FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

That Man Utd v Leeds Career Mode footage looks awful. Actually, it looks like FIFA. That’s how FIFA looks and plays and has done for years.

And why, in 2021, on a PS5, do certain players still look like wrestlers?! Harry Maguire for example still looks terrible, his shoulders are massive!

EA assume that if a player is a CB then he MUST also be huge.

Also - question: will this be on EA Play Gamepass on Thursday?

I wanted to try it before buying, what’s my options here in UK (either PS5 or Series X I’m on both platforms, would prefer PS5 though as prefer the controller for football gaming).
To be fair to EA that guys commentary would make any game look shit ...at one point I was considering cutting off my ears

AI playing more direct is a good sign.

But the speed of the game is just so fast to the point animations just don't look right, and players skate all over the place. Hopefully changing to slow will fix that.

It is crazy how those YouTubers speak when they play the game. Like for every situation there is only one possible outcome and if by some odds it doesn't turn out that way, it is because A) They were unlucky, B) They were lucky.

Please, go play draughts if you can't cope with unpredictability. A lot of the magic of football actually comes from its unpredictability.

All those gameplay videos are plain awful ants/crabs ice skating galore. Hypershitty if you want my opinion.

Sorry, am I missing something? Outside of theatrics and cut-scenes (and the crowd in-game) this game looks no better than FIFA 14. The players movement looks more 8-directional than when it was fixed at 8 directions and off the ball, they've all been issued ice skates. The field turf is on par with FIFA from over 10 years ago at best. The game looks like a mobile version even on the PS5 gameplay footage. I understand the latest phones are pretty powerful but that PS5 footage hardly speaks of next gen, it barely speaks of Xbox360/PS3 graphics.

I've downloaded the game for early release play and will give it a few hours but I can't say anything is remotely impressive so far.

Looks worse than fifa 14.

Look at the cloth physics and grass colors of 14 on ps4/xbox one.

From artistic standpoint, the game actually looks worse than fifa 08 [x360].

Game speed look little better in this video.

Love that user header goal

The best FIFA 22 video I've seen so far in terms of the gameplay speed and the ball physics.
I'm getting quite hyped now to try it out to be honest. I'm glad it's out tomorrow (:
The game looks way better if you play 3/4* teams rather than unstoppable 90+ robots and that's the case in FIFA since it started to be an NHL, so it's always better off to test it in the first place picking up the teams from the lower shelf.

Do you know how to get additional languages on the PS5 version? I'll be getting it in the UK, however, it would be great to try out some new commentators that were introduced this year in different countries, so I'm wondering how to download it as an addition?

Yeah, i was pissed off and angry after many videos yesterday. But this video makes me wanna play game again.

About languages as i can remember, last year on xbox, in game settings there was a download option for different commentators.

Well i guess its playable (in compared to other Android game competition) ...

But even slow speed cant fix players movement which looks too fast and chaotic.

I will probably end up buying and playing.

seeing long range shots is nice, i don;t know much about FIFA these days but my mine gripe with PES was that you hardly saw the CPU miss those kind of shots wildly, it would nearly always be on target. what is the AI like for missing shots in general?

yes, this is what i noticed too. you know when you watch football and the ball is passed casually at the back sometimes, players are just slowly getting into the right positions or waiting for their cue to press. you just don't see that in these games. the players are like wasps immediately buzzing around or on the spot and even at the slowest pace the game offers they move way too fast and frenetic

Really glad to see the AI shooting from outside the box now. I truly didn't see that once in hundreds of beta games, so that's definitely new.

Has anyone seen any crosses from the AI yet?
Yes there was one about 3 minutes 40 into the Turkish superlig video. No way that gets crossed on fifa 2020 🤣 Unfortunately there isnt many videos currently that show the AI in a crossing position to see whether it's been sorted or if they still play tiki taka all the time. Promising though we've seen a cross and some long range shots
