Formula1

I hope no! I want a tough battle all over the season and not that dominance by Brawn. Ferrari and McLaren should improve to give more emotion and enthusiasm to all the fans (yes, because F1 is not F1 without Ferrari and McLaren).

not forgetting Williams, they've been around a fair few years now as well and their car looks good again this year.

The shoot out this morning was great to watch.

Eventful race, nice to see a ....... one two.

26 cars for next season...

Bernie Ecclestone has revealed there will be three new teams joining Formula 1 next season.

The F1 supremo said 26 cars will be on the starting grid for the 2010 campaign and that a medals-system will determine the championship.

"We'll have 26 cars on the grid next year - we've got a lot of people confirmed," said Ecclestone.

Interesting, I wonder what car manufacturers they'll be using.

The race was a bit boring today, also that Brawn GP car is ugly!

Ferrari could be F'ing off...

Ferrari have confirmed their intention to pull out of Formula One from next season as the battle over the FIA's proposed new rules escalates.

In a short statement on the team's website, the sport's most famous team said they will not be on the grid in 2010.

"We confirm our opposition to the new technical regulations adopted by the FIA and do not intend entering our cars in the 2010 F1 Championship," the statement read.

I agree with their reasons, effectively creating a two tier championship due to the cap would be a bad and unnecessary move by the FIA.

I can't imagine that the FIA will allow them to walk, all these unnecessary changes need to stop.

It will hurt sponsorship and attendances imo. Ferrari is a big name that gets a lot of coverage. It will be resolved.... Ferrari are looking for a response.

They should back down asap.

I'm still amazed that Max Mosley, a guy caught up in a German speaking sex romp with prostitutes is still in charge.

I mean, goddamn. I'm struggling to think of anyone else who could get away with this, maybe Hugh Hefner but still.

But aye, F1 is now more about the politics. The racing is all just a ruse to get you gripped into the lives of middle aged men and the scandals they get up to. It's like Laguna Beach for adults.

F1 teams drop breakaway bombshell

Formula 1 has been thrown into chaos after eight of its major teams said they are now planning to set up a rival championship for the 2010 season.

The threat by members of the F1 Teams Association (Fota) escalates their row with world motorsport boss Max Mosley over his budget cap proposals.

"The teams have declined to alter their original conditional entries to the 2010 F1 Championship," said the teams. "We've no alternative than to commence preparation for a new championship."

Just heard on SSN, disappointing that its come to this.

I think it could be a good thing.

The breakaway series would have all the big teams in it with history (except Williams) and circuits like Imola, Silverstone, Le Mans, Indianapolis, Montreal etc. could be raced on, rather than having races in places like Malaysia, Bahrain and Turkey which are poorly attended and have no history.

It would be F1, just not called "Formula One" - the current F1 would just have a load of small teams racing with dumbed-down cars because of the budget cap with silly rules like no refuelling with two idiot control-freaks running it.
