Formula1

Where did you see this about a counter sue?

Either way, Formula 1 is my favourite sport - I do love me some drama.

Perfect drive from Vettel at the weekend.

Yea congrats to him, Lewis must have been pissed after that first corner.

Looks like the end of Sebastien Bourdais...

Toro Rosso have confirmed that Sebastien Bourdais has left the team, with Jaime Alguersuari poised to become the youngest driver in Formula One history.

Frenchman Bourdais was given his F1 chance after winning four successive ChampCar titles in the United States from 2004 to 2007.

Nelson Piquet Jnr, is on his last life too...

Following the German GP, yet another race without a single World Championship point, rumours of Piquet's pending axing gained momentum - and team boss Flavio Briatore did nothing to silence them.

Asked earlier this week whether the 23-year-old would retain his race-seat for the Hungarian GP, Briatore told Autosport: "I don't know. Maybe I am in the car myself..."

The team, though, has now confirmed that Piquet will race in Budapest, where he hopes Renault's new upgrades will assist him in netting his first points of the campaign.

Hope Massa is ok, weird few days for motor racing two people hit by flying bit's of cars, such sad news about Henry Surtees...

Not looking too good for Massa. Soon as I saw the car in the barriers, something didnt look 'right'. He was slumped forward (ok, we know he was unconscious now) and I never like it when they cover the recovery of the body in a sheet.

Fact he is now having emergency surgery, in intensive care and labelled as 'stable' is a bit worrying.

Fuck getting hit like that though, if he does pull through ok, then he can consider himself MASSIVELY lucky as I'm sure a few inches either way the debris would have smashed through his visor, or hit him in the neck - either surely killing him instantly??

"Felipe was conscious at the arrival at the hospital and his general conditions remain stable.

"Following a complete medical examination it emerged that he had suffered a cut on his forehead, a bone damage of his skull and a brain concussion.

"These conditions need to be operated on after which he will remain under observation in intensive care."

The 28-year-old was struck by a piece of debris deposited by Rubens Barrichello's Brawn GP as he had earlier complained of something breaking at the back of his car.

Replays showed a part of the car coming off the Brawn and bouncing along the same area of the Hungaroring track where the drama began for Massa.

Massa later caught the debris, on one of his hot laps, which then bounced up, striking his helmet and knocking him unconscious.

Massa's feet must have relaxed at that point, one on the throttle as on-screen graphics showed it remained open, the other on the brake as there were skid marks across the considerable run-off area before he ploughed nose first into a tyre barrier.

It does not sound good, it was hard enough to smash the helmet:SHOCK:...

Very lucky but thank god he will be ok. i imagine his out for the rest of the season

Hopefully he'll make a full recovery, weird end to qualifying when FOM lost the plot.

Lot's of talk of a need to do something to stop this happening but without putting drivers in a fighter jet cockpit what else can they do?
Tether every item over a certain mass on the car?

Your doing 200MPH in an open car, it's dangerous full stop, but how many races have there been and how many incidents...
I hope we don't see a knee jerk reaction to two terrible but freak accidents...

Yeah, sometimes people forget that, first of all, being a motor racer will always be risky no matter what. It's in the essence of the sport and the drivers all know it. Things like that happen by chance and although we saw 2 in a row, it is extremely unlikely.

Felipe's situation is still concerning, not only the extent of his recovery, but the head of the Hospital he's in said his life is still in danger. He seems to be making progress gradually though.

Let us hope he can get out of this one and make a full recovery.

If Hamilton is gonna start being trully competitve again, I want Brawn to sort out Button's so we can finally get our two Brit drivers competing for wins.
