FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

That could potentially be a good thing.
Create a whole new F2P FUT FIFA.
(Like RGR2/GTA online)
And just update it constantly and let them be happy.
On the side - make proper Fifa Football game focused on other modes. With slightly different gameplay that actually resembles football.
One can dream..
Sadly the first part of that dream will probably come true (game going F2P) but without the second part (a proper game being released alongside).

Look at mobile gaming for an example, that's gone further down this road than console gaming and honestly I'm surprised it's taken this long to see more of those mechanics to find their way across to console.

You almost can't purchase a proper game any more, especially sports/multiplayer games - the vast majority follow the same F2P/P2W model with lootboxes (often with up to 24hrs real life wait times unless you pay), at least 2 in-game currencies (one which you use to enter online matches and "winner takes all"), "battle pass", adverts, lives/energy etc.

Look at something like Golf Clash - decent gameplay ideas, nicely polished visually but crammed with all the predatory mechanics above. There is no proper paid version, or comparable quality paid game from anyone else I know of without these mechanics. Sometimes you see copycat imitations of the most popular games, with slightly less egregious pricing/grinding in an attempt to undercut them, but almost never see a genuine fair/complete product for sale (especially in certain genres).

But that's too much work... Rather spend that money on buzzwords!

@rojofa - yeah, I agree.
Id even be happy if they had paid version of Career Mode DLC, with AI gameplay tweaked at the core to fit offline play

I would happily pay extra too, which I did in FIFA 20 by purchasing the game play patches by Paul2K.
However although this massively improved gameplay, it still didn't fix the bugs with the actual career mode.

EA need to listen to a select group of people and listen to them about how they should improve the career mode and make it a game to appeal to people who want to play the game as a simulation and work there way up.
I wrote a long list a few FIFA's ago about what needs to be done and could probably dig it out as nothing has changed.

But the things they should do off the top of my head now of what annoys me:-
1st there should be two career modes - 1 for average joe and 2nd for people like me who want a hardcore experience.
What I mean by that is realistic transfers - I do it for shits and giggles every year on FIFA, give Exeter a billion pounds and see who will join me and the answer - anyone I want.
So by hardcore it should not allow stupid transfers where, even when you Southampton you can sell all your reserves and somehow be able to end up with pretty much a world class 11, full of players who would never sign for Southampton.

The first thing, I want is proper competition rules - Every year this annoys the hell out of me - SI get it right in 200 nations..
Better youth system, where you can't get a kid and make them 80+ rated by the end of season.

Bring in facilities - on a 1-10 rating - where if you have a 10 rated training facility you players train to an A-C level with a high possibility of getting an A.
This can also be brought into Youth as well, so a 1 rated youth academy can only get a player with a 65 potential max, with a 10 facility being able to produce a player from 70-99 potential but obviously a higher probability of getting a 90+, but again these should be restricted to each academy maybe getting a maximum of 1 or 2 a year.

There is so many things they need to do with the career mode but I know they won't as it doesn't make them any money - They only want to make the FUT crowd happy.

And TBH, I am not sure but like me, I get the feeling this forum is mainly 30-50 year old men, who remember when games were trying to capture realism and make it real and enjoyable.
So we are not FIFA's demographic.

Isn't that the exact same clip I've posted? I'm not seeing CDMs engaging anyone defensively or attempting to get goal-side of them.

All I see are the same vastly-separated (horizontally) lines of defence and midfield, for FIFA's patented 1v1 battles, which doesn't represent real football in the slightest. The clip also shows that the supposed below feature isn't happening:
Seriously, what you're saying here doesn't make any sense. The ball is on the wing, so why should the CDMs stop covering the space and engage the strikers instead?

The 80s called, they want their man-marking back. Modern football has evolved beyond that, you know?

Have you seen these examples I've posted regarding the issue? It shows the problem pretty clearly. It's not strictly the midfielders being passive either.

I'm following this forums for years.
I have bean a PES player until FIFA 15 was introuduced to PC with same graphics as consoles.
All I can say is that this forum is full of frustration and a lot of anger without any real reason. Grow up guys... Looking forward to FIFA 22 next gen on my first console ever.
Just because its not a "real reason" for you doesn't mean its not for others?

Obviously many people will get frustrated if pc port is not at least on par with the consoles. There was no reason to passively attack people by saying "grow up".

How about edit mode?
For us who think playing Vs Piemonte and Roma FC sucks?

And (applies to PES too) free use of stadiums ,if I want Vicarage Road as my stadium for my Swedish team ,i should be able too?
Since I FUCKING PAID FOR IT!

Before anyone replies "it's a licensing issue innit?"

If I'm not completely off here , I can play FUT with Chelseas home kits and Arsenal away kit and having Tottenham stadium as my home ground ,right?

You can't edit the names of the teams on Fifa 22, licences problems
Ok, so here's what we know so far:
Created Club in CM: You can create your club's entire visual identity and update it every season.
Licensed Club: You can't change anything because it's licensed (Just like in PES, this was expected).
Unlicensed Club: No information, however I don't see EA adding an editor, it'll probably be just the club creation in the career.

Yes, that right. More infos are coming before launch, maybe 20 or 22 July.
It's a very bad news, you can changed that only on PC, but for FIFA 22, no nextgen features...

Ok, so here's what we know so far:
Chesnoid is leakier than a dodgy plumber's pipework... Pretty much confirms that the club creator will be lifted from Volta (he says it's "very very very similar" to "another mode", then says it's not like Ultimate Team's creation options)...

I've read from several sources I trust that features (inc. "Create A Club") will be identical on PC as they are on next-gen, all except for the Hypermotion gameplay.

How do people like Chesnoid play this shit for 100s of hours every year, winning every match 8-0 and having a team full of super stars after just half a season? I wonder if they actually like the game ‘off camera’?

(They get free shit and loads of money to play fifa which isn’t a bad gig if you can get it I guess)

*As long as you don't critize the product

In his defence, he points out every year that it's way too easy vs the AI.

...but I think he also loves the "Competitor Mode" AI option that makes the AI dance around the screen and literally perform a trick every 1-2 seconds.

Yeah ,I was more or less just winging it ,since the majority of FIFA game changers/PES YouTubers aren't that critical on the product they're selling (often themselves)

Give us a FIFA 16/PES 17 streamer NOW!

Yes he is a game charger so he have sole informations.
When i said than you can edit on PC it's because you can use mods, not on consoles.

I have some good Times with fifa 21 nextgen on FUMA ans personal sliders.
The game could be harder on legend with sliders than ultimate by default.

I know Fifa since a couple or years have big problems on defence since the introduction of 1 vs 1.
Midfield who didn't go back and too much space on the sides.
I hope theses big problème will be fixed on all versions.

I would like to have an invitation to the beta but i'm FRENCH so it's dead.
I understand all the deception years after years.
Every year i bought PES and FIFA but i really hope this years will be a big change in the good way for these franchises

I don't know box FIFA could be so bad when I see some Fut footage with unrealistic animations and really unreal ball physics.
Andwhen i want to make some matches after work, I found a pleasant game and not perfect, with great goalkeepers, great actions from CPU. But if you want a game more "simulation", it's hard but possible like this match on Career mode

Hey, we're early in the circle when EA promises a "new level of realism" (actual quote) and "Real-world data" this and true to life that. Mr. Realistic is king right now.

It's only after release when it's apparent that this is basically super mario kart with laws of physics from a parallel universe when he needs to calm down. 🤣

I wonder how in-depth the kit creation will be?
PES Master now have a FIFA kit creator too which at present is solely for PC, hopefully there'll be some method of importing like PES. Probably dreaming but it'd be brilliant if we could. If not, hopefully they'll resurrect the old 'Creation Centre' from the PS3 generation. If they're selling it as this big and impressive thing then it can't be half-arsed if they want people to care about it.

Honestly i don't think people like Chesno enjoys doing that. It's just that defending is so broken in FIFA which makes competitor mode the only way to make the game somewhat challenging even though it destroys player individuality and looks completely unnatural..

Yeah I can't blame them for doing it. Getting paid for doing something you don't like or are - at best - indifferent to is the way of the world!

Some flip-flop, though, which doesn't sit well with me. A month or so ago I saw a FIFA YouTuber tear into FIFA on their Twitter account (40k followers) but then cream over it hours later on YouTube (700k subscribers).

Huge to FIFA's success. He posted a video 21 hours ago. A game realised nine months ago - one that has been heavily criticised from day one - is still being championed to millions of people on the most public of platforms on a daily basis. And that's locked in. They'll be all over FIFA 22, regardless of its quality, putting it on the must-play pedestal.
