FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Sorry, am I missing something? Outside of theatrics and cut-scenes (and the crowd in-game) this game looks no better than FIFA 14. The players movement looks more 8-directional than when it was fixed at 8 directions and off the ball, they've all been issued ice skates. The field turf is on par with FIFA from over 10 years ago at best. The game looks like a mobile version even on the PS5 gameplay footage. I understand the latest phones are pretty powerful but that PS5 footage hardly speaks of next gen, it barely speaks of Xbox360/PS3 graphics.

I've downloaded the game for early release play and will give it a few hours but I can't say anything is remotely impressive so far.

You're not alone. As I grow detached from FIFA, and my fond memories of the PS3 era, 16 and 17 fade, I find it increasingly difficult to tell the games apart and I'm not struck - visually - at all by anything I've seen from 22. In some aspects it looks different, but not always better.

Really glad to see the AI shooting from outside the box now. I literally never saw that in hundreds of beta games, so that's definitely new.

Has anyone seen any crosses from the AI yet?

Imagine having to ask this in 2021. 😄🔫

Yes and it's a vanilla version! I search vidoos with crosses mate.
GK seems better than the beta before the patch! OMG !

Yep. A few on that Turkish guys twitter and twitch.

The game looks okay. Maybe even good with the right sliders.

Cpu midfield switches between passive and engaged, rather than just completely disengaged. Could be worthwhile.

Pitch looks disappointing in most videos. Graphics overall are a real letdown.

It's a good thing to focus on the speed of that turkish video, because it really looks slower.

And you might also miss that his 2nd game was 4-0 on the 13' minute of the 1st half, with a bit of comical defending from the cpu, he even started laughing himself when that went in (it was around the 08:20 mark). :))

Game speed look little better in this video.

Love that user header goal

That cross field pass at 3m 18secs. Yes.

There was a patch around november of pes 20 that allowed those, the feeling was amazing, then they got rid of them.

There are times when the cpu midfield really screens out the centre of midfield. But then is disengaged and let's the player through, as if it will only allow a few seconds of resistance at a time in case the user gets frustrated.

Which, funnily enough, is frustrating.

Another video. They have slowdown the speed by defaut? It's a good news!
He beats Borussia Dortmund (who bring on Haaland at one point) with Wrexham. On Legendary difficulty.

If that's me, I can't play the game from that point on. I don't get guys like this.

Do people not want to work towards something any more? Build a poor team into a decent one and eventually into a great one?

What's the point in winning from game one - especially when you're deliberately picking a bad team. They're a CONFERENCE TEAM.

Sigh.

Hes good at the game. Most wont be no where near as good as the game changers /streamers as they play competitive fifa which is much harder then any difficulty mode

Another thing from that Wrexham video - Swindon Town (the second match) have 90% pass accuracy at the end...

That's Legendary difficulty doing that, granted. But lower the difficulty and it's a piece of piss - and alter the "pass error" slider and I barely see any difference, other than crosses being absolutely messed up as soon as you up it beyond 53.

Accuracy on FIFA has always been an issue, for as long as I remember League 2 sides have always had 90%+ pass accuracy.
Even shots are incredibly accurate with the AI pretty much having every shot go on target.

Then there are other parts which are complete opposite OTT, Free kicks is always messed up with anyone above about 85+ on free kick taking and you and the CPU score 90% of them, with the other end of the spectrum anyone under 80% and it is impossible to score as they don't generate the power.

I have just come to accept there is just fundamental issues with FIFA, always have been always will be.
In career mode it has just been a case of living with it.

Thanks, I have some pression:PINKS:
Do you want to see a special match? I will make Benfica Vs FC Porto and the return. I will made some footage with Seria A, Premier League, Bundesliga, Liga, Uber Eat and International teams.
Settings : FUMA / 8 minutes / World Class
Looking forward to see Benfica vs. Porto.
Now that Da Luz is in the game, it is very very tempting for a Benfica career mode (even if I'd end up buying the "not on par" version, the PC one, so I'd miss out on a ton of features apparently).
If only it played any decent...

Not this excuse again. FIFA has been too easy for years, even for people who casually play football games.

It will be the reason why I won’t be playing career mode again this year, no challenge means it gets boring quickly.

And everyone enjoying the footage last page or two: I haven’t watched yet but has anyone in these videos tried ultimate? Because if it’s anything like Ultimate in FIFA 20 and 21, I’ll cry. The AI became a FUT player even with competitor mode turned off.

1 -0 is a promising scoreline for career mode
wish it was on 15mins rather than 5.

New footage
This is on World Class rather than Legendary, and look how the Newcastle midfield just back off and let the guy do whatever he wants.

That could be their team style (which would be great), but...
I suspect that once again, you don't play the team (with variety in each match), you play the difficulty level.

To be fair, it's 1-0 and that's a relief - but with 20+ shots and both keepers having the games of their lives, I'm worried. The keepers were so organic in the first beta release. Really hope they're not robots now.
