Yeah you're right. It depends though on how ingrained the 1v1 and how rigid the 11v11 is at the core of the code for 23.

21 and 22 had loads of great sounding files, but none properly broke out of the 1v1 and gave proper active off-ball awareness. 20 was the similar, although it had less files than we had in the last two years. We could improve it a little in that area, but not enough to make a really big difference. The 11v11 capture will either be a big help, or an additional obstacle I think. Really hoping it's the first one!

An area where I'm confident we can make positive progress in is the way the defender just moves out of the way for an attacker to run around him. In that area, I'm sure we can improve the actual '1v1' battle.

Yes! I found tackles and especially standing tackles improved this year, there's more freedom in the whole movement and the action does not result every time in a foul like it was usually the case in previous games. tbh i'm pretty confident things can be improved

I agree, we’ll definitely be able to improve the game a lot more and the files will make a big difference in general.

Positionally is the big challenge….and just how much we can solve 1v1 is what it will boil down to for me.

Yeah it’s truly a challenge. I focused especially on animations values when developing my mod in fifa 22. Initially, since I didn’t understand how positioning lines worked, the midfield resulted in being too tight and AI too aggressive

Sadly there is currently no way around the EA Anticheat. I hope Live Gameplay Tuning could become modifiable. That's the only hope.

You be pleasantly surprised that someone has got around the anti cheat but its not FET/FMT so doesnt affect modding in that sense (yet?). Things are happening fairly quickly. Ill keep you updated.

Yeah I'm on manual and the goalkeeper's throwing (and short kicking from goal kicks is a nightmare).

For the throwing I hold r2 down and it does a underarm throw , a lot more controlled

How did you go with the animations? Were you happy with what you could do?

Yeah! I edited some playback animations to have slower movements when passing, shooting etc. For me that was a fifa problem, too much frames during movements. It worked out pretty well, at least I achieved something good since you could easily see players move the leg before shooting or passing.

Ahh I'll try that thanks! Anything work for aiming short goal kicks? I pull the angle towards my defenders and he often just taps it straight to an attacker!

 

[FIFER Mods]

Using Aranaktu's FIFA 23 Live Editor (not yet released), to bypass what we need to edit TOC files, meaning full modding is possible. Textures, EBX, legacy and audio edits are working well.

It is possible EA may update the anti-cheat to make this method not work, so we will continue looking into other ways to mod to have a backup plan.

These technically are the gameplay files since they overwrite whatever normal mod you'd make. This is why I am investigating it whilst we wait for FET.

I've noticed on your took there is a option for kits , can we put custom kits on there or will they not work yet ?

Had this a few times even after the supposed update fix , sometimes can take a few times of trying to load game but get it on eventually

This is 100% a stop gap until FIFA Editor use my methods for doing it or use do their own thing. I tested some GP files and it all seems fine. One or two physics files seem to break the game though, so please be careful.

Just want to also say, the method for getting mods to work is a little odd and it turns the AC off. So please be very aware of what you are doing. I can't be held responsible for stupidity of course.

Also make sure that "Use ModData" is enabled in the Editor before running.

I havent tried. I genuinely got it "working" and released. Now watching the Arsenal v Liverpool game.

If you have performance issues and you play WQHD resolution or higher, you can disable MSAA, which is set to auto by default. This option is not available by in-game settings.

Dude, thank you! Game was unplayable for me and stuttering like crazy. Turned MSAA off as per your instructions and now it runs great, even on high detail!

EDIT: While this somewhat fixes offline stuttering, something is messed up with online play, rendering it still barely playable despite glass fibre connection. What a shame.

v23.5 is not working for me, game's not launching anymore (ERROR : still waiting fifa to launch). Don't know if that's a tool related issue but i also had my dxgi.dll damaged and had to repair game files to launch the vanilla game

i am only launching with @paulv2k4 Gameplay Ini V5 but then "use Mod Data" is greyed out. In the log it says : "Launching game: D:\Games\FIFA 23\FIFA23.exe (with Frostbite Mods)" so is the Mod activated or not?
