise to talk of a takeover of the Oxfordshire-based team by Prodrive, albeit with Renault still supplying engines until the end of the 2012 season.

F1 is on a rocky road...

British GP saved by new deal
Silverstone will host the British GP from 2010 after agreeing a new deal with Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone.

Silverstone Circuits Limited confirmed on Monday that a 17-year contract to stage the oldest race in the F1 calendar had now been agreed.
Silverstone stepped in after Donington Park's failed to secure the financial backing required to host the race.

Goodbye Donington, shame I think it would have made for great racing, Silverstone is too flat and dull for me...

So much for the munchkin Ecclescake and the "Silverstone will never host another F1 race", shove a few million in his hand and you could have an F1 race in an ASDA car-park...
